Avatar f tn hi has any one done the slim fast diet----(milkshakes) and lost weight. How lond could u go on for? I'm planning to go on it but will do only one shake for dinner and have breakfast and lunch as normal.
776302 tn?1241091853 If your goal is to lose weight, and make a significant impact on your blood glucose levels, stop eating carbohydrates. You don't need Herbalife to accomplish that goal. All it takes is the will power to replace a carbohydrate rich food with one that contains protein and fat. I know it sounds counter-intuitive to eat fat to lose fat, but until you read up on a low carb lifestyle, trust me on this.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to drink slim fast while pregnant? I have gained too much weight so far. I started out tiny and now my mid section is huge! I'm not looking to lose weight but eating hurts. My lower back is in excruciating pain and I know it's from the weight gain and due to my belly sticking so far out. I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I feel the only option is to eat tiny meals to keep up my energy because after I eat my stomach feels so tight b it just hurts.
Avatar f tn Hi there im on a diet and was wondering what kind of fruits would be low carb or any kinda low carb snacks for in between meals or at lunch time ?
1279364 tn?1280682588 m counting points but I am also chugging back a weight loss shake everyday as part of those points. There is no way I could ever do the Slim-Fast plan or anything like it. I just like the amount of nutrients in the form of chocolate milk i can get! Makes a great difference if I need a boost before working out or just need something to keep me going while I make dinner. ^_^ Anyways, some of them certainly don't taste very good. My favorite so far comes from Wal-Mart.
Avatar f tn I heard of so many diets but i feel like am depriving my self I try to eat high protein and some carb and not skipping the 3 meals, I also wanna try the protein shakes but am afraid of side effects, oh and by the way I generally train from 2 to 3 times a week, Depending on my free time, so what are your advices so I can have toned and feminin body without getting bulky or even lose too much weight and look like a zombie, what's the perfect meal plan for me ?
193609 tn?1292180293 I keep some Slim Fast shakes (or sometimes a store brand) in the fridge for those times when I don't have time for breakfast or just something quick. They come in several flavors and served ice cold, they are quite tasty.
Tbd Hi, depending how long you have had diabetes, and your overall condition, losing weight and changing your diet to a strict low carb diet / keto diet, could possibly put your diabetes into remission or at worst make it very much easier to manage. The principle of low carb diet is restricting carbs, particularly all grains, sugars, starchy veges and sweet fruits, and eating a diet that focusses more on protein, low carb plant foods (veges and non-sweet fruits), some nuts, and healthy fats.
585414 tn?1288941302 My disability tardive akathesia causes me to remain in motion all the time so constant weight loss is a given. I went down to a weight that was too low according to my doctor but I drank Glucerna everyday and gained it back.
Avatar m tn Well, I know you say you don't have time to get to the gym, but that is what will boost your appetite and help build the muscle you're looking for. Even if you can't do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.
1407457 tn?1281317353 s why most of us have weight issues. Low carb diets are way HARD to follow. I mean some only allow you 30 carbs a day...which is nothing! And very hard for somebody to live like that. I follow my diet/weight on a site called (without all the spaces) www.m y f i t n e s s p a l.com and I love it! It totals all the amounts of calories, fats, carbs, sugars and almost anything else. Here are a few tips that I picked up while I was at my lowest weight (271 with a weight loss of 62lbs!
Avatar m tn As commented earlier read carefully the nutrition label. Avoid those with high sugar and high carb contents. If sugar is listed under carbs, I like it it be 1 gram or less. I don't believe in eating fake foods so I cannot comment on what else they put into these shakes. Try eating foods made with whole grains, nuts and more vegies, fish, poultry and lean meats.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the community. Try walking at a reasonable pace. Also look into yoga as it's low impact and done at a slow very deliberate pace. Be sure to watch what you eat as well - might also help the e-coli infection.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, it would be really difficult to do that, what with everyone having different restrictions (low sodium, low carb, low sugar, sugar free, lactose intolerance, gluten free, etc.), allergies, taste preferences, cooking skills, and the like. Perhaps visiting with a nutritionist would benefit you, so your diet can be personally tailored to you and your needs. I'm sorry we can't be of more service.
2083449 tn?1381354708 You did Minn! You sure did! Really, for me, this is the absolute best stuff I've found! I like the high protein and low sugar! The other drinks/shakes have way to much sugar for me. Finally, I feel like I found something that really helps me! Thanks Minn, this may just need to be added to Secret Detoxers Survival kit! LOL! Love you!
Avatar m tn YOu may be better off stopping the protein drinks and avoiding all sugars. Low carb, moderate protein, high fat diet is the best proven tool for helping to control blood sugars. Please see a doctor asap for testing. come back and let us know how you go.
Avatar n tn The thing about fasting is to force your body to burn fat during the fasting period, however, if you are someone who eats high carb and high protein and low fat, intermittent fasting is too strong a switch. During fasting, you should burn fat, and to do this, insulin levels must be low. If during your fasting window you have high insulin circulating in your body, you will not be able to burn fat AND your blood sugar will go so low that you will feel fatigued and lethargic.
Avatar f tn The most effective diet is one that incorporates plenty of lean protein (chicken, fish, lean beef, beans, etc), low/no fat dairy, 5-7 servings of vegetable daily, 1-2 servings of fruit, whole grains, plenty of water and no junk food, which includes anything made with processed (table sugar) and white flour, white rice, etc. Has to be lifestyle changes; not just a "diet". You have to also incorporate a moderate exercise program.
Avatar m tn For fast weight gain, try protein shakes and specialty foods geared towards bodybuilders in the 'bulking' phase, as well as refined carb-heavy foods like pasta and bread, and high fat snacks like cheese and preserved meats. I also highly reccomend peanut butter. Add three teaspoons of peanut butter a day to your diet and you'll be heavier in a flash.
Avatar f tn any tips on cravings.. im not on slim-fast but it is a shakes and soup diet... also any exercise tips for being quite obese... the thought of doing anything like the biggest loser makes me feel sick.. something gentle but effective... any takers?
