Avatar f tn Yes it's normal to lose weight while pregnant. I lost weight the first trimester and my doctor didn't worry as long as baby is growing. Just eat healthy and stay active! !
Avatar f tn These types of weight loss are not recommended, because they lose weight too quickly, and are most likely losing water and muscle, not fat. Nearly all lost weight is regained as soon as the plan is stopped...
Avatar f tn I've put on close to 15 lbs I the past 5-6 months and I'm extremely unhappy with this. Hoping this will help me maintain my goals & lose weight in a HEALTHY way. The weight gain was due to my unhealthy eating, so I'm trying to get back on the right track!!
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar f tn I'm no doctor, just a man who has read way too many articles on fitness and tested a few out. What I've found the best way to lose weight is to find your maintenance level (you can find a rough calculator online) that will tell you about how many calories you burn in an avg day. Subtract around 250 calories and you've found your ideal calorie amount! Keep in mind you should take exercise into account as well. You should be shooting around -2 lbs a week.
Avatar f tn I would suggest making an appointment with your family doctor to discuss a realistic weight loss and a possible new food plan to achieve this new realistic goal. Losing 15 lbs in 2 weeks is not realistic and can put your health in jeopardy, big time. I wish you well.
10366239 tn?1409616907 I am over weight because for the last few years I've had a "desk job" and I was not exercising at all because I was always wiped out because of my hours. I have a new job and I walk constantly. Today I walked 5 miles just at work. I'm not eating differently but I'm losing weight because of the activity. I know I'm supposed to be gaining weight. I don't know how this works. I can't not work and exercise is important anyway.
Avatar m tn So, eating yogurt, almonds and fish is very healthful, but these are foods associated with losing weight, not gaining it. Just depends on what the poster is after, and so far the poster hasn't filled in any details, but again, if all the person wants is to gain weight, just eat more and focus on unhealthy food and you'll gain weight. Won't be good for you, but it should work absent something quite wrong with the digestive system or metabolism.
Avatar f tn m mainly going off of how others lost the weight, but I do know that losing a lot of weight very quickly is unhealthy which is why I set the year or so timeline. I don't expect to be exactly on target then it is just a reaching goal. I've checked the charts and the average rate for my height and age is 120 to 145. I've used to be very small and gain weight quickly when I hit my teens and haven't been able to lose it.
Avatar n tn Calories, while a part of it, isn't the main factor in weight. How well and how quickly you metabolize what you eat and how much activity you engage in are more important. Counting calories doesn't really do you much good in the long-term if those calories are, say, in the form of foods that metabolize quickly into sugar -- if not burned off quickly they will store as fat.
Avatar n tn re not the most important tool for choosing a diet -- some high calorie foods are very good for losing weight, some low calorie foods are bad for losing weight. The real issue is how you metabolize and digest your food, and that will differ by the person.
Avatar n tn Why do you want to be underweight? If you love sports you most likely have a lot of muscle mas making up your current underweight BMI. Get a fat percentage measurement done and you may find that you should actually worry more about properly nourishing and taking care of your body's needs than losing weight. Don't hurt yourself, and your body will continue to play sports. Underweight is not good. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.
Avatar f tn Every appointment ive lost 3 or 4 pounds. I am, however, over weight. I also know that I shouldnt be losing weight. Ive had no morning sickness or anything. My doctor doesnt seem bothered but this Im 15 weeks now. And its bothering me.
Avatar n tn Losing slowly and steadily by changing your lifestyle and diet is the way to go, but nobody can tell you how quickly the weight will come off. It depends on your metabolism, how much exercise you can handle, and how disciplined and knowledgeable you are about eating healthfully.
Avatar f tn Losing as much as 18 pounds in one month is not a healthy way to lose weight and chances are, if you do lose that quickly, you'll gain back as soon as you start eating normal again.
Avatar f tn Losing 10 lbs in two weeks is very unhealthy for you, but if your really dead set on it run A LOT, cardio and lifting, try some calisthenics, sweat is your fat crying make that b***h cry!!, there's a lot of at home and gym workout plans and tips and ideas on Instagram just type in weightlose and it pops up, Goodluck!!..
Avatar n tn Your Thyroid could be not working properly. I was losing my hair & gaining weight rapidly & found out that my Thyroid was to blame. That is why I take a synthetic hormone for my thyroid now. I've stopped gaining the weight but before we had discovered what was causing all of my problems I went from a healthy 150lbs to an unhealthy 360lbs in about 6months time. Now that we have me on the synthyroid.

Avatar f tn I was 211 and now at 39w+1d I'm 240 and my doctor pretty much told me I gained a lot of weight and I'm unhealthy. I wouldn't worry to much about losing weight hun doc would tell you if there was any concern if your losing to much.
1306983 tn?1273292941 m worried that i may be becoming anorexic, as in the past nine months or so i have been losing weight gradually, but constantly. I havent had my periods for nine months. Nine months ago i got stitches in my lip and couldnt eat properly for a while, then i got braces. my eating patterns never stabilised and i started finding i got great pains in my abdomen anytime i ate anything big, ate anything quickly, or just ATE it general.
11100381 tn?1436779908 I am at week 10, and instead of the morning sickness getting better, it's getting worse. I went from massive fruit cravings, to eating pancakes now and then, to eating portions about half a sandwhich, and now, I can barely eat a piece of toast. I was drinking ensure to make up for what I havn't been eating, but now I can't stomach even that. I feel so hungry and everytime I try to eat, my stomach screams in pain at me and I usually end up throwing it up.
Avatar f tn Is something wrong with me? I keep losing weight. I've lost 4 pounds in the last week or so. Is this normal??!!
