Avatar n tn At this point I feel I am going back and forth between yeast infections and low estrogen symptoms. Needless to say I am losing my mind and am in agony. Any suggestions? OR home remedies? Baths? Anything would help.
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar f tn When you say your sex hormone, do you mean testosterone? Your sex drive, libido, must be low because you’re having these yeast infections. If fluconazole isn’t working your doctor should have changed it for another antifungal agent. My opinion? Find another doctor asap.
Avatar f tn For whatever reason, women with high levels of estrogen are MORE likely to have candida or yeast overgrowth. There is even something they call estrogen dominance and it is absolutely associated with frequent yeast infections. They may try to stabilize your hormones or get them in a little better balance.
Avatar n tn I am extremely depressed and am suffering with hypothyroidism, low testosterone, too much estrogen, high cholesterol and low Vitamin D what is wrong with me? I originally thought that everything here is linked to depression from stress and anxiety so I started taking Lexapro for the depression. But my wife thinks that maybe all of these things are linked to a health issue. About 11 months ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and low thyroid, so I am taking red rice yeast and .
Avatar f tn It isn`t a yeast infection. It is menopause related,I am sure.I am just not sure if it will heal on it`s own.I am using a cortisone cream 2x a day.I was given the prescription a year ago and I used it for 3 months. It helped with the dryness, itchiness and thinning of the skin in the area.I was not dealing with an open lesion though.
1142929 tn?1271622835 And many women get yeast and BV at the same time - BV covers up the yeast. It also can take about 30 days for things to really balance out after treatment. Estrogen does play a role in lubrication etc. For the dryness there are some over the counter aids that you can look into or you can see about trying some estrogen cream on the outside of the vagina. I would start with the OTC bec it's not hormonal. Don't use plain lubrication; look for one that specifically is for vaginal dryness.
Avatar f tn s annoying but keep being seen when you have symptoms. Could even be you have low estrogen getting to your genital area which is causing dryness and irritation as well as uti like symptoms. Certainly at this point if you are just seeing a GP, getting a referral to a gyn for follow up is in order. If you can find an urogynecologist to see even better - they cover all the plumbing for us gals .
Avatar f tn Eat more vegetables, whole fruits and poultry, fish and meat. Possibly even take an oral yeast product - AZO Yeast. For lubricant, try a dab of 100% aloe vera. Once you are through with the Lotrimin cream treatment, you can dab this on after every shower if you still feel dry, but I bet you will be better. Oh, and all your underwear needs to be washed in hot water with carefully measured detergent and about 1/2 cup of baking soda in the water to kill the yeast.
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar m tn I only started getting it after I had a complete hysterectomy/oopherectomy and is part of extremely low estrogen levels (surgical menopause). My ENT has agreed that low estrogen levels can cause your mucus to thicken and dry your sinuses. If anyone has anything similar or a way of getting the jelly out I’d be most grateful (I sniff salt water which helps a bit).
1351105 tn?1277142905 I just recently found out that I have low estrogen levels. I also have endometriosis. I looked up something and it said that estrogen replacement is not the best thing with endometriosis. My soon to be husband and I are trying for another baby but if estrogen levels are low I know that can cause a bigger issue on being able to conceive. And I don't want to go back onto birth control due to the fact that we're trying for another.
20856774 tn?1638158155 Sorry no one answered you. It 'could' be that your estrogen is low enough to be causing vaginal dryness which is causing this discomfort. I'd either work on vaginal dryness to see if it improves things (they make products for this specifically) or ya, talk to your doctor. Maybe there is a fix besides just switching birth control pills. Let me know how this turns or turned out.
Avatar f tn My blood work came back and I have low estrogen levels. The insurance won't cover the medication I was prescribed. Does anyone have an idea of a generic brand I can take or something over the counter?
Avatar n tn Last year, I was on the birth control pill (Marvelon 21) to regulate my periods which I had a lack of due to low estrogen levels because of, mainly, being overweight. I have not been on the pill since July 2007. I am just wondering, is it possible to become pregnant if I have not had my period for the past 4 to 5 months? Also, will I have difficulty in the future to get pregnant having such irregular menstrual cycles and taking the birth control pill so excessively?
