lovenox needle

That's interesting, because I tried googling this a few weeks ago. I've been on Lovenox since April, and once in a while, I'll get a syringe with a needle that just won't penetrate my skin properly. After searching online, I found NOTHING, so I started thinking it was just me...but looks like there's at least two of us then ;-) Let me know how your injection goes tomorrow. It only happens to me every once in a while, so hopefully it's the same for you.

its not a prefilled syringe which i believe that lovenox might be.. but yes when my needle is dull it is hard to get thru my skin and can get stuck half way as well! I did fertilty drugs in my belly for a long time as well so i also think that my skin has just gotten more thick around my stomach and that also might be a cause!.. but no matter what the discomfort the heparin is working, we have made it further this time than any other time and praying this is it!!!

So I am 29 years old and 8 weeks 4 days pregnant today. Was told due to all of my health issues that I would NEVER be able to conceive without any hormonal help. That even if I did I wouldn't be able to carry past 3 or 4 weeks. I have had an unknown clotting problem for the past 13 years. They can't find the culprit. I was on xerelto but once I found out I was pregnant my doc put me on Lovenox subq injections 2x's a day. They hurt badly.

My dr. just started me on Lovenox, I got one + hpt, still waiting on beta confirmation, but anyway, just gave myself an injection of Lovenox and now I am feeling a little light headed. Is this normal? What are some of the side effects I can expect?

You know what? I actually had my DH do the shots in the beginning, but it ended up being easier to just do them myself...and I got less bruises that way too. After a while, you just kinda know how to give it to eliminate (or at least minimize) the bruising. One thing that's important with blood thinning shots, though, is to NOT rub it after, since that may cause bruises.

I am 4 weeks pregnant, and it was highly suggested (based on the results of bloodwork drawn right before I became pregnant) to take daily Lovenox injections, as I am at risk for bloodclots. This has been the most miserable part of being pregnant, as I am a little wimpy about giving the injections... I am just wondering if anyone else is on or has been on this regimen and and have any luck making it a little less painful and any trick of the trades with avoiding the bruising... THANKS!

I actually have my husband inject each night because I can’t stand the sight of a needle going in my skin. Inject the Lovenox slowly so that it doesn’t sting so bad and then just rest for a few minutes (that’s why I inject at night, I get ready for bed, grab my book, get my shot, and relax for 10-15 minutes). Don’t rub the injection area because it’ll cause it to sting and bruise more.

I was recently diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism after being rushed into L&D unable to breathe. I was prescribed Lovenox by injection twice daily. The prescribing DR knows I'm now 34 weeks pregnant, but when I read the drug disclosure inside the box it states clearly NOT TO BE USED DURING PREGNANCY, CAN CAUSE GASPING SYNDROME & FETAL DEATH.

The last time I had Lovenox was one year ago and I was at 2.6 when I started the Lovenox. At that time I quit taking coumadin until after the procedure. The day after the procedure, I started up on coumadin and continued to taking the Lovenox until I was therapeutic again (between 2-3 INR). You stated that you were worried about the AFib. I assume you were referring to AFib while you are off coumadin and on Lovenox. I wouldn't worry about that.

Anyone been on lovenox and had brown spotting? With my daughter i did not go on lovenox until 11 weeks and i never had an internal after that. I'm assuming this is all stemming from the internal, the pap, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

hi- i just started lovenox injections on tuesday. my dr did the first one which he told me to do the inj down farther like right above your groin area..the one he did hurt but i have done it now twice and it really doesnt hurt, just burns for a few minutes, not bad at all. anything else let me know!

now they have me on progesterone b/c they think that is another reason why i miscarry. you might wanna ask your doctor about lovenox. its a shot of blood thinner (similar to heprin) that you give yourself everyday. that is what i am on right now. i also saw a hemo doctor who deals with pregnant women with mthfr and she told me that it is a folic acid problem. be sure to take a folic acid everyday. best of luck. hopefully you will be pregnant soon!

Do any of you ladies that take lovenox or heparin injections in your tummy have some hideous bruises? Yesterday I started Lovenox, and my bruise is nasty looking, it is small but definatly bruised and quite sore. Do any of you experience this?? I am thinking that doing this every night in a different place on my belly I am going to have a nasty looking stomach. : ) But, I couldnt be happier to have it, I would do anything for this baby!

Today I am one week post ablation. INR reading 3.8 so I get to back away from the Lovenox needle YAY. Warfarin 5mg still in the picture. Not alot to report on the" event meter" but still some break through arrhythmia so I still get to push the record button. I'm finding a daily nap is a great thing for the tired feeling that comes with this journey. I hope anyone out there who is considering ablation is finding some hope through my story.

hey girl, my stomach looks the same way...covered in bruises...I was told that I had to put my heparin shots in the belly...Is your needle really short and thin? It doesn't hurt unless I try to give it in an area that is already bruised...

I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.

Anyone taking Lovenox? Im 9 weeks and between the lovenox and the prenat vit I feel groggy all the time..just wondering if lovenox makes you feel bad..

I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.

Hi trying2conceive! I didn't use follistim, but I have given myself lots of different injections ;-) For my IVF, I used bravelle and menopur, plus ovidrel as the trigger, and now I'm on daily lovenox injections (to thin my blood). It's really not a big deal doing the injections yourself. It will probably be a little scary the first time...but honestly, once you get used to doing it yourself, it is SO MUCH BETTER than having someone else do it!

I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.

Anyone on Lovenox... Will the burning ever go away? Any advice of where to do the injections. My love handles are so soar and its only been a week.

So I'm going on a daily dose of Lovenox, and I have to have hydroxyprogesterone weekly. I'm getting nervous not so much for me but my fiancé. He takes great care of me and idk if it's hormones but now with baby #2 being a girl it's a risk I may genetically passed or will pass my high blot clot risk to her. What if she has miscarriage problems or risks having going into labor early. I worry about my son too- I just found this information out today.

I am 22 and I have had three miscarriages in the past year. I've never gotten past 6 weeks. My doctor did a batch of bloodwork on me, as well as shooting dye into my uterus and tubes. Everything in my blood work came back fine, except I have MTHFR, which is a blood clotting disorder. We finally feel ready to try again. My doctor gave me a prescription for Lovenox 40mgs once a day. Plus I'm on Folic Acid. Has anyone taken this and had a sucess story?

Hi girls. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on Lovenox? My RE is putting me on it with this next positive pregnancy. We just ran another series of blood tests and one came back positive for blood clotting. He said this particular type of clot would is associated with second or third trimester losses, whereas all four of my mc have been around five weeks. But he said it is reason enough to do Lovenox. I don't know how long I would have to take it.

Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.

Any one out there feel differently? I am thinking of requesting Lovenox in addition to aspirin for next round. Any benefits or harm? How do you all feel? Thanks!
