lovenox

1414636 tn?1288284680 I was just wondering if anyone else has had to use this and if there are any side effects or if anyone knows if it's better than heparin or anything like that
Avatar f tn Im 18 weeks, my dr just called this morning saying my bloodwork has shown I should be on lovenox shots once a day. I do not want to be on these shots and have my baby have some wierd side effect because of them. Im pretty holistic and am already on an low dose asprin (which I dont like taking) a day and they still want me to do this. Ive done lots of research but still im torn between following my intuition and following drs orders.
Avatar f tn I have never had any side effects whatsoever w/ either Heparin or Lovenox, so I don't know. Sometimes the anxiety of having to give yourself a shot if you're not used to it can cause angst and side effects :0)...that happened to me my first time. What doseage?
Avatar f tn I've taken lovenox with my last two pregnancies(am pregnant and on it now) and there are no blood tests needed. It's a really really good blood thinner with virtually no side effects. As long as you pinch up enough fat, you shouldn't feel the needles all that much. The drug doesn't cross the placenta so it does no harm at all to the baby.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Any drug is prescribed by a doctor based on the indications and potential side effects expected if any. Usually Prednisolone is no longer used than the first pregnancy test. The heparin, aspirin are usually continued till your 10 weeks gestation is reached. But the exact treatment can be suggested only by your treating infertility expert since she knows best about your medical history. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination.
281219 tn?1219114914 ll tell you to stop taking Lovenox 24 hours prior to c-section and if not, as there is a risk to hemorrage with an epidural, if you do need an emergency c-section or a c-section before the 24-hour timeframe of being off Lovenox, they advised me that I'd be put under general anesthesia.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to use Lovenox and Ibuprofen at the same time? What kind of side effects should I expect if I do so? (I do not experience any pain). 2. Shall I be concerned about permanent implications (ie to kidney, liver etc) of using blood thinner? 3. After 10 days (when I stop the Lovenox), will I need a blood test? 4. How long would it normally take for such an injury to heal?
Avatar n tn Some surgeons request that a patient not be on plavix or warfarin at the time of surgery in order to minimize the risk of bleeding. Traditionally, the effects of plavix on platelets is minimal after 5 days. Usually, blood clots normally about three days after taking warfarin. This is quite variable and can be confirmed by a blood test (either checking INR or prothrombin time), prior to surgery.
Avatar m tn Is considered high risk. Having to take lovenox injections. Just found out Now considered higher risk. Told Lovenox will not be enough for blood clot problems. MY and HER question is: MTHFR mutations, C677T and A1298C information found give pretty much the same explanation; forums understandably give the best outcomes and successes. But, would like to know the other side of the coin as well. Birth defects, what kind, has anyone out here had negative outcomes with these pregnancies?
Avatar f tn I am 4 weeks pregnant, and it was highly suggested (based on the results of bloodwork drawn right before I became pregnant) to take daily Lovenox injections, as I am at risk for bloodclots. This has been the most miserable part of being pregnant, as I am a little wimpy about giving the injections... I am just wondering if anyone else is on or has been on this regimen and and have any luck making it a little less painful and any trick of the trades with avoiding the bruising... THANKS!
1569985 tn?1328247482 Anyway, I split the difference toward the side of limiting clot risk while slightly increasing the risk of bleeding due to (minor) surgery. I find the anesthesia my GI doctor uses usually puts me to sleep, but the last time it just made me "relaxed"... I was awake for the whole exam and polyp removal. So far all polyps have been benign : ) I do not have any sleep problems, other than dreaming. But, I believe sleep apnea is less problematic is one sleeps on their side.
645220 tn?1233764146 Hi I just did my first lovenox injection and think I might not be doing it right. I really had to push very hard for the needle to go in then it stopped about a third of the way and I had to jam it in the rest of the way. does this sound right? I have plenty of fat so it's not as if I got held up on muscle or anything.
Avatar n tn I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.
3233386 tn?1447024695 I did not have any problems or side effects on Lovenox except dark bruises which is to be expected from the injections. Hope everything goes perfect for you!
Avatar n tn Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.
162802 tn?1252121259 i spent 6 days in the hospital and was given 5 shots of Lovenox around my belly button. Lovenox is used to prevent blood clots. I immediately got huge bruises and my abdomen began to swell. I was told it was normal and would go away. With each day the swelling increased and the pain increased. I was discharged and kept going to my surgeon and the ER because the swelling kept growing on the right side of my abdomen. in 5 days it was up to 20lbs.
Avatar f tn Is that medication similar to lovenox . I take lovenox injections once a day and baby aspirin daily to prevent clots. Lovenox are pretty measured shots that are injected into the stomach.
Avatar m tn Everything from risk of infections, pneumonia, and heart disease as well as increased risk of stomach cancer. I am not allowed to refer you to my blog but I know that Dr.Mercola did a great blog with references on his website so you can read more THERE. What to take instead? What I give everyone including my dad! Good pharma grade digestive enzymes and betaine. Works much better and is totally safe.
Avatar f tn Are any of you high risk pregnancies due to a high blood clotting risk (I had multiple bilateral PE in May of last year)? How is your pregnancy coming along? If you are on medicaid for pregnancy, are your heparin/lovenox shots covered by it? I'm worried I won't be able to afford my medication, as my BcBs considers it a specialty drug with a copay of $100 a month! Any input is appreciated!
Avatar f tn Post surgical ovarian failure, whilst uncommon, is a real risk with these surgeries and I was never advised of this risk before my op so I am very upset. I now have to take birth control, and all because of a benign cyst. I get migraines from the pill and I shouldn't be taking it either. I wish I had just left the cyst there. But given your history, I guess they do have to extra careful. Good luck, and I hope things get better for you.
Avatar n tn Anyone taking Lovenox? Im 9 weeks and between the lovenox and the prenat vit I feel groggy all the time..just wondering if lovenox makes you feel bad..
Avatar f tn So I'm going on a daily dose of Lovenox, and I have to have hydroxyprogesterone weekly. I'm getting nervous not so much for me but my fiancé. He takes great care of me and idk if it's hormones but now with baby #2 being a girl it's a risk I may genetically passed or will pass my high blot clot risk to her. What if she has miscarriage problems or risks having going into labor early. I worry about my son too- I just found this information out today.
Avatar f tn Just watch for abnormal bleeding Like bruising a lot or bloody nose and report to doctor. Its more important to prevent a blood clot because it can be so dangerous.
Avatar f tn So for the meantime they put me on coumadin to prevent further strokes and so I am dealing with all the crappy side effects of it and starting to think a tissue valve would be the way to go - even if I have to have it again in 10-15 years....? Just came across your posts and would love to hear your input/experience/advice. Also, sorry to hear about the aneurysm laujac, did you have a BAV by chance? Thanks and good luck!
