639543 tn?1297027634 I had blood work yesterday, and I called my OB early today to make sure everything came back okay, and she said my thyroids were low. She said it's normal in early pregnancy but I honestly don't even have a clue what that means, and if it's really bad and she just doesn't want me to worry. I go back on monday to get more blood drawn to see if it's normal. Has anyone else had this problem?
Avatar n tn Even mild thyroid dysfunction is early pregnancy is increases the risk of miscarriage, stillbirth, low birth weight, and other serious complications. Please see your doctor as soon as possible for a thyroid hormone replacement prescription.
Avatar m tn The med should bring it under control and is safe in pregnancy. In a few weeks her thyroid should be rechecked to see if dosage needs to be adjusted. My mother had undiagnosed low thyroid when pregnant with me and I am currently finishing up my phd at the age of 26.
Avatar f tn And in early pregnancy there is rise in Tsh generally so thyroid medicine need to be adjusted accordingly. And tsh should not be only in normal range but also in a specific range for pregnancy. And have you ever been tested for your anti thyroid antibodies, i think this is the must. You should request to test your TPOab And TGab. Cause in my last two pregnancy my tsh, ft3 and ft4 was normal and in pregnancy soecific range but i did lost my babies.
1663743 tn?1302916403 ( I found out really early that i was pregnant) Went to the OBGYN at 9 weeks pregnant and she explained that it was ok to have low THS levels in the first trimester because the pregnancy hormones throw everything off track. I've been having a weird fluttering feeling my throat for about a year now. Its very intermitten and only lasts a split second and its gone. I dont feel anything when it happens except a split second flutter right a the base of my neck.
Avatar f tn t these all normal pregancy symptoms especially early on at 12 weeks when there is so much going on the body? Is it common to have low TSH and normal T4 in early pregnancy?? Would appreciate any medical feedback.
Avatar f tn MY TSH level in 2nd month of pregnancy was 6.11. Normal level is below 3. Doc recommended 25mcg of thyroxine soidum tablets. I am not convinced if it is appropriate amount. Doc. says that after 4 weeks he will again check TSH level and will see if the dose of medicine is to be increased or not. I am worried lest my baby develops some problems.
Avatar f tn I have hyper opposite than you but both can affect baby I take meds for mine have since I was five weeks now eleven weeks as long as it is controlled though it will be fine.
Avatar m tn All I can tell you is, I was born w/out a thyroid gland (the only one in all of my family trees) to have this problem. My children were born healthy and all their organs in place, including working thyroids. I don't think hypo or hyper thyroid is inherited. If a child is born with or in early stages of infancy begin to show symptoms of thyroid issues (Downe's syndrome/Mongoloid..
Avatar n tn Sounds like you need a combo of T4 and T3 instead of the straight T3. Your thyroid levels should be carefully monitored during pregnancy. Low thyroid in the early months can damage the baby.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone Recently found out that I have low estrogen and progesterone, especially progesterone. I had a baby 7 months ago. Took me one year to get pregnant, had placenta previa, and had a c-section almost a month early due to heavy bleeding. Since having my baby I have had extreme anxiety and heart palpitations that have caused me to see specialists and go through endless testing. I began to experience a correlation between my strange symptoms and my menstral cycle.
Avatar n tn Hi I had some blood test s done early because of my iron deficiency and my doc done glucose and thyroid s blood came back my iron is low thyroid is low glucose is fine... and as you do I looked up underactive thyroid and it can have all sorts of birth defects.... Any ones else out there that got it ?
Avatar m tn I have had 2 early miscarriages (one at 4.5 weeks the other at 6.2 weeks) in the past few months. They tested my THS level and it was low. I am scheduled for the endocanologist in a few week, but I wanted to know if this could be the cause of the miscarriages and if it is can it be treated. Thanks!
8101930 tn?1420001456 So I was diagnosed with a low thyroid (I am 13 weeks 2 days prego) and started taking my first pill this morning of eltroxin. Is anyone else on thyroid medication while pregnant? Will this harm my baby at all? I've Read that its better to take them then to not take them because If you don't your baby can end up with complications. The doc said i can go off of them after my baby is born If my thyroid is back to normal. I'm a little nervous but I wanna do what's best for my baby.
20922415 tn?1661860103 Furthermore, low progesterone levels increase the risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy. Experts, therefore, recommend that in these cases progesterone should be given to support the pregnancy.
1472764 tn?1287588186 Has anyone else had fever during the beginning of pregnancy. I'm starting my 6th week and have been running a 99.6 fever since last night. In an earlier post I thought it was my allergies but now I'm not sure it is. During my last pregnancy that ended in miscarriage I had a low grade fever one weekend that lasted a couple of days. I'm just really worried. I don't want this to end in miscarriage also.
