Low protein blood

Common Questions and Answers about Low protein blood

protein

Avatar n tn Well, because when your body shoots a slug of insulin into your blood after you eat lots of protein, it drives your blood sugar low. People who drink high concentration whey protein shakes (that are low in sugar and carbs) they hit a wall, because the insulinogenic effect of the high protein promotes the injection of insulin, which then dramatically reduces the few grams of glucose you have circulating in your blood, and then you feel weak, cold, shivery, etc.
4250330 tn?1388621179 I had the same problem I was almost passing out at work several times during a shift, I went to the doctor and they said it was low blood pressure and low sugar, they told me to eat lots of protein and drink lots of juice and water, no more soda, I did this and it helped 100% I have only had one more episode since and I hadn't eaten correctly all day
Avatar f tn I've always had problems with this even before pregnancy and I think it's my blood sugar. I try to always keep peanut butter crackers or a protein bar in my purse for when I start to feel bad and it seems to work!
Avatar n tn ve gotten from those close to me is to eat protein, try to limit carbs, definitely keep sugar intake as low as possible. I agree with the sugar, but I have found that eating protein does nothing to curb my symptoms. I've tried nuts as snacks and various bean salads, vegetables...but I almost feel like they make it worse. Only when I eat something heavy in carbs do I feel better. Whole wheat toast, peanut butter with crackers, rice, etc.
1384238 tn?1286028762 Have you had things like ANA, ANCA, Cyroglobulin, C-Reactive Protein, Sed Rate, Protein Electro etc blood work done yet? If not find a good Rheumatologist and/or internist and rule out the things the other dr mentioned like Lupus.
494961 tn?1250742077 Hi, “blood urea nitrogen (BUN) measures the amount of urea nitrogen, a waste product of protein metabolism, in the blood. Urea is formed by the liver and carried by the blood to the kidneys for excretion. Because urea is cleared from the bloodstream by the kidneys, a test measuring how much urea nitrogen remains in the blood can be used as a test of renal function.
Avatar f tn Actually with low blood sugar the best thing is an increase in protien. I keep a block of cheese on hand and if mine starts to drop then I slice off a piece and lay down with some water a few mins and it clears up. I have dealt with low blood sugar in all 3 pregnancies now but was not diabetic...oh and my dr suggested powerade or Gatorade to help keep then stable.
Avatar f tn (Laying on your back during pregnancy compresses a blood vessel that causes your blood pressure to drop) This happens so often, it has me worried. What can i do to raise my blood pressure? It makes me so tired when i have these "episodes". I lay on my left side when it happens, to get my blood circulating better, and I've even tried elevating my legs above my heart. I also drink plenty of water, and I've even increased my intake recently. What can i do? And is it bad for baby?
Avatar f tn I've been hypoglycemic (have low blood sugar) since I was very little. You need to have peanut butter crackers or some almonds on hand at all times if you're getting low blood sugar. Gum will only help for a little while. Candies and stuff are high in sugar but they don't last as long. The protein in nuts and peanut butter raises your sugar and keeps it up for a good while.
Avatar f tn I have low blood pressure to. The doctor didn't seem worried. They told me to eat protein foods and salty foods! My sister had had low pressure with all her babies and they are all healthy! Good luck!
Avatar n tn Ch4st4r had some good suggestions... also adding protein and healthy fats from olive or coconut oil to each meal will help as well, since protein and fats, won't increase blood glucose levels like simple carbs will. I lost 23 lbs by add more healthful fats to my diet...
Avatar f tn For about two years I've been dealing with symptoms that cycle - itchy skin (legs, abdomen, chest), rash (abdomen, chest), achy and stiff joints (mainly knees, hips, back, neck, wrists), blurry vision, low-grade fevers, extreme fatique. At first the symptoms would last for about a week, then leave for a couple weeks. As time goes on, there are less good days than there are bad days - typically 3-4 days of symptoms, then just general fatique and achiness for a couple days.
Avatar m tn In your case, chances of autoimmune disease are more as other blood tests are normal. The only other finding is low folate. Low levels can be due poor intake of folic acid rich food (green leafy vegetables, yellow fruits, avocado, beans, lentils, cauliflower etc) or due to malabsorption syndromes (IBS, tropical sprue, Crohn’s, celiac etc) or due to eating disorders causing malnutrition. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this.

Avatar m tn Low salt diet, avoid potassium rich foods like potatoes and tomatoes and dark colored pop - except rootbeer is okay, and keep your protein moderate (no more protein than the size of your closed fist - two times a day). (if you google you can find the whole list). And keeping your high blood pressure under control. If you haven't already an appointment with a nephrologist may be in order.

Avatar n tn Your thyroid produces the hormone T4 which is converted mostly by the liver, although on its way it comes into contact with protein, some is carried away by this protein, what gets converted is Free T4, after conversion, the contact with protein occurs again, some T3 is carried away, once it contacts protein, it is not usable by the bodies cells, so what is left is Free T3, the active hormone your body functiosn by, when ths hormone is low, your body slows down (Decreased Metabolism) The Pituita

Avatar f tn I went back to the doctor a few days ago, and everything else turned out normal except now I had high Calcium and High Total Blood Protein. My Total Protein was 10.6. I am worried about the possibility of Cancer or something serious. Do you think it would be Cancer if just a few weeks ago my Calcium and Blood Protein was normal and now it is not. Could medications like Omnicef cause this increase? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
Avatar n tn m not sure if you were talking about your urine or blood with your high protein but if it was your urine than that is also an indication something is going on. You shouldn't have any protein in your urine. Has your doctor talked to you about these blood test results? I would be curious to hear what they had to say. You also said they checked your gallbladder for stones but did they do a gallbladder function test?
