Avatar n tn ve gotten from those close to me is to eat protein, try to limit carbs, definitely keep sugar intake as low as possible. I agree with the sugar, but I have found that eating protein does nothing to curb my symptoms. I've tried nuts as snacks and various bean salads, vegetables...but I almost feel like they make it worse. Only when I eat something heavy in carbs do I feel better. Whole wheat toast, peanut butter with crackers, rice, etc.

I use low fat hot pepper jack or no fat skim ... both melt and do wonderfully. 7. Wheat thin buns or Mueslix thin bread (about 100 calories), 1 TBSP of peanut butter and either 1-2 TBSP of SF Orange Marmalade OR Slice a banana on top. Avatar f tn About a year ago my son gave me a blender and I started to take a protein drink every morning instead of breakfast. I put the powder, bananas, fruits, veggies in it. You are right about asking your husbands doctor, I don't know the shape of his liver so it would be a good idea to ask him. I know of another member who used water in her protein drinks because the dairy seemed to cause her HE to get worse. I don't have that problem so I do use milk in mine.

Avatar f tn Also, you might not be eating enough so you get hungry in the afternoon. Maybe add some protein like hard boiled eggs, tofu, raw nuts or turkey for breakfast and lunch to see if that helps.
