Lovenox and aspirin

Common Questions and Answers about Lovenox and aspirin

lovenox

Avatar f tn t argue or comment on your doctors opinion on the necessity of taking it while also on Lovenox and I definitely agree that Lovenox and Folgard are MUCH more important rather then just the aspirin, but if he is of the opinion that they do two different things and you are not taking the aspirin to cover off the missing 12 hours, according to my hematologist, taking only one dose of Lovenox per day wasn't covering me off all day (which is where I obtained the information that it is short lived
Avatar n tn I just had a miscarriage on July 30th and I was 23 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was put on Lovenox and a baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to miscarrying. The Doctor seems to think that when we get pregnant again that I can get on Lovenox and baby aspirin when i'm 7 weeks pregnant and that the pregnancy will be a healthy succuessful one. I'm just wondering has anyone else had a successful pregnancy taking Lovenox? Just really nervous and have alot of questions now.
513660 tn?1217171919 m no doctor, but I would think in your case, the baby aspirin would probably be enough. That said, though, I have Factor V, and will have to take Lovenox once I get pregnant again...but for now, I just take a baby aspirin every day. Since Lovenox is a blood thinner, there i a risk of hemorrhage, so it really just depends on how easily your blood clots. Best of luck to you, and welcome to the forum!
Avatar f tn I was just reading up on Lovenox on Wikipedia and it listed situations where Lovenox and aspirin are used together to treat certain heart-related problems. I have the feeling that the reason they indicated not taking both together is because despite the hematologist saying that aspirin doesn't thin your blood, aspirin thins your blood. It's a common blood thinner for people with a-fib.
287479 tn?1272730364 Turns out I have a bloody clotting disorder. I got pregnant again (and started the Lovenox injections) and everything was going well until last week. I began having spotting. My hcg was increasing, but my progesterone dropped quickly and I lost the baby. My husband and I are giving this one more shot. My doctor wants to start me on Clomid next month, along with one baby aspirin a day and and folic acid until I get pregnant.
Avatar n tn We are 8w5d pregnant now. Our RE recommended Lovenox/Prednisone/Baby Aspirin. How do you know when it's safe to stop each med? Nurse said it's usually through 12 weeks. But I have seen other people say online they took Lovenox until 36 weeks. Since this protocol worked, I'm scared to stop any of them. Thanks.
Avatar n tn we were going to a fertility specialist and finally was able to get pregnant again the doc put me on lovenox, baby aspirin, and progesterone..looks like everything is going fine with this pregnancy..Im 9.3 weeks due Feb 21st.
Avatar f tn I Was Induced With My Daughter And They Had Me Stop Taking MY Baby Aspirin A Week Before Induction And Stop The Lovonox A Day Before Induction Then Start It The Next Day For 6Weeks After.
Avatar m tn I was given the choice between staying on the baby aspirin or switching to Heparin (same as Lovenox), I decided to stay on the baby aspirin. I am now almost at 33 weeks and stopped worrying about this blood clot mutation. Your daughter is 12 weeks: miscarriages because of this type of blood clot mutations occur generally in the 1st trimester so she is already past the delicate time.
645220 tn?1233764146 Hi I just did my first lovenox injection and think I might not be doing it right. I really had to push very hard for the needle to go in then it stopped about a third of the way and I had to jam it in the rest of the way. does this sound right? I have plenty of fat so it's not as if I got held up on muscle or anything.
Avatar f tn I was put on progesterone when i was 8 wks and motrin at 9 due to bleeding and contractions.
Avatar m tn My last pregnancy I took extra folic acid, B vitamins, and baby aspirin for good emasure. Now I have gotten a surprise BFP and my doc is talking about Lovenox (low dose). Maternal fetal medicine says NO WAY its too risky without having a diagnosed blood clotting disorder, but my OB and RE are willing to put me on it. I'm concerned about the risks (to myself, I know it won't affect the baby). Is it all that risky? Could it help in my situation?
1227139 tn?1462334630 After finding out about MTHFR and 3 consecutive losses, I had been sent to two MTHFR specialists here in Toronto and also a high risk perinatal OB/Gyn who have me on 40mg Lovenox and LD (81mg) baby aspirin along with the increased Folic Acid and Vitamin B complex BUT - I just read that taking any form or Aspirin can be responsible for boys having problems with low sperm count along with undescended testes.