Avatar f tn im 33 yo,6yrs trying to get pregnant, recently my repro-endo told me that im not ovulating bec of low estrogen level, and as of now she doesnt know the root cause of having low estrogen, since all my bloodtests were normal..is there anybody out there who experience the same thing..right now my ob instruct me to inject gonal-f.to help stimulate my eggcells..very depressing, frustrating, sometimes i want to give up and loosing hope..pls help me..
Avatar n tn However, with IVF they have to keep a good balance because if estrogen is too low you would miscarry. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn No you are not too young. Atrophic vaginitis can happen at any age and is due to having low levels of estrogen which happens when you are breastfeeding. I had this same problem after having my daughter and was prescribed vagifem and premarin estrogen cream – was a lifesaver! Your problem will not go away until your estrogen levels return to normal and even then you may still need some local estrogen to help heal your sore tissues - get yourself a new doc!
Avatar f tn I have been treated for a yeast infection twice since the chlamydia, but most of the time there is no itch, never an odor, and my vagina is always dry...sometimes the skin even peels. But after a couple of days, it starts to go away. Then the cycle repeats. I am soooo scared and frustrated. Please help if anyone has any ideas.
Avatar f tn I've had 2 UTI's with KP in the last few months. Both had very low counts of bacteria. No physical cause has been found but I am post menopause and have problems with urinary incontinence so wear pads 24 hours a day. I'm 63 and do not take / use estrogen creams or replacement therapy. NOT sexually active for 5 or more years. Doctor gave me 10 days of Suprax this second time. Will that rid my intestines of the KP? If not, what can I do to prevent this again?
Avatar m tn Genital herpes are typically lesions, not cuts that bleed. Yeast or bacterial infections, or low estrogen, can cause symptoms like yours. You need to be seen by a medical provider for your symptoms to be properly examined and diagnosed.
Avatar f tn My doctor wasn't terribly informative after fitting me with a typical ring pessary. While searching online for assistance in insertion and (Especially!!) removal, I ran across an article that suggested that I might need to use an acidifier or estrogen. I'm 57 and postmenopausal; is there any way I can tell, or is this something a doctor must determine? And why couldn't she do that during the exam? Thanks very much for your help; very happy to have found your site!
Avatar f tn I have never had a yeast infection and I'm 49 years old. I'm extremely dry in the area but I've research the topic and I can't find where dryness and yeast infection go together. I'm assuming it does I've taken the pill today and I hope within 24 hours it will be somewhat better. Help !!?
Avatar n tn He called me a week later and told me that my TSH, testosterone, and progestin levels looked normal but he was concerned because my estrogen level was very low -- below 15. He also said that my FSH and LH levels were very low -- 1.2 and 0.2 respectively. He told me that he doesn't know what this means... but that it could be premature ovarian failure (POF).
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn They can then determine if you really are low estrogen. And if it is so low that you have these types of issues, then you can perhaps take BC with estrogen and bump back up to get regulated again. I had the opposite for a good while of TOO much production of estrogen which acted like a natural birth control pill, infrequent periods, melisma on the face (lovely), etc. That was a bummer. But definitely, out of nowhere, hormones can get out of whack.
Avatar f tn It's not your fault, it's due to a low amount of estrogen. Perhaps you should try watching some porn (don't act like you haven't done it before) sometimes all you need is a little visual stimulation. If that's not working then perhaps talk to the gyno about it. I was having issues with low libido as well and it turns out my body wasn't producing enough estrogen so now I take estrogen supplements on top of birth control and my sex drive is back.
Avatar m tn I have an extreme itch on the outside of my vagina. I have no discharge or odor so I don't believe it is a yeast infection. I saw a doctor that decided it was fungus without even looking at it and it's been 3 weeks and no relef from the cream she gave me. Beside the itch the lips and some other areas have become very hard and swollen. I haven't been sexually active for several months and I'm post menapause. Any idea what this is or how to get rid of it?
