Avatar n tn suggested that she discontinue her birth control pill which contains 35 mcg. estrogen. The head aches occur during her period and the pill days, too. Is there a birth control pill that does not cause migrains? She was on the 25 mcg "low" estrogen pill, but she had an ovarian cyst.
Avatar f tn But I have visual migraines that cause me to. E on a low estrogen kind of birth control, so it was that, pill, arm implant, or iud. I did the pill for a while, but I'm not responsible enough to take it daily at the same time.
Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
Avatar n tn m an 18 years old female who has had irregular menstration for the past 2 to 3 years. Last year, I was on the birth control pill (Marvelon 21) to regulate my periods which I had a lack of due to low estrogen levels because of, mainly, being overweight. I have not been on the pill since July 2007. I am just wondering, is it possible to become pregnant if I have not had my period for the past 4 to 5 months?
938326 tn?1300878804 ) I will have 4 children altogether when this one is born, 13, 12, 1, and newest. I want to go on some kind of birth control that wont have long lasting effects if I decide again to have another. I am unable to take the pill. I have read some negative things on the shots and on the rings. I had an IUD in for 6 years in between my oldest children, but wanted to avoid that route again. Any suggestions? I just want to be prepared, and avoid another pregnancy so soon.
Monster Hi, I have been on seasonique (generic) for over a year now. Ever since that time my body has gone down hill with a lot of things such as skin problems, nail problems, hair dryness, no libido. I was wondering if it could be the seasonique doing it?

Avatar f tn Hey ladies, i've been putting thought into what Birth Control method I want to use after baby gets here. Ive heard a lot of different suggestions, but i'd like to read some personel experiences? Much thanks.
Avatar f tn I have some info on my profile about breastfeeding as a form of birth control. It's in my 'journals'. My midwife told me that estrogen free birth control is the safest while nursing. Estrogen can dry up your milk and if it doesn't, might cause issues with baby. Estrogen free versions include the paragaurd iud, the depo shot, and the 'mini pill' (progesterone only daily pill). I'd definitely decide what you want to do before baby comes!
Avatar f tn While breastfeeding my doctor gave me the pills either with low estrogen or no estrogen I can't remember and I was fine..
7677085 tn?1395374075 I didn't bleed at all on the shot @MrsAliciaWeat, but I did gain about sixty pounds the six months I was on it. @kelleyrenee, does the patch have estrogen? I'm interested but I can't use an estrogen based birth control while nursing. When women say their birth control dried them up it's typically due to the estrogen, so my midwife doesn't ever offer estrogen options to her patients that breastfeed.
Avatar f tn Answers please experienced moms...WHICH BIRTH CONTROL WOULD YOU ALL CONSIDER THE MOST BEST AFTER YOU DELIVER YOU BABY AND MOST ACCURATE??? This my first baby and this will be my first time using birth control unsure of which one to use... PLEASE HELP THANKS LADIES!!!!
Avatar f tn My blood work came back and I have low estrogen levels. The insurance won't cover the medication I was prescribed. Does anyone have an idea of a generic brand I can take or something over the counter?
Avatar n tn ) And it balances your estrogen. Having too much estrogen causes breasts cysts. My hormones are still messed up and I still have breast cysts :(.
1351105 tn?1277142905 I just recently found out that I have low estrogen levels. I also have endometriosis. I looked up something and it said that estrogen replacement is not the best thing with endometriosis. My soon to be husband and I are trying for another baby but if estrogen levels are low I know that can cause a bigger issue on being able to conceive. And I don't want to go back onto birth control due to the fact that we're trying for another.
Avatar m tn I have been on Loestrin for about 4 months now, true it is low in hormones but I am taking it continuously for Endometriosis so I haven't had any spotting at all. Loestrin itself means low in estrogen.
7385294 tn?1412105739 Can u take birth control when breastfeeding? Like the pill needle patch.. can u do all of it still? Im not sure what i wanna take yet..
Avatar f tn I had the opposite for a good while of TOO much production of estrogen which acted like a natural birth control pill, infrequent periods, melisma on the face (lovely), etc. That was a bummer. But definitely, out of nowhere, hormones can get out of whack. My estrogen righted itself without intervention but sometimes there is some needed. When at the doctor to talk about your hormones, talk about your PDD too. Having imbalanced hormones would compound that problem.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Topomax 50mg a day (25 morning and 25 night) since January 20th, for weight loss. I've lost 50 lbs. Two months ago , my doctor put me on an ultra low dose birth control pill, for continuous birth control, to prevent pregnancy, as Im having a "date" in august, and because I have heavy periods. I understand that Topomax can decrease the effectiveness of the birth control pill.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 36wks +2 and was wondering about birth control and breast feeding. I plan on breast feeding for 6 months; yet I want to get on the pill immediately after I have my daughter. Will the pill have any effect on her? Is it not recommended to take the pill while breast feeding?? Please help, thanks.

Avatar f tn most common reason for lowish free T4 and high total T3 with normal TSH ----- birth control pill or other estrogen treatment. No thyroid meds needed if this is the case.
Avatar f tn Anyway I have been doing alot of research and stumbled across a condition called Estrogen Dominance which can be caused by the Birth Control Pill and how Estrogen Dominance can affect the thyroid. http://outsmartdisease.com/how-estrogen-dominance-can-ruin-your-thyroid-health/ I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on this? and if anyone has gone through the same thing.
