Avatar f tn I'm arthritic and want to and need to lose weight due to my knee pain. If I cannot exercise and I stay on my calorie trackor will I've able to still lose the weight still?
Avatar m tn Put all your weight on the knees so that you can feel pressure on your toes. Squatting helps to reduce fats stored in the thighs. Bicycle exercise Bicycle exercise is a very good way to reduce fat from lower abdomen. For this, lie straight on the ground with both the hands lying at the back of the head. Now fold the knees and try to hold the knees as close as possible to your chest. Shoulders also get stretched when you attempt to touch the knees.
Avatar n tn I have no health problems but have had pain in my knees before working out but just figured when I lose weight it will go away. If anyone can help, that would be awesome!!
Avatar f tn so lets stick to weight gain... by losing all the baby weight ur knees (if its not arthritis) should go back to normal... the weight we put on during pregnancy makes us put more weight on our knees which are the main supporters of our body, and the tendons are hurt by all the weight... i still have tendonitis after the surgeries because of the trauma caused to my tendons by hte surgeries... so i hurt a lot during the cold and rainy days... or when standing for long periods of time...
478429 tn?1265244387 im glad to hear you HSG was normal...that's great news as for losing weight...granted everybody's body is different...i substitute a salad for a meal almost everyday and drink lots of water maybe its best to ask your family doc what they suggest...you dont want to lose weight the unhealthy way also i have been hearing a lot about diets rich in protein to help lose weight...maybe google will help with this?
Avatar f tn I have been doing 7 miles a day on the stair stepper, but I am having trouble losing the weight. I plan on going back to bikram yoga in another 2 months when the twins are on solids and I can leave them for 2 hours at a time. My goal is to be back in a size 4 by September. What are you ladies doing to drop the weight? How is it going?
Avatar f tn I've changed my diet, I'm following the paleo diet. But since I've started with GM, up til today.. I've lost quite a bit of weight. In 6 months I've lost 23 pounds. Has anyone else experienced quite a bit of weight loss? I'm hoping the weight loss is due to my new diet plan and not the cause of some other underlying health issue.
Avatar f tn Yes, swelling will show as weight gain.
Avatar f tn Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently. Thyroid point – press (50 times) the fleshy bit on palm between the base of thumb and wrist on both hands. You will feel pain when you press.
Avatar m tn m not sure if not having enough protein is contributing to me not losing weight. I hear people talk about how they lose a pound a week and the such, but I've run 5 miles a day for 5 days straight for 1 month and have only lost 1-2 lbs. What am I doing wrong?!
594189 tn?1386916607 Maybe the low carb diet is right for your body? Not everyone can follow all diet plans. I still eat carbs (a ton) and I'm still losing weight without a problem. Maybe stick to this low carb diet till the end of the month and see what weight comes off, if none maybe switch to something of your own.
888748 tn?1241893015 I am looking for suggestions on losing weight, and being able to function daily without so much pain, and also to keep my other knee from deteriorating so quickly. Any suggesitons?
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago, I began experiencing a sharp pain in both my knees while walking. During the course of these two weeks, the pain and occurance has gotten much more severe. It has become very uncomfortable to lay in certain positions, sit in certain positions, and walking has become extrememly difficult. The pain gets so intense that it leaves me in tears. I have also noticed random bruising around the knee that I cannot explain how it got there.
614557 tn?1243708351 I used to weigh over 450 pounds, had bypass surgery in 2003, and lost 200 of it, but my knees took a beating from the weight and I am always having issues with them, right now I am in so much pain- it really stinks.I just started a new joblast week, it seems the more active I am-the more it hurts and swells up. I am just venting because doctors don't want to go in and fix them.I don't know how to relay to them how much pain I am in because they never seem to believe me.How frustrating!
Avatar f tn My dr is on my case every time I see her because I am not losing weight fast enough for her---and of course she does not believe me that I am seriously working on this. I was planning on having a tummy tuck and some serious liposuction this March, but my BMI is too high for the dr to feel comfortable doing the surgery. I had 5 c-sections, all done vertically, so the scar is horrific looking.
Avatar f tn Stool is not smell bad, and always just sinks , I am not losing weight either, I am consistently the same weight, colour is medium brown and is usually solid, I’ve had a recent clean colonoscopy and an OGD that showed, GERD and a hiatal hernia I have read that the oily sheen is malabsorption. Or is it normal to have a slight sheen on the water? Again I can't see it unless I get down on my knees at the right angle.
302315 tn?1219182107 I went to an orthopedic dr and they took Xrays of my knees, I got bad arthritis according to him in my knees and I'm gonna get 3 Euflexxa shots next month. I'm very obese, I sit all day. I've been taking osteo-bi flex and my knees no longer grind and I have noticed significant mobility increase.
Avatar n tn At the very least, you will be a healthier you even if weight loss does not happen. Good luck! Losing weight is hard at any age.
Avatar f tn I also experience joint pain....especially in the knees and rediculous itching spells. But, once again, told it is not related to the medicine. Hmmmmm......starting to think the docs don't have a clue what this stuff will and/or won't do to us! If you find something that helps relieve the itching, please post!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn GO SHOPPING When you go to the store park way in the back them take the cart all the way back in to the store. Bring your packages in one at a time. LAUNDRY When you doing your laundry put it on the floor in front of the washer, pick up one thing at a time left it up and put it in the washed, put it in the dryer one thing at a time, pull it out of the dryer one thing at a time stand up strait shake it out, after you fold it put it away 1 thing at a time.
Avatar n tn The weight loss helps some, but I still have back problems- the best relief from the weight loss is more energy and better mobility when my back does act up. Weight loss does reduce the amount of weight (in gut) that my back has to support...and in the long run it just feels better to get into shape. I have found that exercise hurts my back alittle bit now and then- but my back is much worse on a day-to-day basis when I do not work out. Even simple exercise like walking helps.
Panda I know that the pain and suffering in my knees is due to the fact that I am heavier, so I am trying to drop weight . I have lost 10 lbs so far, but it's quite a struggle since I have to be really careful not to injure myself to the point where I won't even be able to work out. I have also changed my eating habits. I am on a 1200 calorie a day diet, and workout 4x a week, an hour each time.
Avatar f tn m also taking a daily multivitamin, an omega-3 capsule, a vitamin E capsule, and occasionally Aleve or some NSAID to help with my Plantar Fasciitis. My knees have been hurting due to weight gain (went from 230-257 before I recently decided enough was enough) so that's why I started the Omega-3's. Am I ok to continue taking these?
