You really need to educate yourself on proper eating as a person with CKD. To begin with, daily protein in take, from any source, should not exceed about one gram/kg of your healthy body weight. There are several years-long studies going on studying actual human beings and those who live the longest and have the least obesity live mostly on carbs. So there goes that theory. And of course, we can't leave out exercise. I know many say that diet is 80% of weight loss, but I can cut calories and if I don't exercise, I still won't lose weight. I don't even care for it. It is interesting how the taste buds change fairly quickly even after a long time of having a bad diet.
