Avatar f tn Too many things going on here for us to be of much help. When you increase exercise, you have to eat more, not less. Weight isn't a function of calories as much as it is how your digestive system processes food -- how quickly it metabolizes into sugar and how efficiently you digest it (constipation suggests a problem here). And you're always going to plateau -- nobody keeps losing weight forever or they'd die.
Avatar n tn I know the feeling. There is always a tomorrow or next week when it comes to proactively losing weight. And if I feel overweight then yes I want the weight gone yesterday. Some advice. Don't drop the weight quickly, this is rarely a long-term solution. If I took time and had the mental discipline I could have lost weight many times over. Do it once, do it right. Issues with weight and body image are taxing (emotionally, physically and financially) and demoralizing.
Avatar n tn At the very least, you will be a healthier you even if weight loss does not happen. Good luck! Losing weight is hard at any age.
Avatar f tn For losing weight the most effective way is to sprint for about 30seconds then jog for 30seconds and keep this going for about half an hour
Avatar f tn Losing weight quickly is never good and causes yo yo effects. Regardless to one of the comments earlier swimming is the number 1 best over all total body work out. Have you ever seen a fat swimmer??? No. As for losing 5 lbs in one week that is probably mostly water weight and not actual fat loss. You need to find your calorie maintenance number and shoot to be calorie deficient by no more that 500 to get the body to lose weight healthily.
Avatar f tn Heyy everyone I am a 23 yeas old and I am havering trouble losing weight I have been very over weight for some years now I started gaining my weight because of the medication I take but I no longer take then I had been on them for a while but not anymore. The the weight has stayed on over the years. I am desperately trying to loose weight but excercising is hard for me. Any ideas of what to eat? How to go about losing weight? How to eat healthy?
Avatar f tn Have you thought of keeping a food journal, if even for a couple of weeks, to make sure your getting enough calories and the right kinds of foods? You could also measure yourself to see if your losing inches instead of weight. Don't forget even if you know what your doing your body sometimes takes a little longer to figure it out. Don't stop what your doing.
Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar f tn my friend has fallen while running on the stairs on her right leg ten years ago and now her leg swells often and the doctors told her to loose weight to solve the problem but she can't do any kind of exercise because of her leg .. and recently she had a problem with breathing too.. what do u suggest for her??
Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.
Avatar f tn I hurts me going up and down the stairs too. But i do it anyways. I was pretty active before I got pregnant so i try to stay that way plus it's better for delivery. I walk to the store, park, around the neighborhood and sometimes am pushing myself with each step. My daughter needs some fresh air and play time out doors before it gets cold. She's 1 1/2 so we be running.
Avatar m tn Maybe you should take him to his doctor if you can. They may refer him to a neurologist or maybe even an orthopaedic doctor. I'm not sure. Besides the running, he never has issues with walking up stairs or up hills or any issues like that?
978106 tn?1285108401 I do not expect to lose alot of weight at a time. I want to do this slowly so it will stick, but the problem is im gaining weight. I lost 11lbs at first and have since gained back 3 in the last 2 weeks. I also have been more active over the last month, but admit not so much in the last week, I took a full time temp job and go to school full time so I have not had the time as of late. Help!
Avatar f tn -running or even fast walking (NO WALKING) for about 30min each day is really helpful (fast walking actually burns alot more calories than running and works you out more) With running or fast walking, make sure you move your arms alot. -50-100squats each day will definitely tone your legs and hips -Horizontal bicycle or situps workout your stomach (I personally find that horizontal bicycles work me out more than situps) Sooo yuup!!
Avatar n tn I have been doing weight watchers for over eight months and I have hit a pleateu, so I started running for 30-45 minutes 5 days a week and instead of losing weight I started gaining weight. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I am 54 years old and having a difficult time losing weight. During the past 8-9 months, I have not been able to continue my typical exercise regimen due to knee pain and surgery. As a result, I have gained the nine pounds I lost and added 7 more.Approximately two weeks ago, I started to exercise again, managing to workout four days each week, although no change in weight. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn t gained that much weight so far with this pregnancy, but I was over weight before this pregnancy (this is baby #4) and have a tendacy to have trouble losing weight or even gaining a little after the pregnancy.
1066531 tn?1254969334 I’ve been working out for many years now, and i want to know how I can tone my body better without losing a large portion of weight, mostly my chest and midsection? I’m 6ft 198lbs I would like to be around 195 but in much better “shape”. My diet ***** and i’m trying to work on it, but I work out at the gym 2-3 times a week lifting weights and running. I dont run a whole bunch though, would that help my problem or will that just make me lose wieght?
Avatar m tn My friend Barb on this site strongly recommends yoga -- look on Google for "the plank," for example. It helps build your core. And, if you live in a house with stairs, try just going up and down the stairs twice every time you go up or down, just turn around and do it once again, but fast. If you do that every day, it will begin to build your strength.
Avatar n tn run at 6mph for 2 minutes then run at 3mph or rest for 2 minutes) will be more effective in losing weight than if I ran or walked at a steady pace.Is there any truth to this>?
Avatar m tn benign arrhythmias that pop up sometimes), intermittent feelings of lightheadedness that make me feel like I am about to pass out, and sometimes shaky legs that tremor when walking down stairs (not up stairs or on flat ground) or at the conclusion of runs, no matter how easy or hard the effort was (and EMG of legs and MRI of brain and spine have always been completely normal so it doesn't appear to be neurological or neuromuscular).
Avatar f tn Ok thank you ladies I just had well firm legs not no more I would do lots if squats and running and still losing weight lost 28 soo far it's been 2 weeks since I had mine
