Lovenox vs aspirin

Common Questions and Answers about Lovenox vs aspirin

lovenox

Avatar n tn I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.
513660 tn?1217171919 Any one out there feel differently? I am thinking of requesting Lovenox in addition to aspirin for next round. Any benefits or harm? How do you all feel? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Also my perinatal doctor said from recently study, aspirin is not helpful with MTHFR. He said Lovenox can help but not aspirin. I did suggest to increase my Lovenox but my OB thinks that is not necessary. I had an ultrasound with my perinatal doctor 3 weeks after I stopped aspirin. Everything looks fine. Also my OB said the way to know if my placenta is working fine is to see if baby is gaining weight normally, which he is. I will have another ultrasound 10 weeks later(31 weeks).
Avatar f tn Do not take these medicines while on it - Aspirin...??? what? Then she advised me that I can eat greens..?? Talk about way to much stress and confusion 2 weeks before my surgery.......
Avatar n tn We are 8w5d pregnant now. Our RE recommended Lovenox/Prednisone/Baby Aspirin. How do you know when it's safe to stop each med? Nurse said it's usually through 12 weeks. But I have seen other people say online they took Lovenox until 36 weeks. Since this protocol worked, I'm scared to stop any of them. Thanks.
Avatar n tn we were going to a fertility specialist and finally was able to get pregnant again the doc put me on lovenox, baby aspirin, and progesterone..looks like everything is going fine with this pregnancy..Im 9.3 weeks due Feb 21st.
Avatar m tn I was given the choice between staying on the baby aspirin or switching to Heparin (same as Lovenox), I decided to stay on the baby aspirin. I am now almost at 33 weeks and stopped worrying about this blood clot mutation. Your daughter is 12 weeks: miscarriages because of this type of blood clot mutations occur generally in the 1st trimester so she is already past the delicate time.
645220 tn?1233764146 I was taking aspirin - full dose prior to getting pregnant. I will only be on Lovenox for about another week - I have an appointment on Thursday - and then probably go back to aspirin but I believe they said when I deliver I will probably go back to the lovenox for a bit. The thing to remember with the pre-filled syringes - flick at the tube so that the air bubble is at the top then gently push the syring up to remove the air, then inject.
Avatar n tn The most widely studied and prescribed antiplatelet agent for the prevention of stroke and other serious vascular events among high vascular risk patients is aspirin. I take aspirin daily prior to CHF.. Plavix and aspirin for preventing stroke and other serious vascular events in high vascular risk patients. Up to one year after a stent implant, plavix and aspirin are the recommended protocol as statistics have shown a high risk for clot.
Avatar m tn My last pregnancy I took extra folic acid, B vitamins, and baby aspirin for good emasure. Now I have gotten a surprise BFP and my doc is talking about Lovenox (low dose). Maternal fetal medicine says NO WAY its too risky without having a diagnosed blood clotting disorder, but my OB and RE are willing to put me on it. I'm concerned about the risks (to myself, I know it won't affect the baby). Is it all that risky? Could it help in my situation?
374593 tn?1257879950 Hi Bny807! I have always been given aspirin as a part of my regimin(sp?). My last cycle was a BFP but I miscarried at 8 1/2 weeks (no fetal pole, no heart beat). I have a DVT (recurring blood clot) in my left leg and am sometimes placed on Lovenox to help thin my blood. When I am taking aspirin, I don't have to take the Lovenox...Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn 1) Have you ever heard of lovenox injections to prevent further clots in stents and 2) what are the risks from lovenox to her relatively healthy kidneys (after 30+ yrs of diabetes)? Thank you for your good advice. You were the only Dr. who said E.R.
287479 tn?1272730364 Turns out I have a bloody clotting disorder. I got pregnant again (and started the Lovenox injections) and everything was going well until last week. I began having spotting. My hcg was increasing, but my progesterone dropped quickly and I lost the baby. My husband and I are giving this one more shot. My doctor wants to start me on Clomid next month, along with one baby aspirin a day and and folic acid until I get pregnant.
1563422 tn?1295063450 should I still be on a prescribed vitamin like folgard as well as a LD aspirin? Is there anything else I should know before ttc again?
Avatar n tn RE had me start Lovenox after 2nd beta (I have been on baby aspirin and am continuing). My question is, with a low-med positive is Lovenox indicated. RE says he is being extra cautious, which I respect. But, could it cause any problem with the baby or pregnancy if it is NOT needed. Also, could the elevated ACL have anything to do with my infertility? Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn i give birth 6 weeks ago i had blood clots in my lungs they gave me lovenox inj? the medicaid was covering it, but now after my pregnancy ended they stoped the medicaid and i cannot afford seeing the dr or the inj. i still got 5000mg heparin but i dont use because after my pregnancy ended they swithed me to lovenox i now take only asprin 325mg am i at risk what can do about it !!
Avatar f tn I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.
1085628 tn?1326551885 I got my BFP at 8 or 9 dpo, and I went in to see her IMMEDIATELY. She started me on lovenox the same day...30mg twice a day. She kept me on the baby aspirin and Folgard, which contained 4400mcg folic acid, in addition to my 800mcg that I get from my prenatals. I also take fish oil 1000mg twice a day as it has natural blood thinning properties. I am now 34 1/2 weeks along, and we have a scheduled induction for 38 weeks. I absolutely cannot wait to meet my little man!!!
Avatar f tn and yes, it is an acutal blood clotting disorder, which is why lovenox and/or 81 mgs of aspirin is a must. the reason why mthfr causes miscarrage is tiny blood clots get caught in the placenta, which causes the flow of oxygen to get cut off from the fetus thus the pregnancy ends. if you get this disorder you should not ever take birth control again, because bc increases the chance for blood clots. bc with this disorder can be deadly.
Avatar f tn Is that medication similar to lovenox . I take lovenox injections once a day and baby aspirin daily to prevent clots. Lovenox are pretty measured shots that are injected into the stomach.
1524811 tn?1333241301 I was recently diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism after being rushed into L&D unable to breathe. I was prescribed Lovenox by injection twice daily. The prescribing DR knows I'm now 34 weeks pregnant, but when I read the drug disclosure inside the box it states clearly NOT TO BE USED DURING PREGNANCY, CAN CAUSE GASPING SYNDROME & FETAL DEATH.
674725 tn?1367439630 I can TOTALLY relate to the crazy mind games! As for Factor V (full name is Factor V Leiden), it's a blood clotting disorder that affects the way the blood coagulates. It's inherited, and I would have never known about it had it not been for my cousin having a deep vein thrombosis a few years back (her dad and my dad are identical twins). I've been on baby aspirin since my first miscarriage, every day, and now that I'm pregnant, I'm on Lovenox.
Avatar f tn Im 18 weeks, my dr just called this morning saying my bloodwork has shown I should be on lovenox shots once a day. I do not want to be on these shots and have my baby have some wierd side effect because of them. Im pretty holistic and am already on an low dose asprin (which I dont like taking) a day and they still want me to do this. Ive done lots of research but still im torn between following my intuition and following drs orders.
873190 tn?1304812975 Hi girls. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on Lovenox? My RE is putting me on it with this next positive pregnancy. We just ran another series of blood tests and one came back positive for blood clotting. He said this particular type of clot would is associated with second or third trimester losses, whereas all four of my mc have been around five weeks. But he said it is reason enough to do Lovenox. I don't know how long I would have to take it.
