Avatar f tn So basically I struggle eating and would like to have a simple one off meal that's serves all my nutritional needs. I just forget to eat and because of this I'm underweight. Trying my best to put weight on but it's hard for me. So I came across homemade protien bars. made from oats,protien powder, peanut butter,almonds,milk, honey,chocolate, almonds and I decided to add in a multivitamin crushed into the flatjack mix. Isn't much fiber tho.

Avatar f tn Meal ideas would have to depend on what you like and what's available in your area. Just make sure you eat lots of veggies and protein. Snacking doesn't have to be bad -- keep carrot and celery sticks or fruit (apples, pears, etc) on hand to grab instead of the chips.
Avatar n tn I have two small meals, which usually consists of 4oz portion of lean protein, one serving of vegetables and one low fat serving of dairy. My lean protein is cooked in extra virgin olive oil. I supplement these small meals with 3-4 snacks, which consist of veggies and low fat dip, a piece of cheese wrapped in low fat luncheon ,meat, peanuts, fruit, etc. I eat at 9, 11, 1, 3, and 5. I will have a small snack at 7 if I am still hungry. I have an appt. with my dr on Friday.

Avatar n tn A little while ago i had a nondiabetic doctor recommend a low carbohydrate diet to help keep my blood sugars low and when i mentioned it to my endocrinologist she said that that type of diet puts extra strain on the kidneys and since diabetics are already prone to kidney problems they should avoit it. i would recommend that at your next doctor appointment you ask to be referred to a dietician to go over the proper diet aspects for a diabetic.

To help eat less food per meal, eat about 7-10 almonds, 20 minutes before lunch and dinner so you will feel full faster and not eat as much food. Do not be discouraged, weight loss can be a slow process but the slower you loss, the higher chance it will stay off. Think of this new way of eating as your new healthy lifestyle and not as a diet. PLEASE DOT TRY THAT DIET EITHER. i promise you i felt rubish. Avatar f tn m afraid my new diet plan is not helping. I now eat alot of fruits and veggie and only have one serving of meat a day (usually a chicken cutlet the size of my palm). I run almost every alternate day and cycle occasionally. The average distance I run each time is between 5km to 7km; sometimes 8km on a good day. I usually complete my 5km runs in 40-45 minutes. Do you think I need to increase my meat intake to build more muscles so I can burn off more fat?? Thank You.

And do not rule out insulin. Insulin is actually a great tool for controlling blood sugars. Most people I have talked to who take insulin (particularly those with Type 2 diabetes) say they wish they had started on it earlier.....
