d get a second opinion on having to take coumadin for the rest of your life and maybe even a 3rd. The Lovenox and heparin do not cross into the placenta to the baby but coumadin does. I really hope you find this helpful. I've had a long 2 pregnancies, therefore chose not to have more children, but having the Factor 5, you can still definately have perfectly happy healthy children.

Hi, we've been TTC for about 5-6 years. I was diagnosed with "Tubal Issues" at first. Then FSH started increasing, too soon for my age (28). DH has low morphology and motility. We've had 2 failed IVfs. First one resulted in negative pregnancy test after transfer of 2good quality blasts. 2nd one,,again 2 Grade A blasts, one attached and resulted in miscarriage at 8 weeks (no heartbeat).

I've been on Lovenox for the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy (I'm 22 1/2 weeks now)...my baby has been fine. They just watch both of us a little closer. I'm not sure if the doctor told you but, Lovenox is pretty much the only blood thinner you can take that does not pass through your placenta. I guess for me, I had to weigh the risks of not taking the shot vs what "might" happen.

I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.

I was given Lovenox and cumiden for a leg blood clot for six days. After the sixth day I was told to no longer take any of the medications. I experienced headaches. I went to the hospital for blood work and a cat scan. All turned up well. My blood reading was INR 1.83 and pro time 21.7. I am now experiencing lack of energy, slight fever. What can I do? I am taking 2 mg of cumiden at this time (as of yesterday).

I've used lovenox with my last pregnancy and with this pregnancy due to a blood clotting disorder. Lovenox is perfectly safe. does not cross the placenta but thins the blood just enough and very evenly to prevent blood clots. there are no side effects except maybe I bruised slightly easier.

Is it common to have a PE with no evidence of a DVT? Am I realisticly looking at Lovenox for the rest of my life? I am a 32 year old male with no prior history and according to the doctors in good health. A few women on my mother's side have had DVT's around childbirth, but to my knowledge, noone has shown any genetic predisposition that can be identified.

I just had a miscarriage on July 30th and I was 23 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I took lovenox for 2 months because i got a blood clot in my left calf from taking birth control pills, and then had to be on coumadin for another 6 months of anticoagulation. In addition i am a nurse and have to give lovenox injections all the time and teach people how to do their own injections. I am not an OB nurse and I am curious why your are taking lovenox during your pregnancy, do you have a previous clotting issue with your pregnancies?

Lovenox is for blood clots. I had two pulmonary embolisms last tear from being on BC pills. As a precaution, they put me back in to avoid developing any more during the pregnancy. I don't know what fragmen is, I'm going to Google it now. @ krisdy, I didn't know you can do it in your legs. The Dr was so specific about where he wanted me to do it..in the love handles but if I can alternate from legs to stomach, I will. Where in your legs?

I was on lovenox for a short period of time. I could not find a spot for the injection that didn't make me cry. I'm sorry you are going through this.hopefully they can switch you to the heparin by mouth instead. They told me that they normally keep ppl on the lovenox until wk 37 b.c it's longer acting and then the heparin after that b.c it's out of your system faster and is safer foe delivery bit maybe you can get switched earlier? I am 22 and I have had three miscarriages in the past year. I've never gotten past 6 weeks. My doctor did a batch of bloodwork on me, as well as shooting dye into my uterus and tubes. Everything in my blood work came back fine, except I have MTHFR, which is a blood clotting disorder. We finally feel ready to try again. My doctor gave me a prescription for Lovenox 40mgs once a day. Plus I'm on Folic Acid. Has anyone taken this and had a sucess story?

I started taking baby aspirin and folgard 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. I am also injecting 30mg Lovenox everyday after positive pregnancy test. The pregnancy went well except bad nausea and vomittings. At 15 weeks I vomitted blood. My OB asked me stop aspirin for 2 weeks. I did and my nausea and vomitting were gone after 1 week. He asked me to resume baby aspirin after 2 weeks. I did and after 1 week I vomitted again.

m worried about what I was reading about epidural while taking lovenox, debates on when you should stop prior to surgery for pregnancy; possibly bleeding too much. That and I do not get numb underneath my skin so another c-section would be a bit uncomfortable since I passed out last time from all the pain and I like to be aware what is going on. That and if anything goes wrong I'd be passed out before I knew so....
