Due to the probable inactivity as a result of the numbness and /or pain in limbs and other parts of the body, is morbid obesity one of the symptoms of Chiari, and what would one do with it. Would PT place the patient at risk or would it be to their advantage? What would be the course of treatment, Pt and or diet?

Not sure, but I do that morbid obesity can cause a restrictive defect which makes sense. The more fatty tissue in the chest area, the more space it takes up making less room for the lungs to expand with breathing. As far as the major cause of restrictive disorders..there are many diseases that cause this defect. There are intrinisic diseases (such as pulmonary fibrosis etc...) that cause scarring and rigid lungs making expansion difficult for the lungs.

If you can gain weight in this area along with other areas ( ie my legs and arms are NOT skinny) Or is Buffalo hump only asscociated with Cushings, aids drugs, steroids, or morbid obesity. Could my body just be accumulating fat here?

I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.

So, please forgive my bluntness, but 324lbs is considered morbid obesity...you may develop a myriad of health issues if you became pregnant, including high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, back problems or cardiac concerns.

I have been in atrial flutter for 2 1/2 months now. I am 74, have had 3 ht attacks, angioplasty, double by-pass surgery and now am waiting for an ablation.
