lovenox

Avatar f tn I am on Lovenox because earlier in my pregnancy they discovered I MIGHT have a Protein-S deficiency. They just say to keep taking the injections. Should I get a "second opinion"?
Avatar f tn I have protein s deficiency, i take asprin when pregnant and clexane shots after birth for six weeks. Hope all goes well.
Avatar f tn No ectopic, no molar, no blighted ovum. Everything looks normal. I had been taking lovenox for a protein S deficiency with factor V mutation. After 5 days of spotting, my perinatologist took me off of Lovenox indefinitely. She says that we're not out of the woods right yet. She says that if I can keep this in until 8 weeks, she'll feel a lot better.
Avatar f tn Since my surgery is so close he put me on Lovenox for now. He also told me when he puts me on Comaden?? after the surgery I can't eat greens -they contain vitamin K. So I then went to the anticoagulants unit where a pharmacist showed me how to administer this medicine and she told me that it would be ok to take tonight even though I already took a baby aspirin and to call her to see if I should continue taking my aspirin with the Lovenox ( not wantint to step on the Nuerolgist toes).
Avatar f tn Have you explained to the doctors that you are having protein s deficiency. May be you are having congenital protein s deficiency. Congenital protein C or S deficiency is a condition that runs in families (inherited), which is caused by a lack of the proteins C or S in the fluid portion of blood (plasma). Proteins C and S are natural substances that prevent blood clots (anticoagulants). People with this condition are more likely to get blood clots.
Avatar n tn I have had 3 miscarriages in the last 1 1/2yr We was sent to a fertitlity specialist hoping to find some answers... After getting some blood work done I was informed that my Protein C levels were too high... Has anyone heard of this and can it be the cause of my miscarriages? I am scheduled to get another test done this weekend to make sure first test was accurate. If it is, is there treatment and will I be able to have a baby???
415867 tn?1323365503 The doc said that he suspected blood clots and that he was going to give me an injection of Lovenox and anticoagulant and have me go to the vasuclar lab this morning for a work up. the leg pain is horrible its so hard to walk and with being an OR nurse it's impossible to work. so i went today to get the vascular study done and it came back normal...i was thankful but fustrated b/c i don't know what's causing it.
Avatar f tn This is my second pregnancy and I'm 38 weeks as of this Thursday and I'm a high risk due to a clotting disorder called Protein Z deficiency yes I mean Protein Z Deficiency its very rare and I was on blood thinner called lovenox up until a week ago now on straight heparin I will b induced at 39 weeks due to it being very risky for me to go past my due date... the doctors are very shocked I even concieved both my children due to not producing any eggs absolutely no eggs...
873190 tn?1304812975 I had three 1st semester losses before undergoing tests at the fertility clinic. Everything was normal except for my protein C and IGG antibodies. My RE suggested fragmin, a blood thinning medication. I conceived last July and took baby aspirin, prometrium, pre-natals and extra folic acid. I also injected 2500 ml of fragmin in my lower abdomen. No big deal, I got used to it. (But I did get heavy bruising on the injection site).
Avatar n tn It is true that estrogen therapy can amplify protein S deficiency. You need to consult a hematologist for this test, which is a specialized test. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
198419 tn?1360242356 After running blood test they found I had high levels of Protein C, which I will be going for a second test this weekend to see if first test was accurate. WHat medications are out there? And is it cureable?
Avatar f tn I was also on heparin 2008. I have a lack of protein c in my blood whch causes it to clot. I had to take injections twice a day for 9mons. it was scary. I had a very complicated delivery with my son and lovenox my son was born in dec 09. He is now 11yrs. old and he has a reading disability. I wanted to know if your child has any problems? I have always wondered if the blood thinners may have been the cause?
Avatar m tn Writing in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Jupiter group described a study of statin drugs in people with high C-reactive protein and low cholesterol. (1) High C-reactive protein levels are associated with inflammation and heart disease/stroke. The authors concluded that, in apparently healthy persons with elevated C-reactive protein levels, rosuvastatin (Crestor) significantly reduced the incidence of major cardiovascular events.
Avatar f tn m worried about what I was reading about epidural while taking lovenox, debates on when you should stop prior to surgery for pregnancy; possibly bleeding too much. That and I do not get numb underneath my skin so another c-section would be a bit uncomfortable since I passed out last time from all the pain and I like to be aware what is going on. That and if anything goes wrong I'd be passed out before I knew so....
Avatar n tn I am on Lovenox (Xaparin) since early in my pregnancy. Now my doctor wants to perform a c-section at week 37 without giving me much of a medical explanation. I feel strongly about a natural delivery. Does any one had a similar experience?
6822962 tn?1396329659 I had a c section 7 years ago and I feel like things have changed. Has anyone had one recently? I heard they call you now when they have a bed free. How does that work? My husband and I live an hour away from hospital. Does things change having a c section at 35/36 weeks.
Avatar f tn I also am borderline protein s deficiency. The lovenox and baby aspirin helped me conquer these things and I had twins (through my third IVF) in Oct. 2007. It can happen! I wish you much luck in the future.
1161124 tn?1305374478 t read thru all the replies but I wanted to let you know that I have the blood clotting disorder and I have elevated Protein S and Protein C. I had 3 miscarriages and then the doctor put me on Heparin starting before we got pregnant and I got pregnant the next month and I had a healthy baby girl :-) I just had my second child, another little girl :-) I took 1 baby aspirin and heparin shots 2 times a day. Hope this helps!
9990306 tn?1407113138 First, how do you know you have a protein deficiency? Did a doctor or nutritionist test you and tell you that, or are you just assuming? As for being vegan, if you're going to do that you have to know more than others how to eat properly. You don't need animal foods to get protein -- nuts, seeds, and beans are all excellent sources of protein.
Avatar f tn I also take extra folic acid and you might mention that as well. If protein s was responsible for this loss, then taking these steps, if your doctor approves, might help. I'm so sorry for your loss. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I woke up and I started bleeding. Not a lot but more than spotting. I have factor v Leiden protein s and protein c deficiency thrombophilia. I started my shots this past Friday and now I'm really worried. Is there anyone else who has had similar or same problem and the outcome was good? I need some kind of advice.
287479 tn?1272730364 I am 22 and I have had three miscarriages in the past year. I've never gotten past 6 weeks. My doctor did a batch of bloodwork on me, as well as shooting dye into my uterus and tubes. Everything in my blood work came back fine, except I have MTHFR, which is a blood clotting disorder. We finally feel ready to try again. My doctor gave me a prescription for Lovenox 40mgs once a day. Plus I'm on Folic Acid. Has anyone taken this and had a sucess story?
Avatar m tn In the US for instance, deficiency is stated to be 200 - 220pg/mL or below which is far too low. Other tests that show up a B12 deficiency (even if B12 serum is normal) is elevated urinary methylmalonic acid (MMA), homocysteine and/or holotranscobalamin. Other common causes of high blood pressure include a magnesium and/or vitamin D deficiency. If your magnesium level is too low, your blood vessels will constrict rather than relax, which will raise your blood pressure.
Avatar f tn So, I'm due in September but I have to take lovenox shots for large blood clots in my lungs. Today my doctor decided that I will be induced when the time comes, so that the situation can be controlled. Has anyone dealt with this situation?
Avatar m tn My son was delivery one month earlier due to placenta abruption. Right after I gave birth I had preclamsia and an absses in my C-section. When I went for my 6 month check up I was referred to a urologist. e did kub, renal ultra sound, urine culture and cytology, cystoscopy. Everything was normal. He referred me to a Nephrologist who ran a few test.At this point my protein levels seem to variate.
