Avatar m tn I have been experience chronic right upper quadrant pain for 1 1/2 years. It all started after my gallbladder was removed because of chronic inflammation. 4 months ago I was a size 8-10 and weight 158 pounds, now I'm 142 pounds and wear size 2-4. In total I have lost less than 20 pounds but have gone down over 4 dress sizes. It seems like I'm loosing a lot of body fat but not weight. I have had blood work, ct scans, and upper gi and everything has come back normal.
Avatar m tn Rowing Machines are good for those who desire a whole body workout, but have limited space. Rowing uses both the upper and lower body for aerobic exercise. Resistance equipment is a good compliment to any home aerobic fitness equipment. The two most widely recognized kinds of weight equipment are home gyms or multi-stations and free weights. Free weights are reasonably prices and require little space.
Avatar f tn t have hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, etc, as these can all make losing weight more difficult, as well as causing aches/pains by themselves. I totally agree that you need to opt for low impact exercise, such as swimming, water aerobics, yoga, etc. Once you start losing some weight, you should see some of the pains diminish.
Avatar f tn I am an 18 year old female and have excess body and facial hair. I have hair in my toes, my lower back, my stomach, my arms and fingers, my butt, my upper lip and chin hair grow very fast, and even in my breasts. My family is not hairy and my mom and sister barely have any body or facial hair. My period is normal, but I did grow very fast and stopped growing at a young age. Avatar n tn Why do you want to be underweight? If you love sports you most likely have a lot of muscle mas making up your current underweight BMI. Get a fat percentage measurement done and you may find that you should actually worry more about properly nourishing and taking care of your body's needs than losing weight. Don't hurt yourself, and your body will continue to play sports. Underweight is not good. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.
Avatar f tn Your weight can fluctuate in the beginning. I wouldn't worry about it babies are very resilient. They get nourished first and then you so they take what they need from your body that's why its important to take a prenatal vitamin not so much for the baby but for your body to cope with any nutritional deficiency. And gaining weight in the beginning isn't crucial.
Avatar f tn t know where to post this) I am a plus size 22 year old female who is currently losing weight, and I have began to get this what start out like zits on my upper thighs mostly inner and upper legs and on my stomach. 4715985 tn?1371582997 Im just wondering if there would be a reason why i would lose weight in only a week? Im so scared that something bad will happen, is this normal?
Avatar n tn This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body. Peak 8 actually stimulates the growth hormone in the body. I encourage you to visit Dr Mercola’s site to learn more about Peak 8 fitness because I personally feel that it is one of the best ways to exercise, especially considering the speed at which you can lose fat and build muscle. I highly recommend you read this article and watch the videos on the page.
Avatar f tn I agree that once your body gets used to the same routine, you will have a hard time losing weight. You need to change it around regularly to keep your body "off guard" so your exercising will again be challenging. Your diet is very important as well. I don't necessarily agree with the only 2 servings of fruit.
Avatar f tn I gained about 20 pounds in about 2 months or so on the last birth control pill that I used (I stopped using any hormonal birth control 8 months ago). I have also previously had an abnormal glucose tolerance test (insulin resistance) but very little advice from a doctor about what to do about it. I also was recently tested for PCOS but it was determined that I do not have this.
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar n tn s keeping you from losing weight. By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.
Avatar n tn You can't really "spot reduce", but general exercise and losing weight from the entire body will definitely help. Walking is good for both the abs and the legs, actually the entire body!! I've always had rather thick thighs also and I believe that walking does about as good as anything.
Avatar f tn Forgot to mention - you can't "spot reduce"; losing weight in general will get rid of the love handles.
888748 tn?1241893015 I am looking for suggestions on losing weight, and being able to function daily without so much pain, and also to keep my other knee from deteriorating so quickly. Any suggesitons?
Avatar f tn Hello there, It would be really dangerous to you to lose that much weight, ie 15 lbs in 2 weeks. A good amount of weight is about 2 lbs per week. The middle of August is about 4 weeks away. Even in 4 weeks, unless you go on what I would call a drastic diet or a starvation diet which would probably put your body in shock, you can't lose 15 lbs in a healthy way. Some people might think that if you drastically reduce your calorie intake, the weight will just fall off you. This is not true.
4347786 tn?1357713425 A LOT of women lose weight in their pregnancy from morning sickness, at this stage your baby is getting plenty of nutrients anyway. Try eating a little here and there, fruits, apples especially, ginger ale and water really went down well for me with my first pregnancy. Make sure you're taking prenatal vitamins so your body is well nourished whether you're eating much or not, and try to stay hydrated, that's most important. I hope you feel better!
Avatar f tn One lb of weight is equivalent to about 3500 calories. So if you want to lose a pound of weight your going to need to cut back a total of 3500 calories in three or four days and you will likely lose about 1 lb. I hope this makes sense to you. If your body is burning 2000 calories daily and you are eating 1300 calories daily that is a 700 calorie deficiency per day. So... in about 5 days you would loose 1 lb. (700 calorie per day X 5 days= 3500 calories. Now...
Avatar n tn And I have constant pain in my arms, hands, legs, feet which is normal with Hashi? But I also have pain in my upper and lower back, chest, abdomin and even a shooting pain around my uterus area that radiates down my thigh. Could this all be Hashi/thyroid related? All the pain and drastic weight loss really concern me though. BTW I have been on synthroid 75 mcg for 1 month now. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I have a lot of pain (especially when touched) in what seems to be the fatty tissue, especially in the upper legs (thighs) and the upper arms. I can also feel nodule underneath the skin (not sure if in fat of facia) and if these are pressed, the pain is tremendous, often radiating all over.
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal to lose weight while pregnant. I lost weight the first trimester and my doctor didn't worry as long as baby is growing. Just eat healthy and stay active! !
