Low protein globulin

Common Questions and Answers about Low protein globulin

protein

Avatar m tn Research low-dose naltrexone. It might be an affordable and effective treatment that is not very expensive.
Avatar m tn A low A/G ratio may be due to overproduction of globulin or underproduction of albumin.
Avatar m tn I get a blood panel every year and nothing has ever been abnormal, until my last test done 10/13/2010. Albumin was 4.5.. My globulin level was 4.6. This seems very high from what I've seen on the internet. Anyways, nothing else was really weird. Calcium was 9.5. Reb blood cell counts and other tests did not indicate anemia. WBC was 5.7. RBC was 4.75. (My BUN was critically low at 4, and my creatinine was at the lowest normal # .06) There was no protein in my urine.
Avatar m tn I was awake all night before the test no sleep at all cause I had to catch the medical bus @ 3:15 in the morning.Had the test done at 8:30 am.
220090 tn?1379167187 Because disease states affect the relative changes in albumin and globulins in different ways, this may provide a clue to your doctor as to the cause of the change in protein levels. A low A/G ratio may reflect overproduction of globulins, such as seen in multiple myeloma or autoimmune diseases, or underproduction of albumin, such as occurs with cirrhosis, or selective loss of albumin from the circulation, as occurs with kidney disease (nephrotic syndrome).
Avatar m tn I am 34 and suffering from very low libido. been on depo injections for 1 year now. now 200mg 1ml evry two weeks. but I just don't think this is the problem. I got my dr to check everything else last time and to me my dht and dhea are very low as well as my testosterone, but my testosterone was a little higher before I started the injections. thinking about stopping them all together and going to try to get him to pursue one of the other possibilities. heres my results.
Avatar n tn ) Mathematically, your albumin test is on the high side of normal, while the globulin is on the low side of normal, so that makes the ratio very slightly high.
Avatar n tn What dietary recommendations should be made for someone with a low Globulin Level (2.0)?
Avatar f tn But last week i got a letter from my doc (asked for by the rheumy) with a request for a protein electophoresis urine test (Bence Jones Protein). Now I know what this test is looking for and is primarily Multiple Myeloma. So how can they say to dismiss the blood tests if they are now wanting to check for this? It doesn't make sense. Anybody have any ideas as to what they are doing? Thanks for any replies.
Avatar f tn I have had several blood test all of which are negative for ANA (had one POSITIVE ANA 2 years ago), Lymes, RMSF, and several others. My protein, globulin, albumin, calcium and RBC counts are now low. This is a new finding. PLEASE HELP diagnose me.
Avatar f tn My doctor keeps saying my results are normal even though my Globulin is constantly high and A/G Ratio low. My doctor did follow up with a Protein Electrophoresis Test which she said was normal but final notes mentioned *A few nonspecific oligoclonal bands in gamma region*…is this normal? My doctor didn’t bring it up but it was in the notes of the lab who performed the tests.
Avatar m tn Just like they found a tiny amount of protein, they found ill defined and inconclusive bands. All levels are low. I am sure your anxiety is not helped by this finding. But they are NOT moving forward currently which is a good sign that they are not concerned. So, tell us what your doctor said and we'll talk further.
