So I then went to the anticoagulants unit where a pharmacist showed me how to administer this medicine and she told me that it would be ok to take tonight even though I already took a baby aspirin and to call her to see if I should continue taking my aspirin with the Lovenox ( not wantint to step on the Nuerolgist toes). I said is that safe? If it don't do anything for me-why take it? She said it won't hurt you. Just take it until we talk to the neurologist.

I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.

im 10wks 6days. Last week i went to the doctor and they put me on lovenox. I had a past history of clotts. PE to be exact . Im super excited because my baby heartbeat was 180. We are 8w5d pregnant now. Our RE recommended Lovenox/Prednisone/Baby Aspirin. How do you know when it's safe to stop each med? Nurse said it's usually through 12 weeks. But I have seen other people say online they took Lovenox until 36 weeks. Since this protocol worked, I'm scared to stop any of them. Thanks.

I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.

i have factor V as well and will be on lovenox when im preg again...right now im still in the testing phase since i was recently diagnosed and not even taking baby aspirin but once all my blood work is done and im allowed to TTC again ill be taking baby aspirin and the day i get a BFP ill start my lovenox.... check with your doc...

As a former Lovenox pt, and a nurse, I feel I need to add to this. As scary as it may sound, the air bubble is important in the Lovenox injection. As well as risking losing a small amount of the medication, by flicking the air bubble out you are removing the mechanism that is designed to "lock" the medication in place. I dont know if anyone has ever noticed a small amount of fluid come out of the injection site after taking the needle out?

You know what? I actually had my DH do the shots in the beginning, but it ended up being easier to just do them myself...and I got less bruises that way too. After a while, you just kinda know how to give it to eliminate (or at least minimize) the bruising. One thing that's important with blood thinning shots, though, is to NOT rub it after, since that may cause bruises.

Also, if you have a clotting disorder, the clots would pose more harm to the fetus than Lovenox would.....You need to have sufficient blood flow to the placenta in order to support a pregnancy.

In addition i am a nurse and have to give lovenox injections all the time and teach people how to do their own injections. I am not an OB nurse and I am curious why your are taking lovenox during your pregnancy, do you have a previous clotting issue with your pregnancies? I am just asking because I am wondering if i am going to have to be on lovenox because of my clotting history when i become pregnant?

Thanks for all of your advice! I've worked with three different doctors and all of the test came back the same. I did find out that I have MTHFR heterozygoss but from what I heard this is very common in most women. I was put on extra folic acid supps four times a day. I did prometruim once a day and at 5 weeks had to start the progestrone shots once a day. I was put on lovenox just as a precaution and used estrogen patches to help with my levels.

t ever remember it taking this long to start? Does anyone know how long until I should start to worry?? I have really sharp pains every now and again but no sign of starting?? Today would be day 5 post negative test? I stopped taking progesterone and lovenox right away??

we were going to a fertility specialist and finally was able to get pregnant again the doc put me on lovenox,baby aspirin, and progesterone..looks like everything is going fine with this pregnancy..Im 9.3 weeks due Feb 21st.

I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. The Doctor says we can try again in October.

As far as I know lovenox is no reason to perform a c section. If you are unsure, then please ask your Dr. why he/she wants to deliver you this way. Your wishes do count and it's important you feel comfortable and confident in how the actual delivery takes place.

t working for you, there is something your doctor can additionally prescribe to help with irritation of stomach due to medications. Another thing to think about is a coated low dose baby aspirin. Mine is coated to help prevent stomach problems.

( So, DH and I pretty much decided we would do the lovenox if we are confirmed preggo. If we start the lovenox, we have to stay on it throughout the pregnancy (UGH!). But I don't care, I just want a healthy baby. The part that peed me off was when I talked to him (doc) on the phone 4-6 wks ago, he said my bloodwork and genetic work up were fine..and then hits me with this...UGH!!! BUTTHEAD!!!

Did they inject him with lovenox during his hospital stay? If so this is pretty common bruising with this drug.

It has never converted for one minute since the flutter has started. Then I take shots of Lovenox two days before and 2 to 3 days afterwards the ablation. Is this what others have done? I am really scared having gone on this long, as the bottom part of my heart is just scar tissue from previous ht. attacks. Just want to get it over with. Anyone?
