Avatar f tn If you are about 170 pounds and have muscle and strong bones then you are at a healthy weight for your height. You probably don't need to lose the fat. My best advice is work on your body image issues and self esteem instead of trying to lose fat that probably isn't there. It is healthy for women to have a natural fat layer on their bodies for pregnancy. The reason the "weight" doesn't stay off is probably because your body needs it to be healthy. Just focus on your health.
Avatar m tn When I was going to college, I took a workout class that was actually ROTCs pt class. The group encouragement was amazing!! Try looking into group classes offered by your gym or get a friend with similar goals. The buddy system is such a motivatior. Good luck!
1337483 tn?1383544183 When I was weighing between 220-235 I was working out all the time at least 4 days a week while in college but I also was on the college diet (late night taco bell and beer).....but even after I came home from college I was still 220 and wasnt loosing anything even with working out....Its like after I had the apendectomy My appetite went out the window, and Im not complaining I just dont want to let this pass unnoticed and then 5 years down the road i have some type of serious trouble....
Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.
Avatar f tn It also helps to plan your meals ahead of time so that you know before hand how many calories your going to eat that day. You dont have to eat much of some foods to keep from losing weight. You can purchase the calorie counter book in a paper back at most any book store... Id also suggest that you try eating 1,500to 1,600 calories daily. Most males usually use or burn about 2400 calories daily.
Avatar n tn Dear lyn01, I am a volunteer and not a physician and can only tell you my own personal experience. It would be helpful to know what your bs or A1C are running. I know that your metabolism may have something to do with this. You stated that you are eating well and excercising. I have been researching this issue and have not found any different studies between men and women losing weight with type 1. You didn't say if you are lifting weights or doing strength training.
Avatar m tn 7 year old dog has been losing weight for the last few months and is now skin and bones. He has been through numerous tests, had food changes, IV shots, antibiotics for urinary infection (cleared up). We even changed vets and just before christmas we were told we would have to make a decision with him if no progress. He had the infection and was sick, vomiting when he had the infection but hasnt been since the infection cleared.
Avatar n tn My doctor sent me for some sort of Iodine Uptake Test to confirm the diagnsosis. I started losing weight rapidly dropping from 287 pounds to 199 pounds in about five months. While away at college I started gaining weight again rather rapidly, I thought that the condition may have actually reversed itself and turned into hypothyroidism but after returning to my doctor and having more blood work done I found out that my hormone level had nearly doubled from 2.5 to 4.7.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you have successfully lost weight or stayed the same while pregnant. They only thing I plan on doing as far as losing weight is to eat healthy foods and not to overeat like I tend to do and to also excercise. I know if Im prego I shouldnt overdo myself on exercise but light exercise and walking wont hurt! :) I just would like to minimize the chance of getting gestational diabetes or preclampsia while prego! :) Thoughts, opinions, concerns, etc are all welcome!!!
Avatar f tn u really shouldn't try to lose weight while pregnant. but if u get bad morning sickness u may not have a choice. try to keep ur weight the same or if it bugs u talk to ur doc. good luck dear!
Avatar f tn Idk your not supposed to lose weight in pregnancy. I mean sOme ppl get really sick and help it but you really shouldn't lose just to lose. You should talk to your doctor about it.
Avatar f tn Diet aids such as Releana are not the best way to lose weight. While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.
Avatar f tn s common for woman who are overweight to lose weight while pregnant..
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal to lose weight while pregnant. I lost weight the first trimester and my doctor didn't worry as long as baby is growing. Just eat healthy and stay active! !
Avatar f tn It's also possible that 166 was not an accurate weight or was due to water weight. Not that gaining 6 lbs in a week is impossible, but it's unlikely. That would require an extra 3000 calories per day. Extra. I doubt you're eating 4500-5000 calories per day. :) More likely, you were closer to 161-162 last week aside from water weight, so the 163 this week is right on target.
29837 tn?1414534648 I saw the primary a week ago regarding this problem. His take, as well as mine, is the result of stopping the dreadful pain medication Oxycodone abruptly, which was prescribed for me after my spinal surgery. As my ideal weight is 185, I now am 173. However, that's one pound more than a week ago. What this means, is that I'm not losing anymore weight, but have gained one pound. This tell me it's a gradual recovery from the withdrawal I'm going through. I know losing 15 lbs.
5147790 tn?1364304489 t that hypothyroidism, insulin resistance or PCOS, all of which can cause weight gain and/or make losing next to impossible. Good luck and keep posting.
