Avatar n tn Hi there, Hope you are doing well. A good dietary regime and exercises all will be helpful in losing weight. Losing weight in a healthy way is important for maintaining the glow of your skin. Eat lots of fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, fruits and consume less of potato, sweetened and processed foods. Start your day by drinking lemon juice in warm water. Have fruits with lots of vitamin C in breakfast that will help you cut fats as vitamin C is a fat burner.
Avatar f tn I am 42 years old, 5' 5, and 205 lbs. I wear size 12/14. 3 years ago I quit my office job after 16 years. I was about 185-190 lbs at that time. I then lost about 10-15 lbs in 1 1/2 months by eating better and drinking more water and using the treadmill (run/walk) 5 (+/-) time a week for about an hour or so (4-5 miles). Just because. I came back to my office job 1 year ago (where a lot of women who like to eat work as well). I was 175 lbs when I came back. Now I weigh 205...
Avatar f tn ve been steadily losing weight over the past few days even though I eat at least 3 meals a day (3 normal portioned meals, or 5 small meals). When I first weighed myself when I found out I was pregnant, I was about 145. Then when I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago I was 140, now I'm 137. Anyone else going through weird things like this? Oh and keep in mind I'm constipated, so I feel like I should weigh more?
Avatar f tn I agree with Barb135 losing weight in a month is not a magic. Exercise and diet plan are the most important things to achieve your weight goal. Exercise plays an important role in maintaining a healthy body, and it makes it possible to create a calorie deficit and lose weight without starving your body.
1519805 tn?1291058650 As you mature, it will be more and more difficult to lose weight. However, large amounts of weight gain--with no change in diet or activity--usually hints at a medical condition. So make sure you rule those out first. First of all, there's nothing easy or quick about losing weight. I'm so frustrated with commercials and billboards that promise fast results. A fat camp means you'll lose weight while at camp, but then what happens when you get home?
2053729 tn?1330435506 According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have had my thyroid checked in the last 4 months and it was "normal".
Avatar f tn I started counting my calories n recording them in a log, with a budget, that actually works 4 me ..
1149046 tn?1264361586 Just walking will help your mid section. If you notice when you walk you kind of twist. Barb135 is right about the DVD's. I only use ones from the library because they are free and if I don't like it I can bring it back. There are some just for your mid section. Look for Core or Ab workouts. If you Google stomach exercises they will pop up everywhere. I also believe that it sometimes depends on what type of food you eat.
Avatar f tn One lb of weight is equivalent to about 3500 calories. So if you want to lose a pound of weight your going to need to cut back a total of 3500 calories in three or four days and you will likely lose about 1 lb. I hope this makes sense to you. If your body is burning 2000 calories daily and you are eating 1300 calories daily that is a 700 calorie deficiency per day. So... in about 5 days you would loose 1 lb. (700 calorie per day X 5 days= 3500 calories. Now...
Avatar f tn For losing weight, drink warm/hot water several times a day and do kapabhati for 30 minutes, twice a day. Kapalbhati pranayam Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute. -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.
Avatar f tn I lost 10 using the gym and pool before my struggle with tachycardia got worse. I agree that you need motivation but I also think you need to enjoy exercise. I went with a friend and had lots of fun. Not sure if it's a coincidance or not but I lost the 10kg before my sister join us at the gym. I have a lot of anxiety around my sister as she's a controling person and given any chance she will try to control me any way. I stopped loosing weight once she joined us.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any secrets to losing weight with hypothyroid? Have been diagnosed now for a yr and 1/2. Have joined a gym and been eating more veg. and fruit but still can't lose any suggestions?

797971 tn?1238008431 Hello All. I'm Samantha and a friend had been telling me about this place but she's part of another forum. She speaks highly of this place. So while googling things, I came across medhelp.org. I decided hey what do I have to lose? OTHER THAN WEIGHT! HAHA. Well here's a little about why I'm here. As time goes on, eventually we will gain weight. I am a 21 year old female. I currently weigh 187 pounds. It's hard to lose weight in general for women.
Avatar f tn I suggest you to exercise. The easiest exercise is sports of course. You'll enjoy playing whilst losing weight. If you don't like sports, try cardio work-out. 30 minutes work out, 3 times per week. There are a lot of cardio workout in youtube that you can follow. The best one for me is FitnessBlender channel. They teach exercises whilst tracking how many calories you burn.
Avatar f tn Im a qualified personal trainer and what you described there is totally normal, your losing weight in a healthy manner which is hard to do so fair play to you, keep it up! The thyroid will set you back and losing weight will take longer! If you are worried and need any advice you can PM me!
Avatar n tn As far as exercise, get some weights and do some weight training, or do some push-ups. Cardio is not necessary for losing weight. In fact, I believe that running too much can be bad for you. That's a whole other topic of conversation. Stick to high-intensity workouts for shorter periods & you'll be healthier. Also, remember that it's not what you do at the gym that makes you look/feel great, it's what you do at home in the kitchen that counts.
