Avatar m tn FSH enter the blood circulation and stimulates the ovary to release Estradiol (E2) So this pathway explains at least in part the low Estradiol, but the interesting observation is the continuous feedback loop- at the end of this pathway where Estradiol turns off the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone when it reaches the hypothalamus, in order to start the Estradiol release cycle all over again!
Avatar n tn I'm a 41 year old male with low-T (free T: 23.2; Total T: 141). My Endo prescribed Androderm 5mg patches daily, and it took about 4 days and I suddenly felt great: no depression, lots of energy & vigor, libido was up, I was outgoing and excited about life. After feeling great for 1 day, the effects disappeared and I am back to the same drained and low-energy shell of a human.
374593 tn?1257879950 s office right before they trigger me.. this time they said it was a little low, but thats to be expected with the femara (since it blocks estrogen production) Anyone know what that can do if its low? THANKS SO MUCH!
Avatar f tn hi i made estradiol and repeat test it shows low level of LH+FSH and low estradiol i mamde brain MRI which showed normal and indicated secondary amenorrhea my gyn suggest to start hormonal tab called estradiol valerate 2mg+norgestrel 0.
Avatar f tn t absorbing it which would imply that your symptoms are from the loss of your ovaries and not the estradiol itself. I am also on estradiol tablets but I don't take mine orally. I either insert them vaginally or let them dissolve between my cheek and gum (transbuccal). And I use a higher dose of 1mg. My Rx is for 2mg but since I don't take them orally / swallow (no first pass through the liver), I cut them in half and only take 1mg. The use of only 1/2 pill makes it dissolve faster too.
Avatar n tn I really believe this is all being caused by fluctuating hormones, since my symptoms of lightheadedness and low blood sugar occur before my period and a little during. I am also working on my diet, no sugar and adding a lot of vegetables and juicing. It's been helping me with less low sugar symptoms. May try adding progesterone cream( Pro-gest) only after checking with my OBGYN to see if my levels need it. Take care and hope you start feeling better.
Avatar f tn By the lab ranges, your estrogen is on the high side. But in the perimenopausal time frame leading up to menopause, hormone levels can fluctuate wildly and can cause just as many "menopausal" symptoms as low estrogen.
Avatar n tn I have most of the classic symptoms with Low Testosterone: Low libido, fat in mid-section, fatigue, grumpy, low stamina, medium/weak erections etc., Went to my Urologist. After blood work, he said I was fine and prescribed nothing. I'm thinking he's crazy. Can someone review my readings and give me an unofficial recommendation? I'm thinking I should've been recommended some sort of therapy, and if so, which therapy is good for my situation?
Avatar n tn 6 (reference range 2 - 18 ng/mL) ESTRADIOL - 30 (reference range 13 - 54 pg/mL) SHBG - 32 (reference range 7 - 49 nmol/L) I was thinking I need to lower my SHBG and ESTRADIOL levels since my % Free Testosterone is off the charts low. Maybe I need more free testosterone. I really don't know much about this, please let me know what you think. Thanks !
Avatar n tn A related discussion, high level of estradiol and low level LH was started.
Avatar n tn I am really stressing. My progesterone has gone up each time. I am taking 2 mg Estradiol 3 times per day and am now on the patches changing them every day. Any ideas? Does this mean I am not pregnant?
865758 tn?1285952904 Previous to that my OB/GYN diagnosed me with low estrogen. My estradiol level was 42. When my endo doc ran the TPO antibody test he also checked my testosterone levels and they have come back high. Does the thyroid cause all these other imbalances as well? My endo suggested peri menopause because of the Hashimoto's and I have all the symptoms but afraid that it is just the thyroid messing everything up.
1493378 tn?1288707991 my period came on december 4, so today is exactly 1 week after my period. Does low estradiol level means that i'm not ovulating yet? Advices needed please....thanks,!!!
Avatar f tn I am glad to say that your FSH, Estradiol, LH, Prolactin and TSH are all normal for cycle day 3. The Estradiol should be low on cycle day 3 and the FSH, just as you said. If they were high then you would have a problem. You are not close to menopause. I do think you should see a specialist to help you get pregnant . They can do further work up on you as well as your husband. But good news, you are not menopausal.
7649183 tn?1393014236 Hello, Several studies have already shown that lower-than-standard doses of hormone therapy can relieve menopausal symptoms and prevent bone loss. Menostar is an ultra, ultra low-dose estrogen patch (0.014 mg/day) that has recently been approved for unopposed estrogen use in postmenopausal women. It is indicated for bone protection only and does not offer any vasomotor symptom relief. You can get these patches prescribed.
1418198 tn?1483277496 t know tons, but I know that I have low estradiol along with low progestrone and that is preventing me from having a regular period each month, which prevents ovulation. Is your level's high or low?
216278 tn?1308861082 Really? I have been upset all afternoon - isn't my estradiol too low? my prolactin too high? I'm going back to the RE....I have a consult on March 5th.
Avatar f tn Estradiol can suppress fsh, so that could be why you fsh was so low. From what I understand cysts sometime increase Estradiol. I currently have a cyst, but my Estradiol came back under 50 with was good. I have a high fsh, between 18-20, but one cycle it was 5 and my Estradiol was 80 which meant it was suppressing my fsh. Hope you get some answers!
Avatar m tn I recently took some blood tests which show normal levels of IGF-1, Prolactin, Testosterone, Estradiol, but low levels of Luteinizing Hormone and low levels of Follicule Stimulating Hormone. Does this indicate anything?
Avatar n tn It is hard to predict. The higher levels of estrogen may promote the midcycle LH surge, which is what urine OPKs look for. If this happens, the surge might come a couple of days earlier. This is called positive feedback. On the other hand, the higher estrogen levels my inhibit LH (this is called negative feedback) delaying the surge. You will need to test for ovulation to find out.
Avatar f tn I had a CCT and had slightly unfavorable results (Day 3 FSH 9.6, Estradiol 72, Day 10 FSH 16.1, Estradiol 482). We are planning to start IVF this cycle. During my baseline today, I had only 5 total antral follicles, and my ovary size was smallish. I am extremely discouraged. I started Acupuncture 3 weeks ago, and wish I had started sooner. Can in still help me conceive or have a successful IVF cycle with these results? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn Hi my estrogen was low on 2nd day in this cycle (my lab results said lesser than 37) but my RE said that he wants low estrogen on 2nd day and that it will normally increase in the process. Apparently bad news is if you have high estrogen on day 2. I am in natural cycle IVF and my follicle has developed well and my uterus lining is good. I am having aspiration tomorrow - so it did not look like there was a problem even though estrogen was low on 2nd day. I hope all works well for you. Good luck.
