t take Lovenox. I use one called Arixtra, when I need it. Both Lovenox and Arixtra are shots that you give yourself at home. Arixtra is a once-a-day injection; I'm not sure if Lovenox is given once a day or twice a day. A doctor or nurse can show you how to give yourself the shots. The injection will make a blue spot under your skin that looks like a bruise, but it is not painful.

I called the midwife and told her that I was friends with someone at the lab and that they told me that typically when they test for all of these other things, they also test for MTHFR...so, she added it on. THANK GOD. Sure enough, a few days later, I came back positive for homozygous MTHFR A1298C mutation. I had already been taking the low dose (baby) aspirin of 81mg. And I started the Folgard (similar to Metanx) right before the positive results.

The doc said that he suspected blood clots and that he was going to give me an injection of Lovenox and anticoagulant and have me go to the vasuclar lab this morning for a work up. the leg pain is horrible its so hard to walk and with being an OR nurse it's impossible to work. so i went today to get the vascular study done and it came back normal...i was thankful but fustrated b/c i don't know what's causing it.

I was on gonal f, antagon, menaour, steroids, baby aspirin, lovenox (after a positive pregnancy test), progesterone shots (until week 12), folgard (folic acid supplements--was on these the whole pregnancy), and my prenatal. An IVF cycle, depending on the protocol you follow, will take on average 6-8 weeks. They'll most likely start you on birth control pills to calm your ovaries. THen, once you start your period, you'll go in for blood work on the third day of your cycle.

I found out that I am a FVL (heterozygous) six months ago after a history of seven unexplained miscarriages all over seven years of marriage. I had two spontaneous pregnancies, four insemination and one in vitro fertilization ( 2 embryos) ,all ended with miscarriage as early as 5 weeks (8 weeks at most). In my eighth pregnancy (miscarried two weeks ago) I had heparin shots twice a day ( clexane 0.2 -2000UI anti-Xa) plus baby aspirin and I lost the fetus in 5 weeks.

I can't remember who asked me this question, but I now have the answer.... I just got back from my high-risk OB appt and they have switched me to Heparin (Low-Molecular Weight, I believe) because it IS reversible should I go into labor unexpectadly, whereas Lovenox is not. I can't remember the reversal med, but it exists so that should I require an emergency c-section, they would give me this shot and send me on my way.

( So, DH and I pretty much decided we would do the lovenox if we are confirmed preggo. If we start the lovenox, we have to stay on it throughout the pregnancy (UGH!). But I don't care, I just want a healthy baby. The part that peed me off was when I talked to him (doc) on the phone 4-6 wks ago, he said my bloodwork and genetic work up were fine..and then hits me with this...UGH!!! BUTTHEAD!!!

The last time I had Lovenox was one year ago and I was at 2.6 when I started the Lovenox. At that time I quit taking coumadin until after the procedure. The day after the procedure, I started up on coumadin and continued to taking the Lovenox until I was therapeutic again (between 2-3 INR). You stated that you were worried about the AFib. I assume you were referring to AFib while you are off coumadin and on Lovenox. I wouldn't worry about that.

Hi I just did my first lovenox injection and think I might not be doing it right. I really had to push very hard for the needle to go in then it stopped about a third of the way and I had to jam it in the rest of the way. does this sound right? I have plenty of fat so it's not as if I got held up on muscle or anything.

We are 8w5d pregnant now. Our RE recommended Lovenox/Prednisone/Baby Aspirin. How do you know when it's safe to stop each med? Nurse said it's usually through 12 weeks. But I have seen other people say online they took Lovenox until 36 weeks. Since this protocol worked, I'm scared to stop any of them. Thanks.

i give birth 6 weeks ago i had blood clots in my lungs they gave me lovenox inj? the medicaid was covering it, but now after my pregnancy ended they stoped the medicaid and i cannot afford seeing the dr or the inj. i still got 5000mg heparin but i dont use because after my pregnancy ended they swithed me to lovenox i now take only asprin 325mg am i at risk what can do about it !!

m on progesterone, baby aspirin, pre-natal vitamins, folic acid, thyroid med, clomid and HCG injections, B Complex vitamins.. Now we are going to add Lovenox. Every test has come back "normal". He has no explanation for why the mc happened. We even tested for Factor V Leiden and it came back normal. But a few weeks ago he wanted to do a more indepth anticardiolipin panel which I guess is a little more indepth than the Factor V. Has anyone else taken Lovenox? Opinions on it?

Hi I hope someone can help me! Had 2 Miscarriages last year. I'm currently 6w 1d pregnant. Saw fetal pole, heart beat and yolk sac yesterday. My hcg #'s aren't rising too well. 1/14 - 790, 1/16 - 1698, 1/18 - 3301, 1/21 - 7989, 1/24 - 12601...............I'm so nervous. I'm on Lovenox and progesterone pills....Dr. isn't that worried.....I AM!!!! Has this happened to anyone before and turned out GOOD??? I don't think I can go through another miscarriage......

I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.

Anyone taking Lovenox? Im 9 weeks and between the lovenox and the prenat vit I feel groggy all the time..just wondering if lovenox makes you feel bad..

I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.

Do they test for blood disorders at the first check up? My mom has a blood clotting disorder that she's been wondering about. My second appointment is in July should I have them test for it or did they already do that?

I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.

Ok ladies, what is the name of the actual blood test that they do to test for that. And is it actually a blood clotting disorder.

I started taking baby aspirin and folgard 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. I am also injecting 30mg Lovenox everyday after positive pregnancy test. The pregnancy went well except bad nausea and vomittings. At 15 weeks I vomitted blood. My OB asked me stop aspirin for 2 weeks. I did and my nausea and vomitting were gone after 1 week. He asked me to resume baby aspirin after 2 weeks. I did and after 1 week I vomitted again.

Today I am one week post ablation. INR reading 3.8 so I get to back away from the Lovenox needle YAY. Warfarin 5mg still in the picture. Not alot to report on the" event meter" but still some break through arrhythmia so I still get to push the record button. I'm finding a daily nap is a great thing for the tired feeling that comes with this journey. I hope anyone out there who is considering ablation is finding some hope through my story.

1) Have you ever heard of lovenox injections to prevent further clots in stents and 2) what are the risks from lovenox to her relatively healthy kidneys (after 30+ yrs of diabetes)? Thank you for your good advice. You were the only Dr. who said E.R.
