Avatar f tn Hi, everybody. I've been experiencing hot flashes, hair loss, irregular periods, and dry eyes for several months. I had my hormone and thyroid levels tested twice, and, while everything technically came back normal, my estradiol (52 pg/ml) level concerns me. I've read that anything below the 50 pg/ml mark is not a good sign. Is this true? Does this number suggest that I'm in the early stages of premature ovarian failure, or are there other causes of low estradiol?
Avatar m tn She recently saw her endocrinologist and was informed that her FSH and Estrodiol levels were extremely loW, her cortisol levels are normal. He did an MRI of the pituitary and found nothing and now wants her to go to her gyno because he can't seem to figure it out. Can anyone shed some light on what the cause could be, this has been a frustrating ordeal, please help!
Avatar f tn insomnia, constipation/bloating, hair loss on head, new hair growth on face, intense premenstrual cramping and lower back pain, low libido, dryer skin, and just last night I had my first night sweat. I also now have chronic dark circles under my eyes and have noticed more brown spots on my face. I've had a ton of different hormones tested, all of which have been within normal range, and "good" according to my doctor. My thyroid is normal. My day-2 FSH is 5.8.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if anyone here has levels of FSH and LH like I do. I did some blood work at my doctors office mid cycle, almost eactly mid cycle and here were the results: Estradiol: 478 pg/ml Estrogens: Total 558 pg/ml FSH: 0.7 L (mlu/ml) LH: 4.9 mlu/ml Progesterone: 1.8 ng/ml Testosterone: 87 ng (slightly high) I have extremely painfull periods and have been unable to concieve for a couple years.
Avatar f tn Im also going through hair loss. I counted all the hairs I lost in a day and it was just over 100 hairs in and after the shower! Im getting worried cause my hair is fine to start with. My pubic hair is also very different, nearly blonde, dry and breaks..weird. My TSH is 6.3 (0.5-4.5) FT4 is 16 (10-20) FT3 is 4.2 (3.5-6.0) Could it be my FT3?

The most serious effect from high doses is that estrogen (the active ingredient in Incurin) may have a tumour-promoting effect in target organs with estrogen receptors, such as the mammary gland. Avatar f tn We had an early loss/chemical pregnancy two months ago and my doctor does not know if the low hormone levels caused the loss or if the low hormone levels are as a result of the loss. When I got pregnant the first time which led to the early loss I had a strong surge on my chart (.6 rise in BBT) and since the chemical my BBT rise is very low (only .
Avatar n tn I have all the symptoms for Hypothyroidism (except low libido). I have had these for several years. i.e.
Avatar f tn Research has shown that a large proportion of women reporting hair loss had low ferritin levels, compared with the levels generally found in women without hair loss, and interestingly in men. The main reason for this difference is due to the loss of blood during menstruation, which is just enough to cause a gradual depletion of iron stores, particularly in women who eat little or no red meat.
Avatar m tn I swear doctors should not give them to you until they can sit down with you and go over them. What I know is that in your teens, estrogen is low and testosterone is high. As we get older, our estrogen level increases. That's normal. A lot of times as our estrogen level gets higher, our testosterone level gets lower. This equates a bit to the old cliché about sex drive in men, being crazy in the teens and less so as we get old.
Avatar m tn s nice to actually be warm on occasion. The hair loss is terrible. I have dark hair and fair skin so it is pretty noticeable and coupled with the weight gain I am having serious self esteem issues. I'm also immensely fatigued. This is not new but is intense. I've also started waking up early and can't get back to sleep which is only making the fatigue worse. Not sure if there is any other relevant information but please let me know if anything else is important.
Avatar n tn The estradiol supresses this mechanism, allowing multiple follicles to mature, and making your chlomid or other drugs a better shot at producing multiple eggs.

Avatar f tn hello! I am a 30 year old recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been feeling like garbage recently and have not been able to find a doctor who can help. I recently went through my lab results from September and see my Estradiol is <5.00 pg/mL. I am also on Lo Loestrin. Can the birth control be causing the very low numbers, my PCOS, something else? The numbers are those of someone in menopause, so it is a bit concerning. Any insight is appreciated!
Avatar n tn About a year ago I went to the doctor and had blood test ran and found out that I was low on testerone. I had the same symptoms you are having. Your testeron levels should be tested in the morning because this is when your levels should be at their highest. I am 30 years old and having this problem. I began taking testerone and have had amazing results with energy and loss of the fatigue.
Avatar m tn I have gone through menopause at 47, with FSH, LH, Estradiol fluctuating high and low, but the most recent has barely detectable estradiol. My symptoms (which overlap rhuematoid perhaps but not definitive enough for an actual diagnosis -- UCTD is sort of a catch all dx when you don't fit one -- RA, sjorgens, SLE, etc.
Avatar n tn Every lab has ranges, but that seem super low. Were any other androgen levels tests - LH, FSH, dhea sulfate, any testosterone levels, or SHBH? Estrogen and testosterone are related and estrogen comes from multiple sources.
Avatar f tn Thyroid was my biggest concern, because I had read about fatigue and hair loss being connected with a low thyroid. Also pregnancy can mess with the thyroid. My thyroid came back in range. With these numbers- free t3- 3.0 range ( 2.5-4.0) free t4-0.95 range (0.60-150) tsh-1.98 range (0.30-3) My Ferritin was very low at 14.4 range (11-307) My Doctor basically smiled and said I was healthy than most and I was just experiencing postpartum hair loss.
