If you were completely sedentary your whole life and you're young, starting any exercise program and eating better should start showing some results quickly.
Avatar f tn I have found that all "quick" diets do not work. Slow is the way to go! Weight watchers is great! Also, if you need that quick beginning, I find that weight watchers did that for me. Just by following the program you will see a quick drop in the first few weeks. Of course, it is most likely water weight, but it gets the motivation going and you feel so much better. why do you need to lose to fast? any special occasions?

I was not big to begin with about 130 and currently almost down to 100.suffered for years with an eating disorder and it resurfaced recently worse than ever. was hospitalized with vomiting blood recently and after released I have no choice but to vomit after every little sip or bite of anything because even if I wamted to keep it down my body forces it out.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just wanted to also add this-- from my experience. If any weight loss regime you take on is not something you can sustain for the long term day to day, it's not worth it. You will just gain the weight back. You have to look at long term things you can do and live with. Examples, I cut back on sugar and added in much healthier choices that I like. I have one cheat day a week where I can have my sugary snacks if I want them. This works for me and has for a very long time.

I agree with using the food tracker to see how many calories you are eating each day, then start making small changes, like drinking water instead of soda (including diet soda), or snacking on raw veggies, rather than a candy bar, yogurt in place of ice cream, etc. Exercise is essential to losing weight AND being healthy. There are exercises you can do that should not bother your asthma.
Avatar f tn Just remember anything that comes off quickly comes back on just as quick. There really isn't any good way to loose a lot of weight quickly but you can start a good regimen and you will feel better about yourself soon. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I keep slimfast (or equivalent) on hand all the time for those times when I need something quick, and yes, I have lost weight on them. The problem is that you can't stay on them indefinitely, so as soon as you start eating normally again, you regain the weight. As far as the nutrient value goes, they actually have more nutrients than a lot of foods we eat these days.

Soda should be a rare treat once or twice a month, not every day. Avoid fast food and eat home-cooked, well-balance meals focusing on a variety of vegetables as well as poultry, fish, and lean meats. Whole fruits are fine, and better than juices because they have more fiber you need. Don't fry food. Use healthier methods and healthy oils.
Avatar f tn Losing weight fast means gaining it back faster. Healthy, sustainable weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. I know, this isn't as fast as anyone would like it to be, but every little bit makes a difference. Myself, I prefer the hula hooping diet!

It took me a long time to realize that, but once I started taking things a bit slower and doing it the "right way" I was finally able to lose the weight I needed to. A few things you can do to drop probably about 5-10 lbs really quickly is to limit your sodium and alcohol intake and increase your water consumption.
