While you are waiting to see your doctor, try excercising (it is a natural way to lower your blood sugar). Even a walk will help. If you don't feel up to it, make sure you stay away from sugary, white foods (things high in carbohydrates). 276 is a fairly high reading, the range should be 80-120. Mine is typically 110-170, although after a meal it has been in the 200's. My husband just found out he has diabetes also, and his was 479 when he found out!
The results give you a blood sugar reading that is expressed as a number which reveals your blood sugar over the past 3 month span. If you take the A1C when they do a CBC keep in mind it's a 'fasting' test. Go in the AM.
you will cause even more adrenal stress by having blood sugars all over the place. So please do work on getting yoru blood sugars more stable and lower. In your numbers for the targets: Fasting ideally: 4.4 - 5.3 2 hours Post eating: < 6.6 (or maximum 7.7) - but also should not be lower than 4.4. You will need to bring your sugars down slowly as you will feel hypo with normal numbers at the beginning. Please be careful.
They tested my blood at that time and discovered the elevated blood sugar. Although I felt better in days (from the meds), I had gone back for the follow up due to rapid weight loss in one week (7 lbs) and frequent urination and thirst. Was Dx'd type II, so immediately began monitoring my carb and sugar in take. Is this about the right time frame for sugar drop, or is it too slow? Should I have had lower numbers faster?
There are also over the counter glucose tablets, but I hated those. During hypoglycemic episodes, my blood pressure would drop as low as 80/45, and my pulse was faint and slow. I would also shake, sweat and become extremely dizzy and jittery. In fact, irritability or anxiety were usually early cues that I better eat. Hope all my rambling helped. Hope everything turns out okay.
Do you test your blood sugar at home? If so, waht are your fasting numbers and what is your 2 hours after meals. If you don't test at home it may be an idea to ask your Dr to run a HBA1C and also a fasting glucose test to see how your numbers are. Metformin can lose effectiveness over time / as the diabees worsens. When you are stressed try exercise instead of eating to help counter the cravings. Try to eat low carb diet with plenty of protein and healthy fats to help you cope.
I'm looking for information on what levels of blood sugar typically result in glycation. I have not seen my blood sugar go over 127, and I'm wondering what level I should be keeping it under in order to lower my Hgba1c. If it is becoming elevated to the 90's overnight is that causing glycation? Should I be looking for spikes that occur within an hour of eating? I haven't done that yet, because the two and three hour readings seem to be standard practice outside of a glucose tolerance test.
(Most of the companies do know how many carbohydrates are in a dosage) and figured out that her medications were adding an extra 25 carbohydrates to her system every time she took her medication. This amount of extra carbs will defiantly raise your blood sugar. Even over the counter medications are high in carbohydrates, (i.e. Tylenol, Cough medicines) some liquids are higher in carbs that their tablet form so be careful.
Blood pressure can fluctuate a lot during a 24-hour period. A couple things that might be making your pressure run higher than it's been in the past: 1.) Weight gain (sometimes gaining 10-15 pounds can raise blood pressure) 2.) Excess caffeine in tea, coffee, energy drinks, cola sodas, Mountain Dew, etc. Some folks are more susceptible to the caffeine as far as their blood pressure than others. 3.) Stress--It can be a biggie. 4.
Most people with heartburn, GERD, acid reflux, abdominal bloating and cramping have no idea that their symptoms may be the result of a lack of stomach acid, and not an excess of stomach acid. And yet these same people may be taking over-the-counter antacids or prescription acid blockers such as proton pump inhibitors (PPI's) for the purpose of reducing their stomach acid.
The next time this starts, try using pyridium to partially rule out a urinary tract problem...It is known as Urostat over the counter..It will color your urine orange briefly and will numb your urinary tract...If it doesn't lessen the pain at all, it's probably ovary issues...Good luck...this sounds pretty miserable...

All of a sudden the nerves start to get over the bruising and shock they've had and little by little the feeling begins to return. I know what you're going through though.....it's very scary when you don't know why things aren't returning to normal after the operation. I know it's no consolation but 12 days is still very early days yet. From what I've experienced, teeth take their own sweet time in deciding when to come right.
There are some over the counter treatments for thrush, but more severe infections require prescription medications. I would go to your family physician and discuss what has been going on, and possible treatment for this depending on their assessment. Urgent care centers are convenient and definitely have their place, but you would probably benefit from some continuity of care in this situation.
The main thing is for him to avoid anything that can harm his liver. Alcohol for one. Many medicines both over the counter and by prescription stress and can damage his liver further. If he is taking any meds or alternate herbs, supplements, vitamins, his doctor should have reviewed this. They all can potentially toxic to the liver. No one can say how long his liver will continue to function as it is. It is only when he’s liver can no longer function that a liver transplant is needed.
if you'd like to continue shaving with a razor a home remedy for popping the really sore in grown hairs is to take the skin from inside of an egg shell and place it over the bump and let it harden to your skin. this draws the bump and all the puss and blood to a head, and it will ooze out on it's own.
I passed a blood clot the size of a bowling ball. It hit the floor and so did I. It was the last thing I remembered until I was brought back. My husband was with me luckily when it happened and he called a nurse. I had stopped breathing, my heart had stopped and the nurse did CPR until the Doc came in and saved me. Obviously I was bleeding to death internally and I had to get immediate treatment and blood. I am not trying to scare you, but you need to be seen. When you called for your appt.
Started in the left wrist, went to the left knee, then ankle, and the over to the right knee. Now it's been happening behind my right thigh for about 2 weeks. Very strange.

At the same time I have very minor right lower back pain with numbness of my lower right leg. The pain in the lower right leg can be severe at times.I do not have pain in my stomach but that can also be the sign of sciatica. I also developed this out of the blue (unlike you when you run) and the conditions remain in time. Really my main problem is the right testicle pain. I would like to hear more about yours what symptoms you had in the past.

I am a nurse but he don't even let him know that after two years I've been seeing him.
Presently, I feel more even, more stable, but another serious problem has appeared on the scene. Since the change in dosage, my blood glucose levels have shot up to over 200mg/dL. They are consistently that elevated, and my normal dose of insulin is insufficient to handle it. My doctor instructed me to raise my insulin (Lantus-a 24 hr., "background" insulin) by 5 units. So far, this has had no noticeable effect.
An hour of afternoon exercise may lower glucose levels until the next morning, affecting the fasting blood sugar test. Exercise can also affect glucose levels by releasing adrenaline. This raises blood sugar temporarily. Physical exertion or other activities that cause excitement may increase fasting sugar levels if performed shortly before the test.

My mom got me an over the counter parasite medicine to drink). After that episode I seemed to be fine until then I started to have some weird symptoms but generally fine. Then about three years after that I traveled through Southeast Asia for three months getting sick twice (diarrhea). Since then I have experienced all of these symptoms, pretty randomly but also had many of them back when I was much younger so I don't know if something was triggered or what is going on.
I don't know whether this helps any but I had tried for a while (after consulting the doctor) taking over-the-counter allergy sinus pills because I felt congested in my chest area. I got the feeling that it was helping but really don't know if it was. I'm wondering if I could have allergies and not be aware of it as I have a family history of allergies. I don't think that the Zantac is doing anything at all as I do not feel I have acid reflux.
All different specialists seem to have a different prognosis and the recommended pills over the years have not really done any good. None of them seem to relate to the closure of the windpipe and cant give me a straight answer when I ask them. Has anyone an answer or better still has anyone else had this problem.
