The lower the glycemic value, the better. There are a lot of other lists available on the internet - just do a search for "low glycemic foods". Most vegetables "qualify" as low glycemic, except things like white potatoes, etc.

Could I eat food of low glicemic index, and still obtain the amount of carbohydrates required daily???? It crept up slowly on me, but when my A1C broke through 7.0, I was given 90 days to see a significant drift downward, or begin a drug therapy. I immediately began a paleo style diet. I refused to eat anything containing "white"; bread, sugar, rice, potatoes, pasta...PASTA!!. I also shunned grains of any kind like rolled oats, wheat. Also out were honey, most fruits, lots of types of beans, peas, and corn.
Tbd I do know that carbohydrates raise BG... ALL carbohydrates will raise your BG. brown rice is a carb and will raise BG, so is wheat, potato, sugar and most fruits.
