You need to bring it up with them if you haven't already told them in your family history. I have a stable clot in my leg and have been on Lovenox my entire pregnancy, I had extra ultrasounds to monitor the baby as clotting disorders can affect growth rates. It's better to be safe!

What I did was stop the Coumadin 5 days before, and then 4 days before started Lovenox to bridge up until the surgery (Lovenox is a subcutaneous injection and is a Low Molecular Weight Heparin that will keep the blot thin enough to prevent clotting). The night of the day of the procedure I had, I restarted the Coumadin, and the following day after the surgery used Lovenox for 2 days giving the Coumadin time to begin building back up again.

I took lovenox for 2 months because i got a blood clot in my left calf from taking birth control pills, and then had to be on coumadin for another 6 months of anticoagulation. In addition i am a nurse and have to give lovenox injections all the time and teach people how to do their own injections. Lovenox and Plavix are both anticoagulants (antiplatelets). These reduce the chance of clot formation which can result in stroke. This is typical treatment when patients present to the ER with symptoms of chest pain. This is not likely to be causing you your current problem. Your anxiety could most definitely be impacting your heart rate as well as your BP. You should try to relax and see if your symptoms resolve.

Every scan that has been run reveal no DVT. I have been placed on Lovenox indefinitely and had an IVC filter put in (even though they are not sure where the emboli are coming from). I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.

I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.

I have been in atrial flutter for 2 1/2 months now. I am 74, have had 3 ht attacks, angioplasty, double by-pass surgery and now am waiting for an ablation. Did all of you have to be on coumadin and get 4 protimes 2 to 3 or above for 4 weeks before the procedure? I get a couple weeks in, and then I drop below 2 and have to start my weeks over again. It has never converted for one minute since the flutter has started.

- are you in afib currently? If not, is it safe to go off Warfarin for a week. - can they use some other drug to control your afib for just this one week. I f afib stops, is it safe to go off Warfarin. - can they recommend a modified dosage that would give you some benefits of Warfarin, but reduce your chances of bleeding. - just how high is the risk of bleeding as a result of this procedure.

I was on lovenox mine didn't burn but the doctor told me to ice the injection site first then it wouldn't be as bad......I'm almost 39 weeks and they switched me over to heparin at 38 weeks..........I'm going to the hospital Thursday the 5th to get induced......

That's interesting, because I tried googling this a few weeks ago. I've been on Lovenox since April, and once in a while, I'll get a syringe with a needle that just won't penetrate my skin properly. After searching online, I found NOTHING, so I started thinking it was just me...but looks like there's at least two of us then ;-) Let me know how your injection goes tomorrow. I've never been on Lovenox...but am a nurse and give the injections all the time......You may have some spotting only b/c it's a blood thinner...but I'm not sure that it would be unsafe to have some spotting...as long as your cervix is in good shape.....

I'm on Lovenox for Factor V (one gene). Same thing...repeated early losses in the past, but research indicates that Factor V should technically only be an issue in 2nd and 3rd trimester. Yet, this is the only pregnancy that continued past the first trimester and this time I was on Lovenox from day 1. The last two times, they wanted to wait and see a heartbeat before starting the blood thinners.

So I'm going on a daily dose of Lovenox, and I have to have hydroxyprogesterone weekly. I'm getting nervous not so much for me but my fiancé. He takes great care of me and idk if it's hormones but now with baby #2 being a girl it's a risk I may genetically passed or will pass my high blot clot risk to her. What if she has miscarriage problems or risks having going into labor early. I worry about my son too- I just found this information out today.

Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.

t think clotting in the lining itself is the issue. I think the problem is when a clot forms in the blood supply to the embryo. So, in my opinion, starting Lovenox at ovulation should be just fine :-) Best of luck with your IVF!

I've used lovenox with my last pregnancy and with this pregnancy due to a blood clotting disorder. Lovenox is perfectly safe. does not cross the placenta but thins the blood just enough and very evenly to prevent blood clots. there are no side effects except maybe I bruised slightly easier.

On the expired lovenox, just be sure that nothing has precipitated out of the solution. In other words, you shouldn't see any flakes or granules in the liquid. You also don't want to see any color change, or any kind of change from the normal appearance of the product, at all. Otherwise, as long as it looks okay, using it shortly after expiration is probably fine, in my personal opinion. (Bear in mind, I'm a patient and not a doctor or a pharmacist.

My clot was near my groin in the iliac/femoral vein but I suspect it actually was higher up in the abdominal area but just not visible w/ standard ultrasound because of being pregnant. It was a HUGE clot that stretched all the way from my groin to my knee...one solid clot. Quite frankly it is a miracle that I didn't throw an embolism, have a stroke or heart attack and that I am alive with zero complications other than some residual leg swelling (but it's very manageable...
