1351105 tn?1277142905 I just recently found out that I have low estrogen levels. I also have endometriosis. I looked up something and it said that estrogen replacement is not the best thing with endometriosis. My soon to be husband and I are trying for another baby but if estrogen levels are low I know that can cause a bigger issue on being able to conceive. And I don't want to go back onto birth control due to the fact that we're trying for another.
Avatar f tn Do i have to forego any career and sit tight in my low wage low hours job for the rest of my life achieving nothin because of this damn menopause - the government wont susidise me. Im only getting six hours sleep a night and thats on valerian. Im wasted!
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar f tn I have a 21 yr male who has low testosterone levels and high estrogen levels. He has gynecomastitis, overweight, depressed, and insomnia. Any advice on treatment option!
Avatar m tn As I understand it, when one injects testosterone (lets say Testosterone Enanthate) the body converts (with an enzyme) the excess testosterone into estrogen. The pituitary gland also senses this huge influx of testosterone and sends a message to the testes in the form of Oestrogen to shut down the bodies natural production of testosterone.
Avatar f tn Low estrogen levels are not an issue in women who are young and not trying for a pregnancy. Sudden weight loss can also lead to hormonal changes. Pills themselves alter the hormonal profile. Fertility in later life need not be affected. PCOS if any is easily detected on ultrasound scan and hormonal assay. You may consult a gynaecologist and an endocrinologist. Take care.
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar f tn My blood work came back and I have low estrogen levels. The insurance won't cover the medication I was prescribed. Does anyone have an idea of a generic brand I can take or something over the counter?
Avatar n tn Last year, I was on the birth control pill (Marvelon 21) to regulate my periods which I had a lack of due to low estrogen levels because of, mainly, being overweight. I have not been on the pill since July 2007. I am just wondering, is it possible to become pregnant if I have not had my period for the past 4 to 5 months? Also, will I have difficulty in the future to get pregnant having such irregular menstrual cycles and taking the birth control pill so excessively?
Avatar f tn im 33 yo,6yrs trying to get pregnant, recently my repro-endo told me that im not ovulating bec of low estrogen level, and as of now she doesnt know the root cause of having low estrogen, since all my bloodtests were normal..is there anybody out there who experience the same thing..right now my ob instruct me to inject gonal-f.to help stimulate my eggcells..very depressing, frustrating, sometimes i want to give up and loosing hope..pls help me..
Avatar n tn However, with IVF they have to keep a good balance because if estrogen is too low you would miscarry. Good luck to you!
Avatar m tn you have mentioned only about the free T level, since such within-the-range free T can be there even from a low number of serum T if SHBG counts are less. Low SHBG on the other hand can indicate fatty liver and or insulin resistance. It can also increase the level of estrogen, which in your case is in the mid range. Well, these considerations may not be of any significance in your case, but I am looking at these possibilities since you are having symptoms of low T.
Avatar f tn I just statrted to take it myself becuse i too have low estrogen. I did research on it and i liked what it said and what it can do for me so i'm going to give it a try.
Avatar n tn Will the TSH level have a direct affect on estrogen? I think I have symtoms of both low estrogen and hyperthroid maybe? Confused? Thanks so much.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn They can then determine if you really are low estrogen. And if it is so low that you have these types of issues, then you can perhaps take BC with estrogen and bump back up to get regulated again. I had the opposite for a good while of TOO much production of estrogen which acted like a natural birth control pill, infrequent periods, melisma on the face (lovely), etc. That was a bummer. But definitely, out of nowhere, hormones can get out of whack.
Avatar f tn It looks like you need more testing too - I wonder if testosterone and estrogen are low, what are your LH/FSH. If they just push the pill on you, it may just muddy the waters (especially for the cortisol testing) and not help you... Is this all the testing you have? I would get an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn It's not your fault, it's due to a low amount of estrogen. Perhaps you should try watching some porn (don't act like you haven't done it before) sometimes all you need is a little visual stimulation. If that's not working then perhaps talk to the gyno about it. I was having issues with low libido as well and it turns out my body wasn't producing enough estrogen so now I take estrogen supplements on top of birth control and my sex drive is back.
Avatar f tn My estrogen level was low at my last blood test which was 5 days after a 5dt. It was 47 and they said it should be around 100. They gave me supplements to take twice a day. This happened to me last try and it didn't work. Has anyone else had low estrogen like me and still had a positive pregnancy test?
Avatar n tn My periods were whackadoo for a couple years when I was young. My doctor put me on a very low estrogen birth control pill and then my periods came and went like clockwork. If you are not interested in going on the pill, that is ok. Long periods are normal.
Avatar n tn Also from my doctor, I learned that one can be both estrogen deficient and estrogen dominant at the same time if progesterone and estrogen are low, and due to our exposure to estrogens & phyto estrogens in environment and foods. So alot of balancing is required and diary your symptoms for your doctor, and balancing your doses of the creams based on your symptoms, always start low and work up, also know that with estrogen, the symptoms of too much and not enough, are the same.
Avatar m tn i think the dr will look at my age and say im to young to have low t and not order a blood test.
1070570 tn?1283436213 I have had a very low DHEA level since Oct 2009 . Has anyone had any success taking DHEA supplements? If so what brands and at what dosages? I am a 23 yr old female with hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency which gives me alot of fatigue and muscle pain. I take cytomel and synthroid and cortef daily but I still have the fatigue and pain. My TSH is low, FT3 high, and FT4 low. I've heard conflicting views on women taking DHEA so I just wanted to see your opinions. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I wonder if you have also had your tumors tested for estrogen...this is another way of being able to treat this disease. I have estrogen receptive low grade cancer and my doctors will be putting me on Tamoxifin after my surgery to see if this will help control a recurrence. I would suggest you ask your doctor about the estrogen and get a hold of your pathology report to confirm that your tumors are a borderline and not a low grade cancer... Good luck with things...
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. I am taking estrogen pills too with a estrogen patch every other day.