Avatar n tn In other cases you might have to take a shot of low-dose heparin every day (usually lovenox). I have Factor V and have had two miscarriages, although my doctor does not seem to think it has anything to do with it, as it seems to have more of an impact in the second and third trimester (I was supposed to start Lovenox when a heartbeat was detected). Both my miscarriages were early on (8 weeks and 6.5 weeks).
374593 tn?1257879950 Many women with one or both forms of throbophilia are on baby aspirin and Fogard for life AND Lovenox injections thoughout pg.
Avatar n tn 1) Have you ever heard of lovenox injections to prevent further clots in stents and 2) what are the risks from lovenox to her relatively healthy kidneys (after 30+ yrs of diabetes)? Thank you for your good advice. You were the only Dr. who said E.R.
1563422 tn?1295063450 can I continue to try and conceive if I take the prescribed vitamins, a low dose aspirin and a prenatal? Say I do get pregnant, can the blood thinner injections wait until I can get to a dr around 4 -5 weeks (as I no longer have insurance at the moment). How much over the counter B vitamins do I need if I can't get the prescription? Lastly, after I ovulate should I take myself off the LD aspirin or continue on until I see a doc? Sorry, lots of questions!
Avatar n tn RE had me start Lovenox after 2nd beta (I have been on baby aspirin and am continuing). My question is, with a low-med positive is Lovenox indicated. RE says he is being extra cautious, which I respect. But, could it cause any problem with the baby or pregnancy if it is NOT needed. Also, could the elevated ACL have anything to do with my infertility? Thank you in advance.
286207 tn?1249282027 i have mthfr and when i was ttc and during my last pregnancy i took lovenox injections. my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage, just like my other 3. however, they think it was due to my progesterone not being high enough. we've decided that we dont want to try to have children now. hope things work out for you!
Avatar f tn I have a blood clotting disorder and have been taking lovenox my whole pregnancy. My doctor said I'll be on it 6 weeks after birth and then there is no longer extra risk so you should be all right at this point.
Avatar f tn I had an ablation last week and am doing well, but am very beat up (low energy, black and blue, sore throat from TEE and polka dot bruises from Lovenox). My question is how long a time period is it usual to be on Lovenox? My doctor has said a full month. From my research, other than pregnant women, for all other conditions it says 2 weeks or less. I can't take coumadin due to a severe reaction to it.
1085628 tn?1326551885 I got my BFP at 8 or 9 dpo, and I went in to see her IMMEDIATELY. She started me on lovenox the same day...30mg twice a day. She kept me on the baby aspirin and Folgard, which contained 4400mcg folic acid, in addition to my 800mcg that I get from my prenatals. I also take fish oil 1000mg twice a day as it has natural blood thinning properties. I am now 34 1/2 weeks along, and we have a scheduled induction for 38 weeks. I absolutely cannot wait to meet my little man!!!
Avatar f tn and yes, it is an acutal blood clotting disorder, which is why lovenox and/or 81 mgs of aspirin is a must. the reason why mthfr causes miscarrage is tiny blood clots get caught in the placenta, which causes the flow of oxygen to get cut off from the fetus thus the pregnancy ends. if you get this disorder you should not ever take birth control again, because bc increases the chance for blood clots. bc with this disorder can be deadly.
Avatar f tn Slack, I had 6 miscarriage and 2 d&c just found out that I have a blood clotting, Iam 7 weeks2 days prego and im on lovenox so far were doing great just nervist nexts apointment not untill April 15 four week away any one els on lovenox had this worked for you?
Avatar f tn Is that medication similar to lovenox . I take lovenox injections once a day and baby aspirin daily to prevent clots. Lovenox are pretty measured shots that are injected into the stomach.
598654 tn?1330217159 d get a second opinion on having to take coumadin for the rest of your life and maybe even a 3rd. The Lovenox and heparin do not cross into the placenta to the baby but coumadin does. I really hope you find this helpful. I've had a long 2 pregnancies, therefore chose not to have more children, but having the Factor 5, you can still definately have perfectly happy healthy children.
674725 tn?1367439630 I can TOTALLY relate to the crazy mind games! As for Factor V (full name is Factor V Leiden), it's a blood clotting disorder that affects the way the blood coagulates. It's inherited, and I would have never known about it had it not been for my cousin having a deep vein thrombosis a few years back (her dad and my dad are identical twins). I've been on baby aspirin since my first miscarriage, every day, and now that I'm pregnant, I'm on Lovenox.
