Common Questions and Answers about Low blood sugar exercise symptoms

blood-sugar

Avatar n tn This doesn't make sense. If you have low blood sugar, you are a diabetic - hypoglycemic. Did you ask your doctor why he/she feels you have low glucose when your tests say otherwise? For a doctor to come to such a conclusion there must be something going on that's not being disclosed . Call him/her if for clarification.
Avatar n tn Hi, Can I ask what insulins you take? Are you on pump or MDI (multiple daily injections). Is your basal insulin taken once or twice a day. If you are going low from exercise, you may need to decrease your basal (this is easier if you are on a pump). Alternatively you may plan your exercise after eating and inject slightly less than usual insulin for the meal, as the exercise will naturally bring your blood sugars down.

Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Various things can lead to low blood sugars. If you go without eating for a period of time, your blood sugar can drop, or if you exercise strenuously (especially if you do both in combination). If you are on insulin than taking too much insulin for the carbs you are eating can definitely cause low blood sugars and these can be the more dangerous kind because you can drop very rapidly. If you are getting frequent lows, talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn Has anyone dealt with low blood sugar during pregnancy? I took my 1 hr glucose test- I had black coffee prior to the drinking the glucose drink, then 1 hr of nothing and my blood draw. My level came back at 65. My midwiNenmade a passing comment about it bein low and watching for symptoms of lightheadedness but wasn't concerned. What were your numbers if you were deemed low blood sugar? Any other symptoms? Thanks!
1947337 tn?1331423890 ll be thinking of you tomorrow, and most definately mention the low blood sugar to your dr. I would suggest you keep some orange juice also in the frig, but at low 50's is very low. If your feeling funny I had to give my dad a 1/2 spoon of sugar to get it back up quick. I also have learned if you over exercise this could cause your sugar to drop. Let us know about your appt. Wish you the best.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately its not fat that raises BG but carbohydrates that raise BG (blood sugar). All carbs raise BG, reduce carbs have lower BG.
Avatar n tn My blood sugar swings from low to high , its been as low as 52 in the morning to 210 2 hours after a meal any body got any advice , it can really make u feel strange .
Avatar m tn When the production of insulin is low, you will have sugar trapped in the blood stream. when you test your blood sugar using the glucometer, the number you see reflects on how much sugar is trapped in the blood stream. hope this is what you are looking for! if you are looking for something more, please be more specific with your question.
Avatar f tn I have low blood pressure as well and have seen several doctors about it. they act as if it isn't anything..they did their run of the mill tests, but found nothing and sent me on my way. My b/p runs 90/60 and goes down to 80/50. i feel like crap, but the doctors seem to blow me off. I hope you get to the bottom of your problem....it's been a couple years and I've gotten nowhere.
4250330 tn?1388621179 Try a coke, or anything sugary that can get into your system fast. When I was 22 weeks I had my blood pressure bottom out, which had very similar symptoms to low sugar. My dr said that the low bp was normal as long as it wasn't all the time, because baby could of been on a vein or something. When it happened I drank a soda, and sat down with my head as far between my knees as I could get it(belly was in the way lol). I'd bring it up to your dr at your next appt though!

Avatar n tn My son has been diabetic for 35 years and has always had a problem with low blood sugar that comes on so rapidly that we have barely enough time to get some nourisment in him. Lately, in the past 3 months, he has had a sezure in bed around 5;00am with out any warning. This of course is very scary for his wife and son. Is there anything that can be done to help detect this coming on when a person is sound asleep?
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar m tn What is your blood sugar and did you test it before eating anything in the morning or did you test it soon after eating (like 1 or 2 or 3 hours after eating)?
Avatar f tn But if the person is still in their honeymoon phase then their own body still produces some insulin which further affects blood sugar. However there are other things that can affect blood sugar including illness, stress and even more subtle things for some such as temperature, hot showers, etc.
Avatar m tn s important to exercise to put those sugar to good use, diet to limit the amount of sugar, and the right medication to control your sugar level. Numerous factor that can affect the level of insulin that your body produce. Your insulin is being produced in your pancreas via the beta cell. So the first place to look would be the pancreas.
Avatar m tn Every time she attempts to do any exercise, her blood sugar sky rockets! She can just do sit ups and stretches and her sugar can go from 135 to 450 in a matter of minutes. She has to take insulin before and check her sugar before, during and after exercise. It isn't the same for every diabetic, but if her blood sugar doesn't do as my daughters does, then it is the best thing for a diabetic.
