lovenox

Avatar f tn Im 18 weeks, my dr just called this morning saying my bloodwork has shown I should be on lovenox shots once a day. I do not want to be on these shots and have my baby have some wierd side effect because of them. Im pretty holistic and am already on an low dose asprin (which I dont like taking) a day and they still want me to do this. Ive done lots of research but still im torn between following my intuition and following drs orders.
1414636 tn?1288284680 I was just wondering if anyone else has had to use this and if there are any side effects or if anyone knows if it's better than heparin or anything like that
Avatar f tn I have never had any side effects whatsoever w/ either Heparin or Lovenox, so I don't know. Sometimes the anxiety of having to give yourself a shot if you're not used to it can cause angst and side effects :0)...that happened to me my first time. What doseage?
645220 tn?1233764146 As scary as it may sound, the air bubble is important in the Lovenox injection. As well as risking losing a small amount of the medication, by flicking the air bubble out you are removing the mechanism that is designed to "lock" the medication in place. I dont know if anyone has ever noticed a small amount of fluid come out of the injection site after taking the needle out? That is the Lovenox escaping because it was not properly "locked" in by the small air bubble.
Avatar f tn I've taken lovenox with my last two pregnancies(am pregnant and on it now) and there are no blood tests needed. It's a really really good blood thinner with virtually no side effects. As long as you pinch up enough fat, you shouldn't feel the needles all that much. The drug doesn't cross the placenta so it does no harm at all to the baby.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Any drug is prescribed by a doctor based on the indications and potential side effects expected if any. Usually Prednisolone is no longer used than the first pregnancy test. The heparin, aspirin are usually continued till your 10 weeks gestation is reached. But the exact treatment can be suggested only by your treating infertility expert since she knows best about your medical history. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have side effects with the progesterone suppositories?
Avatar n tn Some surgeons request that a patient not be on plavix or warfarin at the time of surgery in order to minimize the risk of bleeding. Traditionally, the effects of plavix on platelets is minimal after 5 days. Usually, blood clots normally about three days after taking warfarin. This is quite variable and can be confirmed by a blood test (either checking INR or prothrombin time), prior to surgery.
1704915 tn?1357601254 I ACTUALLY slept last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took the 20mg for me to feel the effects of the amitriptyline last night. It relaxed me and when I went to bed I went right to sleep. I woke up a couple times to gurggling and slight cramping but nothing like I have been experiencing. I was almost so calm that it didn't make me upset and I fell right back to sleep. I did wake up groggy this morning when the alarm went off to do my Lovenox shot at 8am.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to use Lovenox and Ibuprofen at the same time? What kind of side effects should I expect if I do so? (I do not experience any pain). 2. Shall I be concerned about permanent implications (ie to kidney, liver etc) of using blood thinner? 3. After 10 days (when I stop the Lovenox), will I need a blood test? 4. How long would it normally take for such an injury to heal?
Avatar f tn Hi--My Dad is 84 years old and is on Coumadin. Very long story short, he has not been taking his Coumadin medication regularly (along with his diabetes medication, high blood pressure pills, etc. which also can affect his INR readings). When he does go in for INR tests, his INR level is all over the place (sometimes pretty high, could well be doubling up on pills some days) because of the inconsistency in taking his pills, the great variability in his diet and also in his alcohol intake.
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.
1495558 tn?1288805527 this does not sound like a normal reaction, and why, for heavens sake, if she is having these side effects, should she stay on it.
1286779 tn?1400012806 She went to a doctor yesterday about her hair and the doctor told her that it was because of this medication (Lydrica) But I have seen all side effects and none talk about hair lost. And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
Avatar f tn Hi Jennifer, How are you? Medication side effects may or may not occur to patients. You were given pain medication, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and antipsychotic/tranqulizer. You may experience gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sedative effects. However, it is important that any sign of allergic reaction such as difficulty of breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. twitching or tremor will warrant immediate attention. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any side effects from Depakote ER? My 24 year old son was just diagnosed with Seizures, after experiencing several episodes of lost of consciousness. Can anyone out there tell me if they have had constant nausea, fatigue and some heartburn from the medication?
3233386 tn?1447024695 I did not have any problems or side effects on Lovenox except dark bruises which is to be expected from the injections. Hope everything goes perfect for you!
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
