Common Questions and Answers about Low protein bread

protein

Avatar f tn Low carb, high protein, low sugar.
Avatar n tn Well, because when your body shoots a slug of insulin into your blood after you eat lots of protein, it drives your blood sugar low. People who drink high concentration whey protein shakes (that are low in sugar and carbs) they hit a wall, because the insulinogenic effect of the high protein promotes the injection of insulin, which then dramatically reduces the few grams of glucose you have circulating in your blood, and then you feel weak, cold, shivery, etc.
Avatar m tn Eat a low carb high protein diet and exercise with both cardio and resistance training; resistance training is essential. A low carb diet like Atkins is one great way to reduce body fat, and because of the high protein, you wont lose muscle. However you can use any other type of high protein diet plan, as long as you keep total calories in control.
594189 tn?1386916607 Is 100% whole wheat bread a simple carb? Is milk a simple carb? or is it only white bread and pasta's?
Avatar f tn You can eat all the fresh/frozen veggies you want, fruit (limit that to 1-2 servings/day), lean protein, low/no fat dairy, whole grains such as whole wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal, nuts and nut butters, etc.
Avatar n tn Put her on an excellent quality high protein, low fat, grain-free diet. The cracker and bread diet she is on is currently on is very nutritionally deficient.
269786 tn?1243793707 I always shove in some protein first. Never the carbs first. I find that the protein makes me feel full and satisfied for much longer without the crash that you are describing with the carbs. Like JoyRenee, I keep my protein bars on hand that have a chocolatey flavor without the downfalls of an actual chocolate bar. I get that taste that I am looking for, yet the protein that will keep me moving along.
Avatar n tn If the amounts of food you listed are correct, then the amount of carb you estimated seems to be very low (example, your breakfast; I would estimate that one slice of bread at 15 carbs on its own...) Regardless, the best way to "know" how what you are eating is having an effect is to test your blood sugar ...
Avatar n tn Typically, the best diet for PCOS is the same one used for diabetics. That would be foods that are high in fiber, protein and fat, but low on the glycemic index - meaning they don't spike the blood sugar levels. This means you would best eliminate things like white bread, pasta and rice and replace them with the whole grain versions and brown rice. Center your meals round veggies, healthful fats, lean protein, nuts, seeds, dairy, eggs, etc.
1363339 tn?1338771053 breakfast this morning, small bowl of spaghetti (about 5 spoonfull) + two pieces of bread + a mug of mild coffee (the appetite was quite high this morning). Upon reaching lunch hour (1.00pm), I suddenly got shaky, sweaty, lightheaded, fast heart rate. I am having flu, cough, fever these couple of days and had taken all the necessary meds prescribed by the doctor + a day sick leave. I was wondering whether it's the hypoglycemia or the low adrenal.
Avatar n tn ve gotten from those close to me is to eat protein, try to limit carbs, definitely keep sugar intake as low as possible. I agree with the sugar, but I have found that eating protein does nothing to curb my symptoms. I've tried nuts as snacks and various bean salads, vegetables...but I almost feel like they make it worse. Only when I eat something heavy in carbs do I feel better. Whole wheat toast, peanut butter with crackers, rice, etc.
Avatar f tn EAS makes a great pre- made low carb protein shake, Walmart carries it. I normally eat about 1500 calories. Here is my daily diet: 2 eggs and I piece of whole wheat or rye bread with 1 tbsp all natural peanut butter snack: low carb protein shake and Fiber Plus brand fiber bar lunch: flavored tuna, chicken with salad, or sandwhich with some kind of meat, 1 piece of fruit (apple or serving of grapes), and 2 little pieces of candy, normally some kind of Reese's!
Avatar f tn Eat lean sources of protein, such as beef, pork, white-meat chicken and fish. Beans, eggs, nuts, seeds, tofu and low-fat dairy foods are nutritious sources of protein as well. Too much protein can cause dehydration and calcium loss. Healthy unsaturated fats supply you with long lasting energy to play sports. Eat avocados, salmon, walnuts and olive oil to ensure that you consume plenty of healthy fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids.
Avatar n tn Today I had a high protein, low carb meal - paleo bread (9g protein, 6g carbs(1 sugar)) and hemp seed butter (9g protein, 4g carbs(1sugar)). Within an hour, hypoglycemic symptoms began. Is it because I didn't have enough sugar? Possibly relevant (or not), I think I've been working on a duodenal ulcer (last endoscopy showed duodenal inflammation, hiatal hernia, GERD). My hypoglycemic symptoms coincided with acid/GI discomfort. I also have IBS.
Avatar n tn There are thousands of good books out there on healthy eating if you wish to experiment yourself, running the gamut from macrobiotics and vegetarian to diets such as the above running high on animal protein and low on grains. You can also see a holistic nutritionist if you require individual guidance. And exercise is essential. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Therefore, people prone to encephalopathy are advised to maintain a high intake of vegetable protein and a low intake of animal protein, or even better, to become vegetarians. This type of diet will help control mental symptoms in people suffering from some degree of chronic encephalopathy—that is, those who have some degree of mental confusion and/or memory loss all the time.
Avatar n tn The doc told me to add more carbs to my meal, she told me cream crackers for snacks and bread. It helped, but I ate two slices of bread for breakfast and lunch. Now i changed the portion coz white bread is high salted food, no nutricions. Kalsium and fat? Hmm, Milk? Will it be okay if i cut ties with them until I finish diet or at least after i reached 65kg? Egg gave me icky after taste, i cant stand it.
500923 tn?1210168927 Low carb diet - no bread - pasta - flour - limit whole grains - no sugar natural or artificial. Brown sugar Ok once in a while. Limit fruits high in sugar! Alcohol is sugar too. Limit milk products Maintain a high green veggie diet with lean "good" protein meats - hormone free! Nuts are good and yogart - I know it has milk - but it has many other supporting factors. It a tough change but you will adjust well and won't crave the other stuff after a while.
Avatar f tn Hello, the most effective diet for controlling diabetes is one that is low carb, moderate protein, and high in healthy fats. You can look up paleo (their approach is quite diabetes friendly), or mediterannean (though you may want to reduce the bread, past, etc).
Avatar n tn I also am following a low carb diet, meaning 20 g of carbs per meal and 15 g for snacks also increasing my protein has helped. I eat about 120 g of protein a day.
Monster I eat hi carb foods, or low carb foods, and my blood sugar does not come down when I eat the low carbs, it stays in the 130-140 range even then. I eat whole wheat bread, and sometimes do go to hi carb foods, and then it peaks up in the hi 160's. I am on Trajenta, have lost 19 lbs, and walk 3-4 times a week. Recently I had two injections of steroids, but it was two weeks ago, so I doubt that is the cause.
