1947337 tn?1331423890 ll be thinking of you tomorrow, and most definately mention the low blood sugar to your dr. I would suggest you keep some orange juice also in the frig, but at low 50's is very low. If your feeling funny I had to give my dad a 1/2 spoon of sugar to get it back up quick. I also have learned if you over exercise this could cause your sugar to drop. Let us know about your appt. Wish you the best.
Avatar n tn Today about 20 minutes after my lunch I started sweating, feeling weak, heart racing, etc. I checked my blood sugar and it was 71 after eating a chicken salad, salad. I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar m tn After recent foot surgery I incurred a bad infection and was forced to have another surgery to abate complicatons in closing of wound. They cleaned wound out and restitched the wound. It finally closed and healed but the doctor said you are a slow healer. It took 2 months to heal. In all I was in a flexible cast about three months and gained a significant amount of weight.

Avatar n tn m betting that he needs an intervention at perhaps the emergency room if his blood sugar is low. Low blood sugar affects every organ of the body. The O2 readings you report would concern me very much, and I'd suggest going to an emergency facility as soon as possible. Recently I was hospitalized for surgery to my stomach, and my blood sugar levels fell, followed by my by blood pressure (much lower than what you report), and my O2 level dropped into the high 80% areas.

Avatar f tn Magnesium is important in the rhythm control of the heart -- low magnesium indirectly causes low blood pressure by affecting the function of the heart.
Avatar f tn I have always had very low blood pressure and was recently told it was too low,, low sugar(glucose),;ow cholesterol, all indicative of how I eat , not what was assumed because of my size and rapid weight gain weekly. I went to doctor and told him my symptoms, at first he giggled and said by looking at you I know you do not have hyperthyroids.
Avatar n tn This doesn't make sense. If you have low blood sugar, you are a diabetic - hypoglycemic. Did you ask your doctor why he/she feels you have low glucose when your tests say otherwise? For a doctor to come to such a conclusion there must be something going on that's not being disclosed . Call him/her if for clarification.
Avatar m tn My Father 77 yo and already have diabetic since 25 years ago but now he get low blood sugar (50 - 70) after he take oral medicine for deabetic. He get receipt from cardiologist monthly because he have chf also. What i/he have to do?

Avatar f tn I've been hypoglycemic (have low blood sugar) since I was very little. You need to have peanut butter crackers or some almonds on hand at all times if you're getting low blood sugar. Gum will only help for a little while. Candies and stuff are high in sugar but they don't last as long. The protein in nuts and peanut butter raises your sugar and keeps it up for a good while.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Avatar f tn I have not heard about MS and low blood sugar being related. I do know that there are many people that have MS and diabetes. Still the doctor's say they are not related. I still have the gut feeling that they are related. Please make sure that your doctor is aware of these times of low blood sugar. You don't want to take any chances with your health.
Avatar f tn I have been told that you will not go into low blood sugar with Metformin. I would like to know if this it true as I take Metformin and have had low blood sugar several times.
Avatar n tn Numerous people have told me it is either low blood sugar or low potassium and I am beginning to think they have a point. If after all, I did not have anything to eat for about seven hours and only had a sandwich for breakfast, it seems plausible. I do see how this can also be very serious however, but I am probably going to see a doctor soon. I just had a check up about a week ago or two and they did not find anything wrong. Thanks for your response though.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar m tn i am afraid if he falls and hurt himself. cardiologist says he has leaky valve and congestive heart failure. why do you think his blood is so low , what can we do, he is also anemic but not being treated for anemia. his thyroid was checked and it was normal. please advise what we can do next. thank you.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar n tn It sounds like he may have had an allergic reaction to the Vicodin. Did they check his blood sugar? I know you said he was eating but I'm sure he did'nt eat before his surgery. His blood sugar may have been low. With having the surgery, not eating and taking a pain med that he may have been allergic to, that could have caused him to faint. If I were you I would still take him for tests just to be safe. Please keep us up to date on how he's doing.
