If you are having reoccuring yeast infections it might be that you aren't treating the right kind of yeast infection. I have read that 80% of yeast infections are caused by candida albicans (can be treated by monistat or diflucan) and 20% by Candida albrata. Is it possible that this is your problem? Also, I too had reoccurring yeast for awhile and dr. ended up prescribing boric acid capsules. You have to get them at a compounding pharmacy or look up online how to make them yourself.
At this point I feel I am going back and forth between yeast infections and low estrogen symptoms. Needless to say I am losing my mind and am in agony. Any suggestions? OR home remedies? Baths? Anything would help.
I got tested for Genital herpes which came out negative, but I have been looking online and alot of people say that many people get a misdiagonosis of Herpes as a yeast infection. That is when I was diagonosed with a yeast infection (Papsmear and they found alittle yeast). I've been lost ever since the Middle of November because this is when it seems to have been happening!
Well, yes, the risk of vaginal infections especially thrush or fungal infection is higher in women on contraceptive pills containing estrogen. Changing the pill type often helps in these cases. yeast infection or thrush is at times very difficult to treat. You may need to take oral antifungal pills twice a week for 3-4 weeks along with local application of antifungal cream. Antifungal with a combination of two or more anti fungals is more effective. At times both partners need to be treated.

This always happens right before my period. My symptoms are strange as well. For the yeast infection, I have burning and some discharge but no itching. The UTI, I have a fever, pressure in my pelvic area and a little burning in the area around my urethra. Neither of these occurrences seem to be what is normally experienced. I'm concerned these are actually mild herpes symptoms, and am concerned about my risk of exposure.
UA and wet mount is normal which would rule out a urinary tract infection and a yeast or gardnerella infection, but has she checked for STDs such as Gonorrhea or Chlamydia. Listen, these are less likely, but if she was thorough, these should have been done as well. 3. Urinary Tract Infection - But UA was normal.
I don't know if this is a yeast infection? This been happening for sometime. I read for yeast infection, vagina itches every now and then but mine is only during the night. What is this supposed to be?
Ive probably tried almost every yeast infection medication from otc stuff to gyconazole, triconazole, diflucan i dont remember all the names. Nothing seems to do the trick. Could it just be a misdiagnosis? How would i know if i have herpes? ive had a culture done once when i had one of those bumps and it came out negative. Im tired of going in and out of the doctors... i dont know what to do really...
I ended up with nerve damage in my tongue from my teeth being pulled and still have a burning/numbness in my tongue When the burning first started I had some discharge and assumed it was a yeast infection, I took Difuclan and it still didn't go away so I went to the doctor had a pap and he said to use canasten cream for 7 days. I did this and the burning went away. Two and half weeks later it came back.
I am very prone to yeast infections and UTIs. I can say, this is much itchier than a normal yeast infection, and the UTI going away and then coming back is not a normal behavior. I have been to my OB-GYN now multiple times. We did treat for a slight yeast infection with two Diflucan pills, but I saw no change in symptoms. Upon my last visit, they tested me for a UTI, a yeast infection, BV, pregnancy, and TSH levels. Some blood was in my urine, but otherwise everything else came back fine.
They called and said I had a VERY bad yeast infection. This time I started feeling similar to the last time. By day 3 I was swollen and red again with mild itching and a white/clear stretchy discharge. I have been with a new partner since Nov. 2005 and these problems have started since then. I seem to be irritated down there almost always after we have sex. Do you think maybe it's his body chemistry that isn't mixing well with my "inside"?
Hi! Recurrent yeast infection can lower your chances of conceiving. yeast infection or thrush is at times very difficult to treat. You may need to take oral antifungal pills twice a week for 3-4 weeks along with local application of antifungal cream. There are many types of antifungals available. Take an OTC antifungal with a combination of two or more anti fungals. Use both oral and local application. At times both partners need to be treated. Provided it is indeed fungus, then only try this.
I had what I thought was the world's worst yeast-infection ever for almost two months, and ended up being treated with Tercanozole for 2-weeks and 3 Diflucan pills. I had lots of swelling down there, but no blisters. I was told by three different doctors that I had what appeared to be a partially-healed yeast infection. I was swabbed for herpes 5 times, especially at the bottom of my vagina, the posterior fourchette area. Each swab came back negative.
