Avatar n tn i had a similar experience in high school. I felt self conscious about my weight and shape. The first thing you have to do is remember you are your best friend and that nobody can know exactly what you need better than you do. Make a goal and stick to it. Make it a goal you can reach. Like getting more exercise or eating healthy for a week. Then reward your self with a treat when reach it. I always use the weekends to eat whatever I want. Then get back excercise and eating right on Monday.

If after losing weight your blood pressure is still elevated, it needs to be further evaluated by your primary care provider for other avoidable reasons, and may need medication therapy, as well.

Nutrition is just as important as exercise for weight loss. You do not have to do anything drastic to your diet. Just make a few smart healthy changes to the foods you eat. I recommend The Diet for Teenagers Only by Barbara Schroeder. She offers healthy tips which are not too drastic and there is a food journal to track what you eat.

I know people will say "just eat more" but it really isn't that simple. It's problematic for my stomach to adjust to larger portions. My antibiotics are also causing extreme fatigue; I can't exercise regularly like I used to (exercise really helped) and I sometimes skip meals.

Avatar f tn I'm not sure that's a factor given the amount of weight you intend to lose. At your age, you probably won't have that problem, but as we age, we get loose skin whether we're losing weight or not. Better to lose it now than later. I would imagine that if you incorporate resistance training in your exercise regimen you can work on that, but know that once you do resistance training and gain muscle, you have to maintain it or it will turn into loose skin. Look.
