Lovenox for recurrent miscarriage

Common Questions and Answers about Lovenox for recurrent miscarriage

lovenox

Avatar n tn I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.
Avatar f tn We began seeing a fertility specialist 4 months after the first miscarriage. No cause for infertility has been found. We began Clomid and did two rounds of IUI. I got pregnant on the second IUI attempt. I had a second miscarriage in February of this year. At six weeks, a heartbeat was detected, but at 8 weeks there was no heartbeat. The baby measured 7 weeks and 3 days. I had a D&C and the doctor ordered chromosomal testing.
1085628 tn?1326551885 I had been doing my research as to what can cause recurrent miscarriage, and I was leaning towards MTHFR for some reason - just based on other things I had experienced. So, I fibbed...lol...I called the midwife and told her that I was friends with someone at the lab and that they told me that typically when they test for all of these other things, they also test for MTHFR...so, she added it on. THANK GOD.
Avatar n tn Has anybody used the blood thinner lovenox? My doctor put me on it for the whole pregnancy. I just forbid out I was carrying 4 days ago. I'm very nervous because I've had 3 miscarriages before this.
Avatar m tn With my last son I took lovenox for blood clots that I had with my first son (m/c in between) and then I was switched to heparin in the last 10 weeks. I am not sure if they are going to have to take it this pregnancy but it didn't hurt to take it. Better to be safe!
Avatar n tn I dont know anything about the lovenox but im sure your Dr knows whats best for you.
Avatar n tn I am sorry we have some members having a tough time. I totally understand how you feel right now. I just wanted to give you some hope. I had 5 losses, and I too truly did not think I could take anymore. Something drove me forward...I guess that desire to have a baby was even stronger then I ever knew. Well, my 6th pregnancy at 40 was the charm and my little boy is the light of my life. I now look back on it, and although it was soo incredibly hard, he was worth it.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry for your losses. I have FVL but I have two kids. I've had 5 miscarriages now. (The most recent one includes a d&c - tomorrow). I get hyperemesis when I get pg. I'm not sure if that's what type of sick you're talking about. Even at this moment, I'm on Zofran and Phenergan due to being so sick. I've gone through the recurrent miscarriage testing. I saw an RE after my OB did a basic work-up.
Avatar f tn my first pregnancy with this dr. and taking Lovenox for the past 15 days.....Had second sonogram yesterday and saw fetal pole, yolk sac and heartbeat!!! I was so excited, I was on cloud nine all day...until two hours ago when I heard my latest #'s.....already spoke to dr. he said not to worry and go for blood test Mon. He did tell me originally that the minute I think I;m pregnant I should start the Lovenox. I started it when my levels were only42!!! Good luck to you.
287479 tn?1272730364 I did a miscarriage work up in Feb to find out if there was a specific reason for my miscarrying. Turns out I have a bloody clotting disorder. I got pregnant again (and started the Lovenox injections) and everything was going well until last week. I began having spotting. My hcg was increasing, but my progesterone dropped quickly and I lost the baby. My husband and I are giving this one more shot.
374593 tn?1257879950 I was wandering who all takes asprin for fertility/miscarriage prevention? Also if you do, have the doctors found something in your bloodwork and therefore told you that you should take a baby asprin, or do you just try it anyways.. and lastly.. anyone take it and have a successful pregnancy? esp after miscarriage? Thanks!
8899539 tn?1409614490 All ended in miscarriage. Was on lovenox with 1st one for about a week then lost baby. Was on it for this last one for 20days and dr took me off of it at my 61/2 week ultrasound because all he could see is gestational sac and he believes I'm going to miscarry (I hope he is wrong he is going to let me do another one at 71/2 weeks) it's not the worse thing to go through.. There well worth it if they help you and baby! Hope all goes well with you and just remember it's all worth it!
Avatar n tn contributes to a blood clotting factor. Does anyone know the success rate for a full-term pregnancy? Also, any meds I should look into. Any other thoughts or ideas on this topic?
Avatar f tn m worried about what I was reading about epidural while taking lovenox, debates on when you should stop prior to surgery for pregnancy; possibly bleeding too much. That and I do not get numb underneath my skin so another c-section would be a bit uncomfortable since I passed out last time from all the pain and I like to be aware what is going on. That and if anything goes wrong I'd be passed out before I knew so....
