lovenox

Avatar f tn I am high risk pregnancy . Cause of the blood clots ,and I give myself shots in the stomach everyday . But I am 26 weeks so far . But I don't know they going 2 do my labor .
Avatar f tn Are any of you high risk pregnancies due to a high blood clotting risk (I had multiple bilateral PE in May of last year)? How is your pregnancy coming along? If you are on medicaid for pregnancy, are your heparin/lovenox shots covered by it? I'm worried I won't be able to afford my medication, as my BcBs considers it a specialty drug with a copay of $100 a month! Any input is appreciated!
Avatar n tn I also have the same issue. My IGM first came back borderline and then the 2nd 2 tests were just slightly positive. I don't have any history of miscarriages. I'm on 40mg Lovenox a day and have been spotting brown blood for past 2 weeks. I have heard Lovenox causes bleeding. I don't think I need to be on Lovenox. My Rhemetologist said some docs would think Lovenox is necessary while other docs would think I wouldn't need Lovenox.
Avatar n tn Thank yo for the answer to my blog. I am on Atenolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia.
Avatar f tn I go to a cardiologist twice a year and take 2 meds for high blood pressure and arrythmias. I suggest you go to a better cardiologist, I thing Cleveland Clinic would be great if you are in the area. You would probably need valve repair and it's better to do it when you are young and relatively healthy. God bless you and hope you get better soon!
Avatar n tn I also have a clotting disorder (compound heterozygous MTHFR). Mine is not so severe that I need blood thinners but I have heard of people on them and they do seem to work well. Were you on them with your other children? My understanding of blood clotting disorders is that you were born with them. Maybe you won't need to take the blood thinners if you never had to take them before. Good luck!
7552771 tn?1469929649 If its too high they'd put you on a blood thinner like lovenox to reduce your risk of developing clots. Slightly elevated can still be considered normal though as long as it doesn't keep trending upwards.. And if it was too high it would be harmful to you before it's harmful to baby.
Avatar n tn In other cases you might have to take a shot of low-dose heparin every day (usually lovenox). I have Factor V and have had two miscarriages, although my doctor does not seem to think it has anything to do with it, as it seems to have more of an impact in the second and third trimester (I was supposed to start Lovenox when a heartbeat was detected). Both my miscarriages were early on (8 weeks and 6.5 weeks).
598654 tn?1330217159 With both of my pregnancies, I had to give myself shots 2 times a day of Lovenox (a blood thinner, stronger than heparin) and my blood thickness was closely monitored (blood draw a few times a week until the dosage was right). I did that until the day I had my baby and then I was on coumadin for 6 weeks after having both (then I was weened off of all blood thinners).
Avatar m tn MTHFR mutations, C677T and A1298C information found give pretty much the same explanation; forums understandably give the best outcomes and successes. But, would like to know the other side of the coin as well. Birth defects, what kind, has anyone out here had negative outcomes with these pregnancies?
193609 tn?1292180293 I know that most people start off on Clomid, and I was wondering if anyone had taken Clomid if they had blood clots in the past? I had blood clots in my leg after I had my son and was told I could never take hormones again....no estrogen, nothing. I can't take birth control or anything....!!! I am not sure how fertility meds work, but are there any that don't require hormones??? I am really worried that because I have PCOS, I won't be able to get pregnant on my own....
Avatar n tn As far as I know lovenox is no reason to perform a c section. If you are unsure, then please ask your Dr. why he/she wants to deliver you this way. Your wishes do count and it's important you feel comfortable and confident in how the actual delivery takes place.
Avatar n tn 1) Have you ever heard of lovenox injections to prevent further clots in stents and 2) what are the risks from lovenox to her relatively healthy kidneys (after 30+ yrs of diabetes)? Thank you for your good advice. You were the only Dr. who said E.R.
Avatar f tn t argue or comment on your doctors opinion on the necessity of taking it while also on Lovenox and I definitely agree that Lovenox and Folgard are MUCH more important rather then just the aspirin, but if he is of the opinion that they do two different things and you are not taking the aspirin to cover off the missing 12 hours, according to my hematologist, taking only one dose of Lovenox per day wasn't covering me off all day (which is where I obtained the information that it is short lived
Avatar n tn What I did was stop the Coumadin 5 days before, and then 4 days before started Lovenox to bridge up until the surgery (Lovenox is a subcutaneous injection and is a Low Molecular Weight Heparin that will keep the blot thin enough to prevent clotting). The night of the day of the procedure I had, I restarted the Coumadin, and the following day after the surgery used Lovenox for 2 days giving the Coumadin time to begin building back up again.
Avatar n tn On 12/1 I had a complete metabolic profile drawn for a routine endocrinology follow up and LFTs then were ALT 17 and AST 18. The Sectral and Lovenox were initiated before my preop labs on 1/29, which showed LFTs elevated (ALT 120, AST 59). I am concerned that the Sectral has been toxic to my liver and want to stop the medication now. I will be having labs repeated on 2/13, and will see the gastroenterologist again on 1/21.
Avatar n tn Im looking to talk to anyone that has been on lovenox or similar blood thinnes post partum!!
Avatar f tn The Neurologist said that the blood clot happened because I have a PFO, thick blood and at the time was on birth control, which put me off balance, thus the blood clot going through my PFO and into my brain. So the Neurologist recommended me taking a baby aspirin every day for as long as I live to thinin my blood. Well the Hematologist was completley shocked to hear that!!! He said Aspirin won't do anything to your blood- it won't even touch it!
Avatar n tn They put in a screen to prevent clots from reaching his lungs, and they put him on a blood thinner called Coumadin (which is the same or similar to warfarin, I believe). He will probably be on the Coumadin the rest of his life. That's standard procedure, as I understand it. I take Evista (raloxifene) to fight osteoporosis. The box says that it could cause blood clots, so I know it's possible for drugs to be the culprit.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been put on bedrest until delivery and use Blood Thinners Heparin and Lovenox to keep from getting blood clots?
Avatar f tn my first pregnancy with this dr. and taking Lovenox for the past 15 days.....Had second sonogram yesterday and saw fetal pole, yolk sac and heartbeat!!! I was so excited, I was on cloud nine all day...until two hours ago when I heard my latest #'s.....already spoke to dr. he said not to worry and go for blood test Mon. He did tell me originally that the minute I think I;m pregnant I should start the Lovenox. I started it when my levels were only42!!! Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn I just had a miscarriage on July 30th and I was 23 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now.
286207 tn?1249282027 i have mthfr and when i was ttc and during my last pregnancy i took lovenox injections. my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage, just like my other 3. however, they think it was due to my progesterone not being high enough. we've decided that we dont want to try to have children now. hope things work out for you!
