lovenox injections pregnancy

I have to take this blood thinner throughout my pregnancy and I give myself injections just under my belly button. I've been experiencing welts at the injection site. I don't know if I am doing something wrong. But these welts stick around for a few days. They aren't painful and don't bother me, I just think I am giving myself the shot incorrectly. Has anyone else experienced this issue?????

m on progesterone, baby aspirin, pre-natal vitamins, folic acid, thyroid med, clomid and HCG injections, B Complex vitamins.. Now we are going to add Lovenox. Every test has come back "normal". He has no explanation for why the mc happened. We even tested for Factor V Leiden and it came back normal. But a few weeks ago he wanted to do a more indepth anticardiolipin panel which I guess is a little more indepth than the Factor V. Has anyone else taken Lovenox? Opinions on it?

I am scared of this happening again so this time I am wanting to have Clexane injections during the pregnancy to prevent. Does anyone know at what stage of pregnancy I am likely to start these injections?

I was just recently on lovenox and I did my injections in my legs. I have to tell you the pain was not as bad as doing it in my stomach but I did end up with a lot of bruises. I am now on fragmen shots and I do them in my stomach cause my legs have not healed yet.Btw if you were wondering they took me off my lovenox at 37 weeks but I had trouble getting my insurance to pay for the fragmen so I didnt start it until I was 38 weeks and I had my baby after only being on it for 3 days.

I am 4 weeks pregnant, and it was highly suggested (based on the results of bloodwork drawn right before I became pregnant) to take daily Lovenox injections, as I am at risk for bloodclots. This has been the most miserable part of being pregnant, as I am a little wimpy about giving the injections... I am just wondering if anyone else is on or has been on this regimen and and have any luck making it a little less painful and any trick of the trades with avoiding the bruising... THANKS!

So, I'm due in September but I have to take lovenox shots for large blood clots in my lungs. Today my doctor decided that I will be induced when the time comes, so that the situation can be controlled. Has anyone dealt with this situation?

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have been taking 40mg once nightly injections of Lovenox into my abdomen. I've had minor bruising before, but the last two nights have left almost half dollar sized, almost black, MAJOR bruises. I'm not feeling bad, but I'm just afraid that there may be some type of infection or something? I've just recently started taking iron supplements, but I wouldn't think that would affect the bruising?

I have been taking it close to 2 months now, without any followup blood work. I am on Lovenox because earlier in my pregnancy they discovered I MIGHT have a Protein-S deficiency. They just say to keep taking the injections. Should I get a "second opinion"?

Is that medication similar to lovenox . I take lovenox injections once a day and baby aspirin daily to prevent clots. Lovenox are pretty measured shots that are injected into the stomach.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and unfortunatly have been doing daily lovenox injections from pretty much the day I found out I was pregnant due to prior health issues. I get so frustrated with them especially the nights when I already don't feel good. I was just wondering if anyone else is suffering with these horrible shots. If so how do you deal with them?

In addition i am a nurse and have to give lovenox injections all the time and teach people how to do their own injections. I am not an OB nurse and I am curious why your are taking lovenox during your pregnancy, do you have a previous clotting issue with your pregnancies? I am just asking because I am wondering if i am going to have to be on lovenox because of my clotting history when i become pregnant?

Turns out I have a bloody clotting disorder. I got pregnant again (and started the Lovenox injections) and everything was going well until last week. I began having spotting. My hcg was increasing, but my progesterone dropped quickly and I lost the baby. My husband and I are giving this one more shot. My doctor wants to start me on Clomid next month, along with one baby aspirin a day and and folic acid until I get pregnant.

I wasn on lovenox injections for the first few months of my pregnancy and every thing seems to be good with baby.

Yes, I am on Lovenox!!!! and I am 33 weeks pregnant...I am also on extra Folic Acid and I was diagnosed with MTHFR...so it does work.... Good Luck to you!!!

I've been on Lovenox for the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy (I'm 22 1/2 weeks now)...my baby has been fine. They just watch both of us a little closer. I'm not sure if the doctor told you but, Lovenox is pretty much the only blood thinner you can take that does not pass through your placenta. I guess for me, I had to weigh the risks of not taking the shot vs what "might" happen.

I was wondering how many women are on lovenox injections? I inject myself twice a day with 120mg. I have had an unkown clotting disorder for the past 13 years that the doctors cannot figure out why. Frustrating to say the least. When I found out I was pregnant my Hematologist put me on these injections. I was on them before for 7 months trying to figure out the best course of treatment. Now I have no choice. If I don't take them I could clot and kill the baby and myself.

Is anyone taking Lovenox or Heparin injections during pregnancy? Or have you taken either for prior pregnancies? I'm just really nervous about the fact that my doctor told me in order to get an epidural the drug will have had to be out of my system for about 12 hours. He acted like it was pretty common and no big deal, but I'm just worried. If there is too much of the drug in my system it could cause a blood clot causing permanent paralysis! I'm just a little freaked out.

Do any of you ladies that take lovenox or heparin injections in your tummy have some hideous bruises? Yesterday I started Lovenox, and my bruise is nasty looking, it is small but definatly bruised and quite sore. Do any of you experience this?? I am thinking that doing this every night in a different place on my belly I am going to have a nasty looking stomach. : ) But, I couldnt be happier to have it, I would do anything for this baby!

and had no bleeding, infact i waited for weeks to start the miscarriage bleeding after we found out the pregnancy was not viable.. so the second pregnancy i was taking an extra folic acid in addition to my prenatal (since it can thin the blood like asprin) and i had all that bleeding.. so that makes me a little hesitant.. what do you think? also around the time of my last miscarriage, i scratched myself and had a superficial abrasion that wouldnt stop bleeding for the longest time..

Hi there, I now have an 8 month old and during my pregnancy w/ him gave myself Lovenox injections 2x/day....keep w/ it. My tummy is fine now (well, too darned fat, but aside from that) and now more bruising and no worse for the ware. My advice regarding the pain is to pinch the flesh a bit; inject, pinch a little, inject, pincha little. I don't know fi this "really" helps, but it seemed to with me.

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy with Factor V Leiden, i have it and my specialist thinks this might ne a reason for my 2 M/C's and just hoping someone can give me hope, i start IVF number6 soon and i will be taking Clexane injections this time round, plus i'm on cardipron to help with bloot clotting..

So I am 29 years old and 8 weeks 4 days pregnant today. Was told due to all of my health issues that I would NEVER be able to conceive without any hormonal help. That even if I did I wouldn't be able to carry past 3 or 4 weeks. I have had an unknown clotting problem for the past 13 years. They can't find the culprit. I was on xerelto but once I found out I was pregnant my doc put me on Lovenox subq injections 2x's a day. They hurt badly.

5mg Folic Acid, Low Dose 81mg Baby Aspirin along with 40mg Lovenox injections once a day (for the moment) and a 100mg B complex vitamin once daily - will help this time around. I am also scheduled to see a high-risk MTHFR specialist to determine if the amount of Lovenox will allow me to actually continue this pregnancy and have this little bean. Do not think for one second that this mutation is not important. Do not allow doctors to tell you nothing can be done or should be done.

i have mthfr and when i was ttc and during my last pregnancy i took lovenox injections. my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage, just like my other 3. however, they think it was due to my progesterone not being high enough. we've decided that we dont want to try to have children now. hope things work out for you!
