1543882 tn?1293417476 I am young, 17, and I really need some motivation to start losing weight. Any mentors, tips, suggestions?
Avatar f tn So, I've been overweight my whole life and I started making changes for the last two years but I haven't totally idk given up my fat mind state. It's like because I've never been a healthy weight, I feel it's impossible for me to be that person. I get mad at myself because I know I can do it but I over think it and then start doubting myself because my real goal is so big about 80lbs. So, I haven't lost any weight because I stop myself, wow that's a real wake up call.
1650779 tn?1342036603 In thinking about your main motivation for weight loss, are you most focused on losing weight by a certain date (e.g. I want to lose weight for a wedding or graduation), on losing a certain amount of weight (e.g. I just want to lose 15 pounds), or on weight loss in general (I don't care about weighing a certain amount, I just want to weigh less)?
Avatar n tn i want to lose at least 15 pounds, but more importantly belly fat. I am not that big now, only 127 pounds, but I would really like motivation and tips to how I can lose fat in these 36 days. thank you!
Avatar f tn You know losing weight is a process; and depending on the amount you want to lose, it could be a lengthy process. Having clear short-term and long-term goals will make that process more exciting. Once you define what you want to achieve and when, write those goals in a notebook or on the computer. At the beginning, especially if you've been away from a regular exercise program for awhile, you should set weekly goals and one ultimate goal.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, Just discovered this app, and I wanted to have your advice about how to get motivation about loosing weight. I have a tendancy to eat when I'm bored, and also I cant help myself to eat when there is food in front of me. I know it is especially self-control, but I can't help it and then, when I write my diet diary, I feel guilty. Any good tips ?
Avatar f tn Losing weight more slowly will allow your skin to shrink, but there's still a chance that you will have some extra skin. Don't let that scare you away from losing, though, because you'll be much healthier in the long run. Best of luck to you and do stick around a let us know how you're doing, or if there's something we can do to help you.
Avatar f tn I was just hoping for some good tips that I could use to help the motivation process. I totally agree, though...he needs to want this for himself, I can't do it for him! But, I do want to be supportive and encourage him to be healthier and to take pride in his body! You only get one, afterall!
Avatar f tn I'v bin trying to lose weight for so long!! And I'm in need of motivation! Do you have any tips on how to keep going?
Avatar m tn When I was going to college, I took a workout class that was actually ROTCs pt class. The group encouragement was amazing!! Try looking into group classes offered by your gym or get a friend with similar goals. The buddy system is such a motivatior. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar f tn They should be able to set and appropriate goal weight for you, and give you some tips on losing some weight. Never try starving yourself or making yourself throw up. You are wonderfully made. Keep going. You can do it.

Avatar f tn So I've been on a low calorie diet (less than 1500 calories) per day and working out at the gym for an hour oror more 4 times a week. I'm currently at 147lbs and have been for the last 3 weeks!! Since i started my diet. Has this happened to anyone else. I know it might just be muscle keeping me from losing weight. I would love some advice about working out and losing weight.

Avatar n tn Hi there, Hope you are doing well. A good dietary regime and exercises all will be helpful in losing weight. Losing weight in a healthy way is important for maintaining the glow of your skin. Eat lots of fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, fruits and consume less of potato, sweetened and processed foods. Start your day by drinking lemon juice in warm water. Have fruits with lots of vitamin C in breakfast that will help you cut fats as vitamin C is a fat burner.
Avatar n tn basically I really struggle maintaining a mentality for weight loss. I'll just crave something and tell myself : this will be my last awful meal and I'll start tomorrow. But then it goes like that most days. Or I'll eat something healthy and then eat whatever I was gonna eat in the first place so really that just doubles the calories. I used to do quite well with my will power and I don't know how to get it back. Does anyone have good tips which help stay ON track ?
Avatar n tn Well first let me say im no expert here ...but i see a few things. 1. you're doing wieght training so you're likely adding muscle while burning fat..muscle weighs more than fat so i would suggest you ignore the scale for a bit. 2. you might try doing weigth training only 2 or 3 days a week to stay toned and add a bit to the cardio.. 3.you may not be eating enough ..
Avatar n tn I keep losing my motivation to go to the gym and eating healthier. Has anyone got anything that can help me?
