Lumigan bimatoprost eye drops

Common Questions and Answers about Lumigan bimatoprost eye drops

lumigan

Avatar m tn So if people want to use the Lumigan drops instead of Latisse for whatever reason, lashes, etc and they don't have glaucoma, is it deemed safe to use? other than the known minor side effects that occur in some?
12845664 tn?1427483649 I am using Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.01% nightly. Cost under my Medicare coverage is pretty high (deductible plus copay). Bimatoprost 0.03% is now available as a generic. What potential problems am I inviting by asking my ophthalmologist to switch prescriptions and start using the 0.03%?
Avatar m tn I have taken Lumigan for open Angle Glaucoma for a couple of years in one eye only. In April the ophthalmologist asked me to put them in both eyes. I have no problems with that and my IOP is well controlled. However, I noticed my PVC's have gone up considerably since taken the drops. At first with only one eye I had about 15,000 per day, now with drops in both eyes they have gone up to almost 30,000 per day. There where no other medication changes during that time.
Avatar m tn You will have to ask your Eye MD ophthalmologist whether you have normal tension glaucoma (often a difficult diagnosis to make) or not. I can't tell. Also beta blocker eye drops are not as strong, or as long lasting as lumigan and beta blockers do not work at night whereas lumigan does. If you had side effects on BB before you likely would again. So if lumigan once/day is working well why try something new that likely will not work as well.
Avatar n tn I have pseudo-exfoliation in left eye. Started out on xalatan, then switched over to Lumigan when I was Glaucoma Suspect with ocular pressure 21-30. Under control low 20's on Lumigan, optic nerve healthy, no visual fields defects on test 5 months ago. However, last visit hemorrhage on optic nerve found and added Alpgagan P to Lumigan, did not do a thing after 6 weeks, pressure 24 today. Dr.
Avatar n tn Remember that the IOP in the eye changes from hour to hour, like your blood pressure or your blood sugar. The daily variation is called the "diurnal curve" so if your IOP was 22 last time and next time it's 18 it doesn't mean its getting better or that better diet/exercise has helped. Conversely if its 24 it doesn't mean getting worse.
Avatar n tn I had surgery and a stent was placed in my right eye. I have been taking Travatan Z drops from June until yesterday (10/13/16). I had an appointment with my eye doctor yesterday and he told me to stop taking the Travatan drops. I have noticed eyelash growth. I have discovered this is a side effect of the drops. Most of what I read says once the drops are discontinued, the eyelash growth is reversible. What does that mean? How is it reversible?
Avatar n tn So I was taken off of the glaucoma medication alphagan because it was not working well and caused severe dry eye and floaters and then I was put on and am currently on lumigan 0.01% that helps the pressure but makes the dry eye and floaters still a problem. For the uveitis I am on pred Forte 0.01% and has caused a slight cataracts. For my dry eye syndrome, I am allergic to most of the things prescribed to me so I take preservative-free over the counter refresh tears four to six times a day.
Avatar f tn org The glaucoma drops Xalatan, Lumigan and Travitan Z grown eyelashes in about 70% of the people that use them. The FDA has just approved a formulation of lumigan called Latisse for use to grow eyelashes.
Avatar n tn The retinal specialist gave 2 very strong drops to reduce the IOP. Subsequent to using the drops he went for a check for IOP and it was 15. Three weeks after continuously using the drops on his next checkup the IOP was back at 27. The retinal specialist seemed to be a loss. He is now recommending a glaucoma specialist. We are not sure what to do.
Avatar m tn When I had the cataract in my other eye removed last year I was prescribed Lumigan drops (along with other drops) after surgery. I have green eyes and everything I read worried me about my eye changing color which fortunately didn't happen. I am scheduled to have the other eye done next month and after researching it appears the Timolol could be used instead and I would not have to be worried about eye color.
Avatar m tn Doctor Hagan, I DID have high pressure in that eye when I went in for my first post-op exam (7 DAS). At that time the Dr prescribed Lumigan drops which I used for 7 days and when I went in for the next visit (14 DAS), the pressure was fine and I was told I could stop the drops. I have had the pressure checked 2x since then and the pressure was fine.
Avatar m tn SIR TWICE A DAY CAN I USE PRED FORTE AND ATROPINE ONES A DAY
Avatar n tn Go to www.rxassist.org and log in and put your brand drug name to see if you can get Pharma help, even if you have insurance, in some cases. For example, if you have Medicare and your income/2 is below $29,140, Pfizer will provide the medication for free. The trick is you have to submit a hardship form along w/application. Call them at (800) 707-8990 and tell them you have Medicare and they will send the form with the application. You don't have to be in the coverage gap.
