I am now on transdermal patch of testosterone to try to ignite my libido which has been non-exsistent for years. the dose of 300mg is not enough but my doctor does not want to up dosage. 1351105 tn?1277142905 I just recently found out that I have low estrogen levels. I also have endometriosis. I looked up something and it said that estrogen replacement is not the best thing with endometriosis. My soon to be husband and I are trying for another baby but if estrogen levels are low I know that can cause a bigger issue on being able to conceive. And I don't want to go back onto birth control due to the fact that we're trying for another.
Avatar m tn As I understand it, when one injects testosterone (lets say Testosterone Enanthate) the body converts (with an enzyme) the excess testosterone into estrogen. The pituitary gland also senses this huge influx of testosterone and sends a message to the testes in the form of Oestrogen to shut down the bodies natural production of testosterone.
Avatar f tn In pre-menopausal women, the ovaries create most of the estrogen, and after primary treatment, taking Tamoxifen will be sufficient to block estrogen from cancer cells. If needed, for young women with estrogen-sensitive breast cancer, ovaries can be temporarily shut down with ovarian suppression injections. For high-risk women, ovaries can be surgically removed (oophorectomy).
Avatar f tn Low estrogen levels are not an issue in women who are young and not trying for a pregnancy. Sudden weight loss can also lead to hormonal changes. Pills themselves alter the hormonal profile. Fertility in later life need not be affected. PCOS if any is easily detected on ultrasound scan and hormonal assay. You may consult a gynaecologist and an endocrinologist. Take care.
Avatar m tn Low estrogen levels are often addressed by supplementing with estrogen cream or patches; however some nutritional supplements may also help improve symptoms Low Progesterone: Treatment often includes natural progesterone supplementation, which is generally very safe and effective. The herb chasteberry may also help normalize progesterone levels. Sometimes low progesterone indicates low thyroid hormone levels, therefore lab tests for thyroid function may be recommended.
1070570 tn?1283436213 You are very young to be having these issues. I don't recommend DHEA for women. I would try some alternative therapies. Give acupuncture or a homeopath a try if you can afford it. Some insurances will pay for acupuncture.
Avatar n tn Plus remember tha there have been no studies looking at estrogen increasing ovarian cancer recurrence in women with a known ovarian cancer. So you are left with the option of just not taking estrogen because of a theoretical risk versus taking it because of the known benefits of sexual function, strong bones, improved quality of life. I have pasted the WHI summary below: Findings Summary Gynecologic cancers are cancers of female organs other than the breast.
Avatar n tn You are young to have this. It's much more common in menopausal age women. The usual cause is low estrogen levels which cause vaginal walls to thin. What is your doctor's solution for this? Are they doing hormone checks on you to see if you are imbalanced? Do you have regular menstruation?
973741 tn?1342342773 My sister has made me worried about taking estrogen as her friend got breast cancer and her doctor says the estrogen supplementation was involved. That does make me nervous.
Avatar f tn It's not your fault, it's due to a low amount of estrogen. Perhaps you should try watching some porn (don't act like you haven't done it before) sometimes all you need is a little visual stimulation. If that's not working then perhaps talk to the gyno about it. I was having issues with low libido as well and it turns out my body wasn't producing enough estrogen so now I take estrogen supplements on top of birth control and my sex drive is back.
Avatar f tn Also, you are very young so heart disease is very low risk plus women in their child bearing years have a natural defense from heart disease. However, your pain as described could be your heart but it would be very unlikely. You should go get checked out to be safe.
Avatar f tn Do i have to forego any career and sit tight in my low wage low hours job for the rest of my life achieving nothin because of this damn menopause - the government wont susidise me. Im only getting six hours sleep a night and thats on valerian. Im wasted!
Avatar f tn Because I had my ovaries removed and am young, my oncologist has me on estrogen only replacement. With all the new information in the news now I don't know what to think. The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it.
Avatar f tn Hopefully, your doctor will work with you to try out some other types of estrogen. And some women find that taking testosterone helps too. But it is best to get settled on estrogen before adding any other hormones. I hope this helps! Let us know how you are doing as you tweak things.
Avatar n tn Hi, Fibroglandular is what breast tissue is.A combination of glands and fibrous tissues and this is normal. It describes the tissue as lumpy,or dense. Many women have this condition, particularly young women and it's not indicative that cancer will develop.Because you have moderately dense breasts,it could make mammogram readings more difficult, your Doctor/Radiologist might recommend an Ultrasound if more information is mentioned on your report.
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar n tn Will the TSH level have a direct affect on estrogen? I think I have symtoms of both low estrogen and hyperthroid maybe? Confused? Thanks so much.
1766773 tn?1313668171 s said that even after surgical removal of the ovaries the body still produces hormones so I am keeping the faith but I never really had a high libedo even as a young women. Now I am fearing it maybe totally wipped out, se la vie!
Avatar f tn Some studies suggest that these lumps may be dependent upon estrogen, because they are common in premenopausal women, pregnant women and postmenopausal women taking estrogen. Limiting beverages or foods that contain caffeine, including coffee and chocolate can help shrink the lump and reduce the pain. Also evening primrose oil and vitamins E and C supplement, application of warm compresses to the breast and massaging with Castor oil could be very beneficial.
Avatar f tn I have a 21 yr male who has low testosterone levels and high estrogen levels. He has gynecomastitis, overweight, depressed, and insomnia. Any advice on treatment option!
Avatar f tn Anyway, many women, even young ones, will get yeast infections around the time or right after their period due to estrogen increasing and then decreasing. It's definitely known to be related. Let us know what your doctor says you can do!
Avatar n tn I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
Avatar m tn I know this because one of mine is poly cystic. Usually it's both ovaries though. You can go on medication to help - an issue for young women is estrogen is required for building bone mass and reducing the risk of osteoporosis etc when you're old. So hormone regulating medication can help.
