lovenox and side effects

Is it safe to use Lovenox and Ibuprofen at the same time? What kind of side effects should I expect if I do so? (I do not experience any pain). 2. Shall I be concerned about permanent implications (ie to kidney, liver etc) of using blood thinner? 3. After 10 days (when I stop the Lovenox), will I need a blood test? 4. How long would it normally take for such an injury to heal?

I did it last cycle and am going to do it again this try. I did not have any problems or side effects on Lovenox except dark bruises which is to be expected from the injections. Hope everything goes perfect for you!

I was just wondering if anyone else has had to use this and if there are any side effects or if anyone knows if it's better than heparin or anything like that

Im 18 weeks, my dr just called this morning saying my bloodwork has shown I should be on lovenox shots once a day. I do not want to be on these shots and have my baby have some wierd side effect because of them. Im pretty holistic and am already on an low dose asprin (which I dont like taking) a day and they still want me to do this. Ive done lots of research but still im torn between following my intuition and following drs orders.

I am 23 weeks pregnant, and my Dr has me on 40mg Lovenox daily. I have been taking it close to 2 months now, without any followup blood work. I was given Lovenox and cumiden for a leg blood clot for six days. After the sixth day I was told to no longer take any of the medications. I experienced headaches. I went to the hospital for blood work and a cat scan. All turned up well. My blood reading was INR 1.83 and pro time 21.7. I am now experiencing lack of energy, slight fever. What can I do? I am taking 2 mg of cumiden at this time (as of yesterday).

i spent 6 days in the hospital and was given 5 shots of Lovenox around my belly button. Lovenox is used to prevent blood clots. I immediately got huge bruises and my abdomen began to swell. I was told it was normal and would go away. With each day the swelling increased and the pain increased. I was discharged and kept going to my surgeon and the ER because the swelling kept growing on the right side of my abdomen. in 5 days it was up to 20lbs.

Hi! I am 26 weeks pregnant and and have had a somewhat complicated pregnancy. I found out that I am hetero for the Prothrombin gene mutation and also compound hetero MTHFR. So since 12 weeks on I've been on 60 mg lovenox, baby aspirin, prenatals, extra calcium and high folic acid. I get monthly ultrasounds for monitoring. At my last ultrasound this past Monday my Perinatologist just wanted to check my thyroid (not sure why). He ran a Free T3 and Free T4 test.

Just watch for abnormal bleeding Like bruising a lot or bloody nose and report to doctor. Its more important to prevent a blood clot because it can be so dangerous.

On 12/1 I had a complete metabolic profile drawn for a routine endocrinology follow up and LFTs then were ALT 17 and AST 18. The Sectral and Lovenox were initiated before my preop labs on 1/29, which showed LFTs elevated (ALT 120, AST 59). I am concerned that the Sectral has been toxic to my liver and want to stop the medication now. I will be having labs repeated on 2/13, and will see the gastroenterologist again on 1/21.

Yes, I am on Lovenox!!!! and I am 33 weeks pregnant...I am also on extra Folic Acid and I was diagnosed with MTHFR...so it does work.... Good Luck to you!!!

As far as I know lovenox is no reason to perform a c section. If you are unsure, then please ask your Dr. why he/she wants to deliver you this way. Your wishes do count and it's important you feel comfortable and confident in how the actual delivery takes place.

Hi I just did my first lovenox injection and think I might not be doing it right. I really had to push very hard for the needle to go in then it stopped about a third of the way and I had to jam it in the rest of the way. does this sound right? I have plenty of fat so it's not as if I got held up on muscle or anything.

t argue or comment on your doctors opinion on the necessity of taking it while also on Lovenox and I definitely agree that Lovenox and Folgard are MUCH more important rather then just the aspirin, but if he is of the opinion that they do two different things and you are not taking the aspirin to cover off the missing 12 hours, according to my hematologist, taking only one dose of Lovenox per day wasn't covering me off all day (which is where I obtained the information that it is short lived

I am currently 25 weeks and have been on Lovenox since week 6. I have a blood clotting problem. I will have a csection at 36 weeks but that is due to other health problems. I will have to have those stupid leg vacuun things while in hospital to keep circulation. I hate those things very loud and you can't move. Plus will have to continue Lovenox for 8 weeks after birth.

The last time I had Lovenox was one year ago and I was at 2.6 when I started the Lovenox. At that time I quit taking coumadin until after the procedure. The day after the procedure, I started up on coumadin and continued to taking the Lovenox until I was therapeutic again (between 2-3 INR). You stated that you were worried about the AFib. I assume you were referring to AFib while you are off coumadin and on Lovenox. I wouldn't worry about that.

I developed blood clots after being on chemo for my recurrence. I can't say 100% which chemo was the likely culpret because the Oncologist I had at the time had me on Taxol/Carbo, Topotecan, Gemzar, and Navelbine at different times in a 5 month period. I was put in ICU with several pulmonary emboli and had a tulip filter placed in my vena cava to prevent further clots from reaching my lungs. I was put on Warfarin but had to discontinue because it made my INR (clotting time) too high.

After testing I have Factor V Leiden and take 2x daily shots of 100mg lovenox. I already have had 3 natural pregnancies so this one surprised me. When I give my injection I find a spot that has some fat because it hurts worse to give the shot in the muscle and I get welts if I do. I go slow, I don't force the needle, if it won't go in I relax a little count to five in my head and try again. If it still doesn't work I try a different spot.

Turns out I have a bloody clotting disorder. I got pregnant again (and started the Lovenox injections) and everything was going well until last week. I began having spotting. My hcg was increasing, but my progesterone dropped quickly and I lost the baby. My husband and I are giving this one more shot. My doctor wants to start me on Clomid next month, along with one baby aspirin a day and and folic acid until I get pregnant.

my first pregnancy with this dr. and taking Lovenox for the past 15 days.....Had second sonogram yesterday and saw fetal pole, yolk sac and heartbeat!!! s why I am not going to be injecting the Lovenox any longer and today I skip my 5mg warfarin . I begin again the 5mg warfarin on Saturday and go for protime on Monday to see if it has come down a tad into the target range .

d to my doc, to navigate this is to go on Heparin instead of Lovenox because your anticoagulant dose can be counteracted, thus reducing alot of the risk of anti-coagulant-based bleeding at the c-section site. And the side-benefit is that if I go into labor unexpectadly I won't have to be put under general and an epidural should be fine. I'm so sorry I can't remember who asked me this!! I know she wasn't pregnant yet but this was a concern to her.

If your brother was hospitalized due to mini strokes he may have been given anticoagulants to dissolve clots and keep the blood thin. The side effect is bleeding. The bruise could be due to that. INR, bleeding time, clotting time etc should be done and he must consult his doctor immediately-ASAP as he could also be bleeding internally. Take care!
