Losing weight is easier if you have someone to support you so find a family member or close friend who will also try to lose weight with you. Fast food is packed with calories and fat (at least most of it is) so avoid it but if you're going to eat it then try to get the healthiest thing there and yes drinking water does help.
Avatar f tn So my dr told me that I am losing weight today at my appointment. I know its natural in the first trimester but my dr is concerned and says I need to start gaining. Problem is I am never hungry. I eat a small meal at lunch time and feel completely stuffed the rest of the day/night. Anyone have any suggestions?? I'm already high risk, I don't want anything else to happen too!

Avatar f tn ve been steadily losing weight over the past few days even though I eat at least 3 meals a day (3 normal portioned meals, or 5 small meals). When I first weighed myself when I found out I was pregnant, I was about 145. Then when I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago I was 140, now I'm 137. Anyone else going through weird things like this? Oh and keep in mind I'm constipated, so I feel like I should weigh more?
Avatar n tn s keeping you from losing weight. By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.

Avatar f tn What to expect when you're expecting says losing weight in the 1st trimester is normal bc of morning sickness. You will just have to make up for it when you aren't sick anymore. If you can't keep anything down, you may need to see your dr incase you become dehydrated.

1467664 tn?1288579313 m 5/5)and at one point was 81 pounds(yuck) I lookwd gross and felt worse.but in answer to losing weight the healthy way and not only am I a type 1 I also am a personal trainer.Timing meals ,excercise and insulin are important.Cutting out carb stotally is not a good idea because your body does need the enrgy especially when you are workinh out.Not sure what dose you are on but once you start a workout plan you will see your needs decrease .
Avatar f tn I portion my meals everyday. I do 6 meals a day. I have 3 big meals and snack in between. I eat every 2 hours. I watch my carb intake though. With the bigger meals I stay at 30-45 grams of carbs and the snack at 15-20 grams of carbs. It may seen too little but it works and I stay full throughout the day. I'm 21wks 6days and only gained 10 pounds which is within the normal range. I was worried that I wasn't gaining enough but my OB said that my weight is normal.

I'm 5'10 and I was about 146 and now I weigh about 137. Is this a bad thing? I don't know if I can stomach eating more food but I will if I have to if it means my baby is healthy.
Avatar f tn Peg – Can you supply a little more information? Has he been eating and losing weight or has he stopped eating because of side effects? If it's the latter there are a few practical steps that can help: cold food vs. hot, many small meals vs. a few big meals. Although it's damn difficult, he needs to try to do everything possible to keep his weight up.

Drink minimum 3 litres of water daily, most fruits and vegetables, small portion meals, no late night meals, low fat diet focusing only on the good fats (HDL). Also, as you must know, exercise mainly cardiovascular minimumb 45 min as the longer you do cardio the more % of fat you are burning.

Avatar f tn Try small meals throughout the day. If you're getting full faster, it could be you just don't have as much room with baby getting big. I haven't gained any weight yet (18 weeks) although I am gaining size, or rather my weight is moving to my belly. I think because I'm eating better than I was before I'm gaining and losing weight at an equal rate. That could be what's happening with you.
Avatar n tn Weight does not go away that fast and remember that even if you weight this, you could still be healthy since its more about eating the right foods(food pyramid now comes handy!).. Oh and Dont try diets, they Dont work.. Try having a balanced diet.. Its not so much on how much you eat because we need a little bit me everything:) and I agree with the keeping track of your calories thing it really works!

Avatar f tn It also helps to plan your meals ahead of time so that you know before hand how many calories your going to eat that day. You dont have to eat much of some foods to keep from losing weight. You can purchase the calorie counter book in a paper back at most any book store... Id also suggest that you try eating 1,500to 1,600 calories daily. Most males usually use or burn about 2400 calories daily.