Avatar f tn If you are not on latanoprost or Lumigan or Travatan Z they would be good alternatives also your eye doctor should have discussed glaucoma laser therapy. sometimes laser can be used and you don't need any eye drops. Please act on this.
Avatar m tn i am have some eyes trouble medicine Lumigan and regular eye drops in to my eyes.having major problems getting them in to my eyes.as soon as the tip of the bottle gets close to my eyes they will close. i have tried to do this many times i have had my mother and some of my friends try to put them in now luck. i went on to amazon and bought auto drop and ezy drop eye guide. i cannot tell if the medicine is getting in to the eye or not. the only thing i can tell is medicine is runs down my face.
Avatar f tn no one looking at my bloodshot eyes and commenting. With these drops i have eye lashes that go into the inner eye that i have to painfully pluck as they rub on the little pink (gland} and make mine red. Lumigan is the best choice though right? thank you?
Avatar m tn I was given Alphagan P for elevated pressure post cataract surgery in February in addition to some other glaucoma meds I was on prior to the surgery. I developed a very bad red eye, itching aching eyes, crusty dry skin eyelids, and other visible manifestations. In addition, the Alphagan affected my low light/night vision to the point I was having quite a bit of trouble seeing in other than bright outdoor light.
Avatar n tn I have been using Latisse for about 4 years, but I only apply it on the top edge of my lashes and I have had no side effects from using it (much to the frustration of many friends whose eyes get all red and puffy). Eye doc said his research indicated there were no side effects related to the sclera. I tried going simple - with Visine. no help. I've been using Systane 3-4 times daily for about 2 months and that has not made a change either. I do not wear contacts.
Avatar m tn I generally offer one/drop day trial of latanoprost, lumigan or Travatan-Z or SLT. If patient chooses drops and one drop once per day I strongly recommend SLT before adding a second or third drop. The biggest change in glaucoma over the coming years will be putting MIGS device in eye at time of surgery (small drainage valve MIGS = minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) to try and eliminate need for any drops.
6218685 tn?1379633270 while all the eye drops in that family (latanoprost, lumigan and travatan-Z can cause dark pigmentation around the eyelids I have never had (of the thousands of patient's I've treated with these medications) or read in the medical journals about the pigment occurring within 5 days. If that is the case one of a kind.
Avatar m tn I am in my 50's, blonde and blue eyed. I've been using lumigen eye drops for my glaucoma and also brushing it on my eyebrows. My eyelashes were minimal and pale; they are now dark, long, and lush. It took about 3 weeks to start noticing a difference. My eyebrows are now fuller, darker and the hairs longer. The results for the eyebrows are more subtle than the eyelashes, but definitely an improvement. The eyebrows took about 10 weeks to notice a difference.
Avatar m tn Hi l have been taking Azarga eye drops ( Timolol and Brinzolamide0 for 8 years twice a day with not much side effects except some dry eye, but recently it stopped being as effective in lowering the pressure so my eye specialist also put me on Travatan also ( Travoprost ) so l am now taking azarga twice a day and travatan one a day, the additional travatan has been successful in lowering my presssure but taking all these drops making my eyes more dry and slightly sore.
Avatar f tn Hello, I take Combigan and Lumigan for high-eye pressure in my left eye. Often my left eye looks bug-eyed and swollen with a dark, bruise-looking circle underneath. I also sometimes feel like I have air in and around my left eye and sometimes feel and hear a bubble popping sensation when I move my eye back and forth. My question is whether these symptoms are due to the medication, or to high pressure, or both/neither; and also whether I should be concerned. Thanks!
Avatar m tn My mother age is 55yrs and she is diabetic patient from last 15+ yrs.Currently she is taking drops for Glaucoma. But her pressure is around 22 & 26 right and left eye resp. Her diabetes is also about 225 post meal. My concern is, is it safe to go for the surgery. Dr.said its not going to be laser, they'll do surgery and put a filter to drain out the fluid it will take around 2-3 hrs for operation.
Avatar m tn ve read that steroid eye drops used in the post-op phase could raise the eye pressure. Can my existing eye drops (Lumigan + dorzolamide) continue to be used along with the post-op cataract surgery healing eye drops?