Avatar f tn c just found out that I have a blood clotting, Iam 7 weeks2 days prego and im on lovenox so far were doing great just nervist nexts apointment not untill April 15 four week away any one els on lovenox had this worked for you?
Avatar f tn There is some data suggesting that implantation rates are lower with IVF; and miscarriage rates are higher for women with MTHFR. So, it is one of the things that REs like to treat prophyllactically. Biochemically speaking, the Folic acid theory is sound, and extra folic acid is unlikely to cause problems. Aspirin at that dosage is unlikely to "hurt" either.
1752977 tn?1418221796 Have u been tested for mthfr? I had 3 early mc's & tested positive. Dr put me on folgard. If need be lovenox. Best of luck!
1235159 tn?1323009319 There are also several tests specifically for trying to determine the cause of m/c. Hopefully the RE will order those for you. You have now sadly had enough losses where they should be willing to order those. (anti-cardiolipin, lupus anticoagulant, NK cells, etc.) Normally they wait until thre losses to call it "recurrent pregnancy loss", as if two losses is ok. I would make sure they check your thyroid (TSH), too. I pray they can figure it out so you never have to go thru that again.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the heads up...every little bit helps. Lots of love to you both and best wishes for the future...mamaof4410- good luck on this current pregnancy!
Avatar n tn With each pregnancy I have pain immediatley and it has stayed for the duration until it ends in miscarriage. My ultrasounds are not showing anything abnormal but I am absolutley desperate for answers. If anyone has had a similar experience or lnows something, anything that would help please let me know I am 31 and feel like I am running out of time.
Avatar f tn t until I did a fasting blood work and found that I was insulin resistant (not something my OB tested for or would have tested for). I started to take Metformin and got pregnant and am now 21w4d today. The specialist said we could chalk it up to bad timing and without the medication there was a chance I could have sustained a healthy pregnancy on my own, or in fact, my high insulin was causing my eggs to not be perfect and that's why we didn't have viable pregnancies.
330481 tn?1309488243 I am homozygous (2 copies) for the A1298C. The doc said if want we can start on the lovenox (blood thinner) as soon as I am confirmed preggo. I was reading up on it also: I apparently need prescription folic acid (for the rest of my life - whether TTC or not) and baby aspirin (for the rest of my life) because the homozygous causes clotting in small vessels in the body (AKA - UTERUS - UGH!).
1299014 tn?1273247877 I have MTHFR & PAI-1. I took the liberty of taking my blood results to a hemotolgist. I suggest the same for you & they can tell you what is best for future pregancy. I am sorry this has happend to you.
Avatar f tn For now until you can see your dr take baby aspirin, I know its not the heparin you need but it can help for clotting issues. You need to call an raise heck with ur obs office, ask to speak to his nurse she may get you the meds you need. I hope things work out. Good luck.
873190 tn?1304812975 s the charm for you (as it was for me) and that lovenox helps you have a happy, healthy nine months! Miranda: Best of luck to you! I hope your next BFP will be a sticky one! I hadn't heard about the bone density loss before. I'll have to look that up. Thanks for sharing!
Avatar f tn just tell your doctor you wanna do a miscarriage work up. its probably about 15 different things that they test for (such as mthfr and lupus). I must warn you, when they test you, they draw about 10 vials of blood (or at least they did on me at quest diag labs). i have excellent insurance through blue cross. i think my total out of pocket might have been 50$. im not sure what the state would cover, but they usually cover everything.
Avatar f tn I was on lovenox for a short period of time. I could not find a spot for the injection that didn't make me cry. I'm sorry you are going through this.hopefully they can switch you to the heparin by mouth instead. They told me that they normally keep ppl on the lovenox until wk 37 b.c it's longer acting and then the heparin after that b.c it's out of your system faster and is safer foe delivery bit maybe you can get switched earlier? Good luck!
Avatar n tn It is very possible to get pregnant and have a miscarriage and not know. If you were bleeding like you would with your period being that early into a pregnancy you probably passed everything and have no reason for a D&C. The main reason for that procedure is for people who do not pass all the tissue. If you feel you have not passed everything go to an OBGYN they will more than likely do an US and look for any tissue and go from there. Hope this helps!!!