I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned. Could allergies have led to a sinus infection? Can the sinus infection cause dizziness and fatigue? Due to the holiday weekend I haven't been able to call my doctor, but after 3 prior visits he's never suggested sinuses to be a cause.
Not sure I follow you completely, so I'll address a few of your comments point for point for clarity: "It's very unclear if raising your cholesterol by your own efforts pre-tx will have any effect at all on SVR." Well, I'm not sure how you would define "very unclear". But based on what I've read so far, there are a few studies that suggest this might very well be true.
I need input ladies, the past few days Chloe has been so cranky, she's teething so I assumed it was just that. Well Thursday night she got a low fever, runny nose, cough, etc, and started pulling at her ears so I took her to her dr. She checked everything, said it was probably viral.
I check my temp when I get these episodes and its perfectly normal. I do not have a infection or am not sick. Im not even in a cold environment. Everyone around me is not cold. Its the weirdest thing, and I cant find a answer for it. Its like my body is messed up and sending these chills for no reason. Please help.
Only part I can answer is about the yeast infection. I had a yeast infection a week and half ago and was 1cm dilated and could still take the meds, it just feels weird putting it in since you're dilated.
sometimes, a local low-dose estrogen cream applied SPARINGLY to the area can help. make sure your docs have ruled out any type of infection. also, diabetes can cause perianal itching. make sure your blood glucose and A1C levels have been checked.
A little over 2 months ago, I started getting a raw, burning sensation on the external part of my vagina. I tried OTC yeast infection medications to no avail. I went to the gynecologist and was given Diflucan for one day and they took a culture of the inside of my vagina. Took the meds and it did nothing. The pain was still there and the test results concluded I had a resistant strain yeast infection. I was given more meds including more Diflucan and then Terazol. The pain remained.
If you were my patient, I would suggest that you get a vaginal pH kit at your local pharmacy and see if you might have BV--this is the most common infection to cause a bad odor. If not that, then possibly yeast. If they removed your ovaries at the time of surgery, you might have low estrogen levels and might need some systemic or vaginal estrogen. Ask your ob/gyn! Good luck!
I ate fresh yeast made buns when my mother was over yesterday. I also had to endure some stress with this situation that was an emotional draw back from the past, so this may have been the upset for me. The week prior I played in a performance at the Monterey Center and ate a Buerrito and this journal wasn't noted. The music was loud and I gave a lot of energy, this may have done it or the Buerrit. I found out the ingredients of the food and sugar was in it.
Also, you need to test whether you have yeast infection or not and whether Chlamydia infection is persisting or not. Various reasons for recurrent fungal infection are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance, co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. The risk of vaginal infections especially thrush or fungal infection is higher in women on contraceptive pills containing estrogen. Changing the pill type often helps in these cases. Discuss this with your gynecologist. Take care!
It isn`t a yeast infection. It is menopause related,I am sure.I am just not sure if it will heal on it`s own.I am using a cortisone cream 2x a day.I was given the prescription a year ago and I used it for 3 months. It helped with the dryness, itchiness and thinning of the skin in the area.I was not dealing with an open lesion though.
I have had many yeast infections in my life and it was really nothing like a yeast infection. There was no discharge and I never really had the urge to itch. It was more of an irritation or burning sensation. My doctor advised me to treat it with Monistat just in case. It didn't go away and so he gave me metrogel (after negative tests!) to try just in case. Well, 10 months later I am still having this irritation. It gets worse the first few days after my period ends. I am 40 years old.
Okay I'm 39. Almost a year surgical menopause. I have a yeast infection from hell d/t antibiotics. Here's the deal. I have two sore spots on the right side in the crease outside labia majora. There is also a cracked like line running along that crease that hurts badly as well. Now I know d/t low to nil estrogen my vaginal tissues are very thin and funny anyway but if I scratched or wiped to hard could I have caused these canker sore looking things?
i thought it may have been a yeast, but it's not. i have taken meds and stuff, but still no help.
