Avatar f tn t kill yourself) and no soda, alcohol or cigarette smoking. The key to losing weight (and keeping it off) is to never diet... diets don't last! Changing your life does! Remember, real changes don't happen over night, things on life worth having takes effort, dedication and time. Good luck!
Avatar f tn A lot of first time moms gained alot with first baby. I gained 60ls in total with my first, this is second baby and I have only gained 28lbs! & due in 5 Days. I am also over weight for my size & age. as long as your doctor tells you your ok than dont worry, but watch what you eat, being over weight can cause you to get diabetes! And try to walk alot.
Avatar n tn Why do you say your options at 55 are rather limited? A man can get a vasectomy at any age, and a woman can go on birth control at any age too.
Avatar n tn Why do you want to be underweight? If you love sports you most likely have a lot of muscle mas making up your current underweight BMI. Get a fat percentage measurement done and you may find that you should actually worry more about properly nourishing and taking care of your body's needs than losing weight. Don't hurt yourself, and your body will continue to play sports. Underweight is not good. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.
Avatar f tn I'm about 13 weeks and keep losing weight. Not sure why. I eat, but i know I'm not getting the calories I need. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables mostly because that's what's sounds good. I'm also eating a lot of protein too. Anyone else experienced weight loss?
6520484 tn?1399082398 But I still have 20lbs of fat that I put on during the pregnancy. Just wondering if anyone had success in losing the baby weight? I could use some pointers. I already eat healthy and all I drink is water and milk, no juice or pop or anything. I'm too tired to exercise (with Two week old baby and all). Anyone do anything to lose the weight that really worked?
Avatar n tn They said my TSH was at 5. which is odd as I am losing weight. As a matter of fact....too much. In one years time almost 50 pounds and in this past month 5 pounds. I think that losing weight is fine "Great" being after the thyroidectomy for an incidental papillary cancer seemed to keep weight on me for 4 years however....My legs feel very heavy from the theighs to the calves and some days feels difficult to walk.
1467664 tn?1288579313 m 5/5)and at one point was 81 pounds(yuck) I lookwd gross and felt worse.but in answer to losing weight the healthy way and not only am I a type 1 I also am a personal trainer.Timing meals ,excercise and insulin are important.Cutting out carb stotally is not a good idea because your body does need the enrgy especially when you are workinh out.Not sure what dose you are on but once you start a workout plan you will see your needs decrease .
Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar f tn Yes, kinda stupid question and I know both are bad but if you could choose for me to be over weight (say 40-50 pounds overweight) or underweight (like 10 pounds under) and no inbetween choose what would you rather do. I'm not going to do anything bit just wodering. I know I can't keep a stable weight and I'm either over weight or underweight. So I'm thinking that going back and forth is way worse than just staying at one place. So what would be the best?
Avatar n tn First, if you're at all muscular, you're not all that overweight. If you're not muscular, you don't need to lose a ton of weight. Calories aren't key to losing weight -- how quickly and efficiently you metabolize your food into sugar and how well you digest your nutrients is far more important.
Avatar n tn I would definitely ask your pediatrician to have her seen by a pediatric endocrinologist, it may indeed be early puberty, the dheas is a hormone that the adrenal gland makes and is a sign of early but almost normal variation of the adrenal gland maturation process that can occur in this age range in some kids.
Avatar m tn Hi there, It started back in March when I decided to do something about my weight, which was 202lb at the time. Since I started losing weight, I've been spotting every month around ovulation time. Sometimes it's barely noticeable if I'm having an off diet day, just a few specks on the toilet paper but other times it gets a little worse.
Avatar n tn I know because my Sunshine went through this also. He was eating like a hog and losing weight!!! I was frightened. He would also display odd behaviors once in a while. If this is what it is (all that is required to dx this is a blood test), there are three treatment options that I knew of then (year 2000): A particular medication whose name escapes me(something like Beclor)......This made Sunshine MUCH worse. Surgery on the thyroid gland to remove the benign tumor....
594189 tn?1386916607 I'm was 197 lbs but I got down to 176 lbs before I got my BFP. So losing weight will definitely help you conceive! I didn't use fertility drugs or anything beyond the Metformin.
Avatar n tn You need to calculate your calorie needs, based on your current weight, height, age and activity level. If you cut calories too much, you won't lose weight either. If you implement the food diary, it will tell you how many calories you need each day just to fuel the body functions that are involuntary, such as heart rate, kidney, brain and other functions, etc.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 6 years old, on concerta for ADHD and is losing weight. She has been on medications for adhd for over a year now. She was born at 35 weeks by c-section, hospitalized several times before age 2 for respiratory conditions. She has a congenital dislocation of her elbows, significantly more pronounced on left side, for which she is being monitored by Shriners hospital. No other significant medical history.
Avatar n tn I can tell you from experience that if you plan on losing more weight...wait to have your tummy tuck. I lost 50 lbs and now I need to have the surgery all over again. I have also lost alot of weight (185 lbs) to begin with which may have a bearing on my results as well cause my skin is really bad...best thing is to talk to your Dr and let him know your concerns. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Your Thyroid could be not working properly. I was losing my hair & gaining weight rapidly & found out that my Thyroid was to blame. That is why I take a synthetic hormone for my thyroid now. I've stopped gaining the weight but before we had discovered what was causing all of my problems I went from a healthy 150lbs to an unhealthy 360lbs in about 6months time. Now that we have me on the synthyroid.
Avatar f tn The 50% and 75%, I believe, represents that 50% and 75% of women your age and race have lower values of calcium score and volume, respectively.... so you're roughly normal for your age. My calcium score was 720 and that's worrisome (90% of men my age have lower scores)- - a couple of blockages of 30% or less were also detected. Even so, my cardiologist didn't seem too concerned.
Avatar f tn With my first son I gained over 50 pounds by the time I had him. I was 136 when I got pregnant. I lost only 30 of those 50 but I could have lost more if I wasn't being lazy. I was 19 when I had him.
Avatar m tn Your doctor is dosing your thyroid medication, based only on TSH? For that reason alone, you need a new doctor. Dosing thyroid medication based only on TSH is like trying to shoot a moving target and TSH doesn't even correlate with symptoms, at all. You need to have FT3 and FT4 tested every time you have a TSH test. Those are the actual thyroid hormones, with FT3 being the one that's used by individual cells and correlates best with symptoms.
952564 tn?1268368647 ve been exercising in hopes of losing some weight. I am over weight already, (like 50 lbs,) and I have heart disease, diabetes, and cancer risk in my family so I am trying to get serious about losing weight. :( Maybe if I keep up with my exercise it will help a little. I hope. Good to know it is good with moods, though.
Avatar f tn s best to calculate number of calories needed, based on your current age, weight, height and activity level. That way you can make sure you get enough, but not too many.
