Also have sensations in calfs of legs at night. Do my symtoms indicate I am low on thyroid. Have always felt 88 mcg was low. I am 6'3" and weight 160lbs.
After having consulted with a urologist, I was put on monthly testosterone injections to boost the levels. Low testosterone can be the cause of ED, low bone denstity and muscle loss. Most people will be concerned about ED but you can see that normal levels are also needed for other functions. God bless.
I'm actually experimenting with a gluten-free diet at the moment to see if that would have an effect as I have read that gluten intolerance (not necessarily Celiac disease) can cause low libido and wreak havoc on your body. I also agree with you that my free T is low for someone my age. I will keep pushing my doctor to eliminate any major factors: thyroid issues, pituitary gland issues etc. I'm confident that I'll find an answer.
Not sure if males are allowed to respond to questions regarding pregnancy. LOL I'm sure there will other replies that will be more helpful. I would like to point out that TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables that it is inadequate as the sole diagnostic for thyroid. You should also request tests for the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4. Usually these should be midrange or higher.
What are the reference ranges for the FT3 and FT4? Reference ranges vary lab to lab, so must come from your own lab report. Typically, when one has hyperthyroidism, TSH is very low, while FT3 is higher than normal. TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) is a pituitary hormone, which, ideally, stimulates the thyroid to produce T4 and T3. When there's adequate thyroid hormones, the pituitary slows down or stops putting out TSH. High levels of FT3 will, cause this to happen.
from what i have read it says that oral sex is a low chance but still has a chance of contraction. My question is how high of a chance did i have of contracting HIV from unprotect male to male oral sex. I have recently been having symptoms like fatigue, last night i went to bed at 9 which is very early for me and woke up around 12 not being able to fall asleep, i have swollen lymph nodes, and also i have been having to urinate/poop a lot. My last unprotected oral sex was in december.

I have always felt that all of my life’s problems are somehow tied to my thyroid. I have been to many doctors thru the years about my low energy and low temps. I have never received any real help. I'm at my wits end---can somebody help me.
for me it went hand in hand. low thyroid levels seemed to have low t levels. as the thyroid levels were restored the testoteroine levels came back to normal. i'd work on th thyroid levles. and you'llsee things come back into balance.
Hello, So far I believe there is a little improvement. I am still quiet for 2 or 3 days then loud T for 3 days, I will hold out for a whole month to see if it is helping. After a month I will have a blood test for TSH level.
I would suggest that since Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is the most common cause for hypothyroidism, and it is somewhat hereditary, you should ask to be tested for the thyroid antibodies, Thyroid Peroxicase antibodies, and also Thyroglobulin antibodies. The two tests are TPO ab and TG ab. In addition, you should always request to be tested for Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and Total T4) whenever you go in to the doctor's office.
Low thyroid levels mean you have an overworking thyroid. How can I have low thyroid levels when I have no thyroid at all. The doctors have put me through all sorts of tests to find why my levels keep going from hypo to hyper. I'm not changing my lifestyle habits in any way and taking my hormone supplements as recommended. So, why does it fluctuate? Could it be bad medication or another gland in my body or the thyroid medication interacting with my pain medications I have to take or what?
I am a 49 year old male. I have a history of ulcerative colitis - diagnosed back in the 1980's and eventually had to have my colon removed. Over the years I have felt horrible. Started working with a GP a couple of years ago who put me on Zoloft. I also have a history of systemic candida. Symptoms are muscle and joint pain, etc, etc. etc. My last two lab results over the last 2 years have shown TSH to be 3.90 and 3.40. My GP even said I was hypo but didn't prescribe anything.
Which your labs indicate they are just at or slightly above that range. What other symptoms are you having that would indicate you are low thyroid? I'm no expert. But it appears the Testosterone may be a bit low. This too would certainly result in low libido and possibly erectile issues. The real question I have is what changed? You said this all happened 3 to 4 months ago kind of suddenly. Is stress at work or something else causing changes? What about diet?
Mine was reactivated 1 year before I developed Thyroid disease. Try to find an endo who specializes in thyroid.....most just touch on thyroid and specialize in diabetes.
I am a 20 year old male who is 5'9" and have weighed the same weight since 8th grade... around 110-115lbs... i cannot put on any more weight no matter how hard i try. I am not anorexic, i eat 3 or 4 meals a day + snacks in between. These meals are decent size (half a large pizza + an ice cream drumstick after or 3 tacos and chips, ect). I have tried drinking high calorie protein shakes 2 or 3 times a day along with these meals with little to no gain in weight.
The physiologic stress state that’s created also can lower one’s thyroid and testosterone levels, making it seem like he may have either hypothyroidism or low testosterone. So in a sense, the “male menopause” phenomenon does happen, but not for the reasons that you may think. The word menopause literally means cessation of menses. Since men don’t have periods, this is not an appropriate word. Instead, it should be renamed something alluding to the progression of a sleep-breathing disorder.
hmmm. "high levels of thyroid" is vague. if your tsh is high and t3, t4 low, you're hypothyroid. if your tsh is low and t3, t4 high, you're hyperthyroid. your treatment depends on the underlying cause of the disease. have you seen an endocrinologist?
I don't really know if this question belongs here but not sure where else to post it. Are there any males suffering from high estrogen levels or say an imbalance of estrogen hormone vs. testesterone? If so, what symptoms are you experiencing? I read that this imbalance can lead to or trigger many problems including even diabetes, lupus, thyroidism and cause associated symptoms such as hair loss, aches, candida, frequent urination etc.
I am a male patient and i have had hashimoto since i was a child but i was diagnosed diagnosed almost 30 years later but i never had neither visible thyroid symptom nor pain there, this issue had been "ruled out" by an endocrinologist years ago. Only it got swollen after i began taking the thyroid hormone. I have had some anxiety issues that i have always managed with exercise all my life.
Can you please tell me whether this combo of high thyroid , high insulin and low testosterone is a sign of hyperthyroidsim, pituitary problems, or something else. Also what over the counter medicine can help (I took multi-vitamins but they increase my bowel movements and taking B12 alone increases ringing in my ears) I would really appreciate your advise. Thanks.
Low thyroid can cause a decrease in sex drive...if you have a low thyroid you need to be tested and get medication. I found this online: Many people -- women in particular -- still complain of a lack of sexual desire even after their doctors consider the thyroid problem sufficiently treated. Low libido is just one of many symptoms that are not resolved for many people, despite treatment. Here are ten ways to revive your sex drive. 1. Make sure your thyroid drug treatment is optimal. 2.
