lovenox in children

To tell you the truth Im not for sure why Im taking Lovenox...we have 2 children and had no problems getting pregnant,etc..For some reason when I turned 30 I had three mc back to back..we were going to a fertility specialist and finally was able to get pregnant again the doc put me on lovenox,baby aspirin, and progesterone..looks like everything is going fine with this pregnancy..Im 9.3 weeks due Feb 21st.

1) Have you ever heard of lovenox injections to prevent further clots in stents and 2) what are the risks from lovenox to her relatively healthy kidneys (after 30+ yrs of diabetes)? Thank you for your good advice. You were the only Dr. who said E.R.

I've used lovenox with my last pregnancy and with this pregnancy due to a blood clotting disorder. Lovenox is perfectly safe. does not cross the placenta but thins the blood just enough and very evenly to prevent blood clots. there are no side effects except maybe I bruised slightly easier.

Do you think your children have ADHD or any other abnormalities? I have been reading alot about it and some women claim that while being on Lovenox during pregnany has cause other issues with their children who are now 4 and older.

t really need to take baby aspirin if I am on the Lovenox but VERY IMPORTANT thing was this, if you (like me in the beginning) are only taking one dose of Lovenox per day, you are not covering off your entire 24 hours since Lovenox is very short lived in the body (only 12 hours). So, since I was changed to twice a day it wasn't really necessary for me to also take the baby aspirin which I was taking to cover off the missing 12 hours in the beginning.

The first one I saw told me that no way in the world would he treat a subsequent pregnancy any differently and NO WAY would he prescribe lovenox. I called my midwife (who I LOVED) and asked her why in the world she sent me to this guy?? She said that she had spoken with them and was told that they would do lovenox. Needless to say, that perinatologist didn't like me too much after this (because I questioned him).

Is considered high risk. Having to take lovenox injections. Just found out Now considered higher risk. Told Lovenox will not be enough for blood clot problems. MY and HER question is: MTHFR mutations, C677T and A1298C information found give pretty much the same explanation; forums understandably give the best outcomes and successes. But, would like to know the other side of the coin as well. Birth defects, what kind, has anyone out here had negative outcomes with these pregnancies?

HI, I can't speak to the overarching issue...that is something for a doc to discuss w/ you certainly. However, I had a very large DVT that stretched from my groin to my knee in my last pregnancy (he's 6.5 now) and am pregnant again. You won't likely be on Coumadin during pregnancy (I'm guessing) but they'll switch you to Heparin or Lovenox (I'm on Lovenox).

I know that I came across this very late. However, I am interested in learning as to whether or not you took lovenox afterall. Had this been earlier on, I would have said yes take it and to switch your Folic Acid to a Methyl-Folate as our bodies cannot process mere folic acid. I am on Cerefolin now as it is one of the best for MTHFR. I have dual strands as well. I had two 3rd Trimester losses due to placental abruption as a result of my having this undiagnosed condition.

Lovenox safety in pregnancy is a question that is best answered by your obstetrician or by a high risk maternal fetal medicine subspecialist. I personally do not believe the low positive cardiolipin titers were related to infertility; the relationship is with recurrent pregnancy loss. I too respect your RE' reasoning for initiating lovenox, but would not have done so myself - a matter of opinion and my interpretation of the research and evidence available.

I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now. Should I go ahead and take the baby aspirin now or wait? The Doctor says we can try again in October.

I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.

m hoping all goes well, because I have had 4 miscarriages and no children yet. After doing a ton of research I discovered that my issue sounded like a progesterone issue. So with this pregnancy I decided to go to the gnc and purchace progesterone cream to hold me over until I was able to see my doc. so far so good :) had my first ultrasound yesterday and they couldn't see anything except a sac and yolk sac. They said I'm between 5 & 7 weeks.

I have been in atrial flutter for 2 1/2 months now. I am 74, have had 3 ht attacks, angioplasty, double by-pass surgery and now am waiting for an ablation. Did all of you have to be on coumadin and get 4 protimes 2 to 3 or above for 4 weeks before the procedure? I get a couple weeks in, and then I drop below 2 and have to start my weeks over again. It has never converted for one minute since the flutter has started.

I was on lovenox mine didn't burn but the doctor told me to ice the injection site first then it wouldn't be as bad......I'm almost 39 weeks and they switched me over to heparin at 38 weeks..........I'm going to the hospital Thursday the 5th to get induced......

That's interesting, because I tried googling this a few weeks ago. I've been on Lovenox since April, and once in a while, I'll get a syringe with a needle that just won't penetrate my skin properly. After searching online, I found NOTHING, so I started thinking it was just me...but looks like there's at least two of us then ;-) Let me know how your injection goes tomorrow. It only happens to me every once in a while, so hopefully it's the same for you.

I took lovenox for 2 months because i got a blood clot in my left calf from taking birth control pills, and then had to be on coumadin for another 6 months of anticoagulation. In addition i am a nurse and have to give lovenox injections all the time and teach people how to do their own injections. I am not an OB nurse and I am curious why your are taking lovenox during your pregnancy, do you have a previous clotting issue with your pregnancies?

I've never been on Lovenox...but am a nurse and give the injections all the time......You may have some spotting only b/c it's a blood thinner...but I'm not sure that it would be unsafe to have some spotting...as long as your cervix is in good shape.....

I'm on Lovenox for Factor V (one gene). Same thing...repeated early losses in the past, but research indicates that Factor V should technically only be an issue in 2nd and 3rd trimester. Yet, this is the only pregnancy that continued past the first trimester and this time I was on Lovenox from day 1. The last two times, they wanted to wait and see a heartbeat before starting the blood thinners.

So I'm going on a daily dose of Lovenox, and I have to have hydroxyprogesterone weekly. I'm getting nervous not so much for me but my fiancé. He takes great care of me and idk if it's hormones but now with baby #2 being a girl it's a risk I may genetically passed or will pass my high blot clot risk to her. What if she has miscarriage problems or risks having going into labor early. I worry about my son too- I just found this information out today.

Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.

Any one out there feel differently? I am thinking of requesting Lovenox in addition to aspirin for next round. Any benefits or harm? How do you all feel? Thanks!

t think clotting in the lining itself is the issue. I think the problem is when a clot forms in the blood supply to the embryo. So, in my opinion, starting Lovenox at ovulation should be just fine :-) Best of luck with your IVF!

On the expired lovenox, just be sure that nothing has precipitated out of the solution. In other words, you shouldn't see any flakes or granules in the liquid. You also don't want to see any color change, or any kind of change from the normal appearance of the product, at all. Otherwise, as long as it looks okay, using it shortly after expiration is probably fine, in my personal opinion. (Bear in mind, I'm a patient and not a doctor or a pharmacist.

It turned out that I actually conceived before my appointment and I was then in a panic to get the Lovenox started before I lost another pregnancy. I literally was in tears begging my family doctor to prescribe me the Lovenox despite not having seen the specialist (it was 8 weeks away to that date) and I had all the research ready to back up my request.
