Lovenox does not have a medicine to counter block. Basically you will be given a medicine to stop you from bleeding out.

Now I have gotten a surprise BFP and my doc is talking about Lovenox (low dose). Maternal fetal medicine says NO WAY its too risky without having a diagnosed blood clotting disorder, but my OB and RE are willing to put me on it. I'm concerned about the risks (to myself, I know it won't affect the baby). Is it all that risky? Could it help in my situation? I dont know what else to do but really want to have more kids!

I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.

I wish I could help you. I've had 3 ablations, never had to follow up with medications. They do pester me each time I go in and ask if I'm taking aspirin daily. I don't. But my ablations were for PSVT, not a-fib. They did find a-flutter the first time they were poking around in there, never caught it on a monitor before that. I do believe they successfully zapped that one.

Your doctor would not prescribe a medicine to you KNOWING that it would cause your baby to have birth defects or be still born. If they give you a medicine that even has the SLIGHTEST possibility they are really good at giving you all the facts. If you do not trust your doctor for some reason, find another one! The last time I had Lovenox was one year ago and I was at 2.6 when I started the Lovenox. At that time I quit taking coumadin until after the procedure. The day after the procedure, I started up on coumadin and continued to taking the Lovenox until I was therapeutic again (between 2-3 INR). You stated that you were worried about the AFib. I assume you were referring to AFib while you are off coumadin and on Lovenox. I wouldn't worry about that.

i spent 6 days in the hospital and was given 5 shots of Lovenox around my belly button. Lovenox is used to prevent blood clots. I immediately got huge bruises and my abdomen began to swell. I was told it was normal and would go away. With each day the swelling increased and the pain increased. I was discharged and kept going to my surgeon and the ER because the swelling kept growing on the right side of my abdomen. in 5 days it was up to 20lbs.

I can't remember who asked me this question, but I now have the answer.... I just got back from my high-risk OB appt and they have switched me to Heparin (Low-Molecular Weight, I believe) because it IS reversible should I go into labor unexpectadly, whereas Lovenox is not. I can't remember the reversal med, but it exists so that should I require an emergency c-section, they would give me this shot and send me on my way.

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have been taking 40mg once nightly injections of Lovenox into my abdomen. I've had minor bruising before, but the last two nights have left almost half dollar sized, almost black, MAJOR bruises. I'm not feeling bad, but I'm just afraid that there may be some type of infection or something? I've just recently started taking iron supplements, but I wouldn't think that would affect the bruising?

I also asked him if I can just up the dose of Lovenox instead of taking aspirin. He said the mechanisms of both medicine are different. One does not replace the other. So he prefers me keep taking it if my stomach can take it. I wonder what he will suggest next appointment. The baby aspirin I am taking is coated 81mg. I rarely had stomach problems before this pregnancy. And I always took the aspirin with a meal. I don't know why my stomach is so sensitive to aspirin.

Hi! I am 26 weeks pregnant and and have had a somewhat complicated pregnancy. I found out that I am hetero for the Prothrombin gene mutation and also compound hetero MTHFR. So since 12 weeks on I've been on 60 mg lovenox, baby aspirin, prenatals, extra calcium and high folic acid. I get monthly ultrasounds for monitoring. At my last ultrasound this past Monday my Perinatologist just wanted to check my thyroid (not sure why). He ran a Free T3 and Free T4 test.

Since my surgery is so close he put me on Lovenox for now. He also told me when he puts me on Comaden?? after the surgery I can't eat greens -they contain vitamin K. So I then went to the anticoagulants unit where a pharmacist showed me how to administer this medicine and she told me that it would be ok to take tonight even though I already took a baby aspirin and to call her to see if I should continue taking my aspirin with the Lovenox ( not wantint to step on the Nuerolgist toes).

I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.

I recently was in the hospital for a blood clot in the lungs and the put me on lovenox and warfarin, now I have severe gas which moves to my head and neck and cause me to get little if no sleep. Could this be caused by the medicine I am taking or something else?

So I'm going on a daily dose of Lovenox, and I have to have hydroxyprogesterone weekly. I'm getting nervous not so much for me but my fiancé. He takes great care of me and idk if it's hormones but now with baby #2 being a girl it's a risk I may genetically passed or will pass my high blot clot risk to her. What if she has miscarriage problems or risks having going into labor early. I worry about my son too- I just found this information out today.

I am 22 and I have had three miscarriages in the past year. I've never gotten past 6 weeks. My doctor did a batch of bloodwork on me, as well as shooting dye into my uterus and tubes. Everything in my blood work came back fine, except I have MTHFR, which is a blood clotting disorder. We finally feel ready to try again. My doctor gave me a prescription for Lovenox 40mgs once a day. Plus I'm on Folic Acid. Has anyone taken this and had a sucess story?

Hi girls. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on Lovenox? My RE is putting me on it with this next positive pregnancy. We just ran another series of blood tests and one came back positive for blood clotting. He said this particular type of clot would is associated with second or third trimester losses, whereas all four of my mc have been around five weeks. But he said it is reason enough to do Lovenox. I don't know how long I would have to take it.

I really had to push very hard for the needle to go in then it stopped about a third of the way and I had to jam it in the rest of the way. does this sound right? Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.

Any one out there feel differently? I am thinking of requesting Lovenox in addition to aspirin for next round. Any benefits or harm? How do you all feel? Thanks!

just out of curiosity.... anyone use Lovenox with their ivf/fet cycle? And if so, when did you start the injections? My ER wants me to start the injections around O date (we are doing FET cycle). My question is.... wouldn't it be better to start sooner??? Wouldn't blood clots have already formed in the uterine lining by then? Or does the lining start to grow around O date? (I know I know... you would think I would know that part being a 4th time IVF/FET patient...

I am 23 weeks pregnant, and my Dr has me on 40mg Lovenox daily. I have been taking it close to 2 months now, without any followup blood work. I am on Lovenox because earlier in my pregnancy they discovered I MIGHT have a Protein-S deficiency. They just say to keep taking the injections. Should I get a "second opinion"?
