Avatar m tn To be brief: broke my foot (Jones Fracture) on 3/12 was in a cast NWB from 3/17 through 6/18 then due to having numerous issues with the cast was put in a boot for the last few weeks. Still NWB, still in a wheelchair. I can't be 100% NWB due to my house not being wheelchair friendly (can't use crutches, had MAJOR issues with them). but overall I am REALLY good (maybe walk a total of 30 minutes all day (when you add up all my bathroom trips!
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you have successfully lost weight or stayed the same while pregnant. They only thing I plan on doing as far as losing weight is to eat healthy foods and not to overeat like I tend to do and to also excercise. I know if Im prego I shouldnt overdo myself on exercise but light exercise and walking wont hurt! :) I just would like to minimize the chance of getting gestational diabetes or preclampsia while prego! :) Thoughts, opinions, concerns, etc are all welcome!!!
Avatar f tn That happens alot In the first trimester.

Avatar f tn And it can be hard to do aerobic exercise with just your arms propelling yourself in a wheelchair (though, worth trying imo). Perhaps a local swimming pool might provide an outlet for exercising?
Avatar f tn This really is a question that you need to ask your surgeon. If you are completely NON weight bearing on your leg after surgery, then more than likely, you will need to use a wheelchair at least for a while. If, however, you are permitted to bear weight on your injured leg, then there shouldn't be an issue. Even using a crutch or cane on your right side would give you a bit more support as opposed to not using anything at all.
Avatar n tn For the last 5 years I have been experiencing weakness in my right leg if walk a lot. I exercise a lot, enjoy swimming, and walk everywhere. Lately however, it has been getting a little worse. In fact today I did very little physical exercise, only a 40 minute walk, and after wards my right leg could no longer support it's weight. I had to hop around on one foot, and borrow my friends wheelchair for support.
Avatar n tn I am a quadriplegic in a wheelchair and am having a hard time maintaining a healthy lifestyle and weight. I have gained fifty pound's since my accident in 2012. I want to loose weight, but find it difficult being in said wheelchair. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal to lose weight while pregnant. I lost weight the first trimester and my doctor didn't worry as long as baby is growing. Just eat healthy and stay active! !
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal especially if ur on ur last month.. baby is swollowing the amniotic fluid. That's where the lost in weight comes from. We don't produce as much to replace it after a while cuz baby is getting ready for delivery.
29837 tn?1414534648 This is the weight I weighed at 27 years old. For many years now, my weight has been 185. The now weight of 175 lbs. is a loss of 17 lbs. in less than 3 weeks after leaving the hospital. Funny thing is, my appetite is ravenous, my blood tests all came beck fine last week, as well as still cleared of Hep C. My energy level is normal I've heard somewhere that because muscle weighs, it has to be taken into consideration when weighing someone.
Avatar f tn Diet aids such as Releana are not the best way to lose weight. While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.
5147790 tn?1364304489 t that hypothyroidism, insulin resistance or PCOS, all of which can cause weight gain and/or make losing next to impossible. Good luck and keep posting.
495284 tn?1333894042 You may want to try melatonin, sleepytime tea (celestial seasonings) or benadryl for sleep - the calcium/magnesium will help with legs and creepy skin.....so will a hot bath and also a heating pad (not while in bath!!!) - lots of tricks....
Avatar f tn s common for woman who are overweight to lose weight while pregnant..
11100381 tn?1436779908 I am at week 10, and instead of the morning sickness getting better, it's getting worse. I went from massive fruit cravings, to eating pancakes now and then, to eating portions about half a sandwhich, and now, I can barely eat a piece of toast. I was drinking ensure to make up for what I havn't been eating, but now I can't stomach even that. I feel so hungry and everytime I try to eat, my stomach screams in pain at me and I usually end up throwing it up.
Avatar f tn I had even lost more weight in the beginning of my pregnancy I weighed 122 before I got pregnant then around 8-16 wks I was 114 now Im only 116 I've always been a small framed girl and the doctors say Im healthly I just get concerned on being underweight and if it affects my baby..
Avatar f tn I do feel losing 15 kg in 3 months is unrealistic if you plan to do this healthily. I've lost 15 kg but it has taken me 12 months. However, it hasn't been an onerous task, whereas diets I've done in the past have been. This time, I changed my life style as well as my eating habits. I haven't cut out chocolate altogether, and I cut it down gradually (which is why it's taken 12 months). I found that the craving for it dissolved over time, and now I rarely eat it.
Avatar n tn Fighting through the sluggishness and fatigue of hypothyroidism is difficult, but adding daily exercised can be a great aid in losing weight. If you aren't currently exercising, start with an easy walk. Get plenty of rest. The National Sleep Foundation reports that people who sleep less than 6 hours each night have a higher body mass index than people who sleep 8 or more hours.
